Did I just re-do all the things on this blog to reflect my son Wes? Yes.
Do I want to redo it all again so I can add more muses? Yes.
I have no idea if anyone would want Jude from Cruel Prince or Violet from Fourth Wing but they are my murder goblin children and I love them.

How far could he throw her? Wes looked Anya up and down quickly. They weren't as small as Kaylee, but still a lot smaller than him. A small smirk formed on the young man's lips, mirroring the same Anya had on her face as they worked through their plan."Really far." And it wasn't bragging or over confidence in the least. The inherited Kree strength from Captain Marvel was no joke. It would just be a matter of getting Anya across some distance instead of height.
"How would you prefer we do this? You want me to just give you a leg up or do we need to do some sort of Dirty Dancing lift?" His tone was serious, practically deadpan, but his blue eyes sparkled with no small amount of mirth.
"Maybe I just throw you like a javelin?"
While Wes was laying out their plan . . . and Anya was listening to said plan, she was getting a confirmed count of the men she was going to be dealing with. Wes taking on the bulk of the gunfire was going to leave things open for Anya to come in and take out a good chunk of their men. Her and her dad had certainly accomplished greater odds back in their days with HYDRA . . . This was going to be a piece of cake, and that was evident on the young woman's face with her mischievous smirk.
His plan really would play to BOTH of their strengths in the end, and it was something that she wasn't really used to yet outside of her family . . . but she was enjoying feeling like people actually paid attention to how she fought. As a way to play to strengths of the team . . . not to be taken advantage of.
An idea came to mind, and she rolled her lips before nodding to his plan, before turning to face him. " How far do you think you can throw me? " She glanced back to the men, and then back to him. " Dad and I used to do it all the time. Come from above while he took the heat. Gets em every time. "

He of all people knew how hard trust was. She could say that again. Westley had offered his complete trust when he was young and it ended badly...so badly. Usually that sort of thing now was only extended to his family. So of course he knew that he was asking a lot from Anya. After everything they had been through before they even met, Wes could understand the struggle...but now? After Hydra had gotten their hands on her again and hurt her further? It had to border on impossible.
But they were teammates. Friends. At least Wes considered them one. Anya had to trust him enough to be here, in the private lab at his house, letting him inspect the mechanical arm Hydra had so graciously forced her into. Wes had to swallow down anger at the very thought of it. Even looking at the dang thing was causing his temperature to rise.
"I know. Tr-" He almost said 'trust me' but that was what was already on the line. "But if I'm going to even be touching it, I need you to promise you will let me know if anything hurts." Wes wasn't a medical doctor, but he had an abundance of exposure to mechanical body part replacements thanks to his father and other Avengers. It wasn't his abilities he doubted as much as Anya's willingness to be open. Wes sat down on the workshop stool across from Anya, leveling a gaze at them that he hoped mixed the right level of piercing and gentle to get his point across. "I don't want to hurt you, so I'm going to need you to promise. Okay?"
@quiet--chaos: "I need to be able to trust you to tell me when you're hurt."
That was a TALL ORDER. Not for most people . . . but for Anya . . . placing trust was something she had a fear about doing. Even a situation like this seemed to make her nervous. For nothing more other than the word trust being a word that made her want to RUN FOR THE HILLS.
The other half of that . . . was the idea of trusting someone else with her health. She was so used to that being IRRELIVENT in the grand scheme of things. The people in her life made great attempts to help . . . and Anya didn't usually make that very easy. Looking at Wes, she paused for a few seconds before finally letting out a huff. If there was someone she could trust enough to give that much . . . It would be someone from Wes' family.
" You of all people know how hard that is. " She couldn't help the small scoff that escaped out, trailing behind her words. " I'm not any good at this Wes. "

The box was small but Kaylee's excitement was written all over her face. She'd spent months coming up with the design and spent extra time with their father to bring her vision to life.
There was a sense of anticipation as Westley unwrapped the box and pulled out the piece of metal. Before Kaylee could stop herself the exuberance blurted out "It's a sonic screw driver!" she exclaimed excitedly.
"Okay okay okay but really. It does everything you'd want a variety of screwdrivers to do but then-! Press the button!" she instructed.
The moment he did, the blue-white orbs of the holographic tech formed along the head and then solidified into its shape. "Dad helped but you should be able to do almost anything that beautiful brain of yours can imagine or need," Kaylee explained.
Kaylee was practically bouncing from the sheer eagerness for Wes to open whatever it was she had gotten him for Christmas. He considered slowly pulling at the tape and paper to take as long as he could, just to tease her, but decided against it. If he took long she might just vibrate off into the mesosphere.
His brows pulled together when he pulled a thin, textured, metallic device from the box. In the space between confusion and realization Kaylee burst out explaining that it was a sonic screwdriver. The young man's lips quirked up into a smile. Each of the Danvers-Stark children had the love of science fiction instilled in them from a young age. Which only made sense considering their Mother's books and the fact they led a very science fiction life. Star Wars was the gateway, but it spread out into the other staples like Doctor Who. Wes's teenage obsession.
The small smile pulled into a bright grin when, after pushing the button, blue-white lights shone along the end. She had clearly designed hers with the 9th and 10th doctor as the inspiration. Perfect choice.
"Kay-this is awesome. Thank you." He set the screwdriver back in the box and pulled her sister in for a hug. It didn't matter that their dad helped, Wes was sure the concept was all her and, as the adage said, it was the thought that counted.

