This is the oral face of a horned sea star (Protoreaster nodosus). The other side is also really cool, but I couldn’t resist all of the tube feet.

I painted a species of Oenothera I found in the park. I’m not sure yet, but I think it might be a hybrid.

I think this is Arum maculatum or Arum italicum. Hard to tell without leaves. It’s a really cool looking plant though! I’ve always liked seeing them pop up.

I decided to draw the animals I spend the most time looking at one night in lab. Drawing under a dissecting microscope is really fun! 

This is a female Drosophila melanogaster. It has a marker for irregular facets (IF) so the eyes are scrabbly and rough instead of rounded and clean.

I’ve been trying watercolor lately and found this flower and decided to give it a shot. I still need to figure out what the plant is called. 

I think it is Salvia leucantha! Thanks for the suggestions!
