selfshipping with a movie character is funny to me because like. no, i don’t give a single shit about the actor. the second he’s out of character i feel nothing for him, he means nothing to me, but everytime his character is on screen i start screaming with excitement..

It's been so long, I'm not sure what the fandom consensus on anything is! But personally, I dislike stuff that glosses over the Very Canon Child Abuse and pretends the Ravagers were a cute, fluffy, happy family. Peter had every goddamn right to walk away and not look back!

...But at the same time, there's a reason he spent almost thirty years with the Ravagers before running away, and he always wore the flame patch on his arm.

Yondu was a shit dad in a shit situation who had an incredibly shit childhood and 0 clue how to raise a boy. Still, he loved that kid. And that doesn't make any of it okay - but equally, that love was always there.

I'm inevitably drawn in by complex familial relationships with hurt, hate, and heartbreak on all sides...