As if anticipating the enthusiasm, Wes was able to catch his older but still smaller sister in a hug without batting and eye when she threw herself at him. It looked almost like a coordinated routine. It kinda was. "Oh no" Wes scoffed a laugh when Kay compared him to their dad. "I wouldn't go that far." Make Tony Stark look dumb? Wes was just standing on the shoulders of giants and his family's hard work. Not that he was so overly-humble to say that he didn't possess a certain level of genius. Look at his family. But nobody made his dad look dumb.... except for sometimes their mother and that was really just the love-struck expression Tony got on his face when looking at her. It was both gross and sweet.
Wes spun the hologram again before swiping it out away and out of sight. "But we go from hologram to prototype by you giving me a few days...and possibly in contact with a dendrologist." Not that Wes really wanted anyone to come to his private lab. Notes would be fine, maybe a zoom call.
The words hit Kaylee like a train, that drop of disappointment in her stomach. She knew what she wanted, the idea of superimposing strong oak trees with Stark tech, infusing the two, and bringing out a new age of green materials that could be described in no other uncertain terms as solarpunk. She wanted so desperately to bridge the gap between nature and technology. To utilize and harness the chlorophyll in natural plants to run the energy of the entire building. To bring back green spaces in a place that for so long had been lost to the idea with the exception of a few high priced apartments across Central Park. A new age to usher in.

The problem? Kaylee didn't have the chops to do it. Her ideas were just that - ideas. She was smart sure but getting from A to Z was not her strong suit. Yet here was Wes, with a few strokes of the stylist already bringing her idea to life.
Kaylee reached out, her hands touching the orbs of the hologram in wonder. With a bright smile, she beamed over to her little brother, throwing her arms around him in a big hug. "How do you do that!? I swear you make dad look dumb sometimes." she grinned
"Okay how do we go from hologram to prototype?"

Wes is the middle of three children and the only boy....and his sisters are his best friends. Older sister Kaylee is his rock and partner in crime since they are closer in age than him and their youngest sibling, Stevie.
Stevie is the reason Wes is very good with kids. He was always willing to play with her and shower attention on her when she was younger. We are talking attending her pretend princess tea parties and everything. Of course, since this was Stevie, the tea parties played out like Queen Amidala's negotiations with the Trade Federation in Phantom Menace. Wes usually had to be the Viceroy and seldom complained.
While Kaylee is protective of him due to their past, Wes is also very protective of her and also their baby sister. As a teenager, Wes was nearly arrested for trashing a paparazzi's camera and punching him when the man got into little Stevie's personal space and scared her making her cry.
Over the years Wes had to learn to control these outbursts leading him to be a much more outwardly calm adult- despite whatever is going on internally. If you get him visibly angry you should probably run. Even so, Wes is vocal about his love for his family and is affectionate with them. If you are somebody he cares for and trusts he will be this way toward you too. That trust is hard to get though.

"Which means we won't be able to try the same tactic on any of those entrances." Wes added with a quiet huff of frustration. Dark blue eyes surveyed the building, calculating for a few moments before he came to the only possible conclusion to be drawn. Flashy was not his general style, but it was their best option for both of them to get inside as far as he could see.
"Alright. I'll go out, draw their fire, and take out as many as I can. While their attention is on me you'll be clear to move in." Wes may not be quite as bulletproof as his mother or other Kree, but he was still fairly resistant, especially in comparison to others. As capable as Anya was, he was the best option to be the one getting shot at. This plan would play to her strengths as much as his powers were suited for it, but of course he didn't want to make a unilateral choice.
He looked back at Anya standing next to him, "Sound good?"
thread replies: @quiet--chaos.
MUCH LIKE HIS INSTINCT TO BLOCK AND FLY AWAY . . . It was just as much in Anya's instinct to latch on for the ride. She'd been scooped up by her dad that way more times than she could count. She was small, and petite like her mother, only differing in a little more muscle built up than her mother had.
Grabbing on, she curled into him while he flew them to safety. She hadn't realized that she was being held ( so close ) until they were landed behind the barrier offering them protection for the time being.
She was supposed to say something wasn't she? She was pretty sure she was supposed to say something, so asking to be put down was what managed to come out before anything more tactful could be said. There weren't many who reacted like that, and she had to admit she was impressed.
Once she was on her own two feet, she brushed off her uniform, before looking to the entrance they had just tried to storm . . . that proving to be a fruitless feat. She huffed out a sigh, shaking her head in slight defeat. " I'd say so. " She confirmed, her brain already trying to think of another way in. " And they're probably already adding men to any other entrances. "
