Yeah, I got last minute tix to a screening of the classic Japanese horror movie, House, so I can finally check that off my list of random crap I saw in a theater.

Gonna spam my blog for a while, it looks like.

I think one of the meds I was taking for anxiety was actually making me feel worse. Bleh.

Hid some posts because I'd actually meant to ruminate on some shit before posting and I'm not sure what happened. In one instance, I thought I'd hidden it days ago, but I clearly didn't. Fuck if I know. I was pretty on edge despite my efforts to help with that.

We've put off so many repairs because I thought I'd be here for maybe five years, ten at the longest.

It's coming up on 20 years in 2027, which is also when that bill's supposed to take effect.

I'm so tired.

For some reason, I thought I might get out a while ago. I put off so many projects because I didn't want to move them. I never got another cat because I didn't want to move with two cats.

I became even more withdrawn because I didn't want to get attached to this community, but I'm still here.

Honestly, I don't think I would've gotten like that if I wasn't sold the narrative that the only way to obtain basic human rights was move to another state. I slipped through the cracks a long time ago and was failed by local resources, so the idea I could just fucking escape was tantalizing. But I always knew it wasn't that simple.

As proof of that, my brother's back here from California.

He got burned out by the animation industry. I don't know exactly what he's doing now.

I've been dragging him to Master Pancake shows lately. I'd like to invite him over for my annual Troll II viewing, so I'm trying to do whatever I can and clean up the place. At least that's something.

It fucking sucks because I want out of this damn house.

And I don't know if it's going to be worth uprooting myself for a while.

If anything, privileged people who can afford to do so should be flocking to red states. Maybe they could turn things around.

But no. The onus is always on poor people to stop being poor. They're only in red states because they choose to be, and it's OK to write them off because every last one of them voted to stay that way.
