how was lencia’s Wizard and i?

don’t think it’s fair to judge yet, she messed up her first line on stage and so i think the adrenaline from that affected her singing for that number. it wasn’t bad!! but i don’t think she was as representative in acting or tone as she will be. excited to see where it goes though :)

what are your thoughts on socha's glinda? i saw her last month and was a little let down by her portrayal after seeing so much praise for her online; i felt that her acting flattened glinda and removed the depth that makes her so interesting, but i also tend to prefer more serious, subtle glindas (like katie rose clarke) so i'd be curious to hear your take. what you said about allie trimm makes me so excited to see her with lencia!

yeah i liked that she didn’t just try and do everything over the top for laughs, that has become a major issue with glindas since the alli mauzey era tbh, so big points for not just being on crack

buuuuut yeah i have a few primary issues w socha, first being that she actually isn’t really funny at all lol? like the crackhead glinda pendulum swung back the other way. she’s good at sarcasm and bitchy glinda (i LOVE her choice to do finger air quotes around “clothing” in for your face / your voice / your “clothing”) but she seems to really struggle with like happy bubbly fun funny glinda part so her popular has always fell flat for me

second is that i honestly cannot tell the difference between her genuine sad emotion acting and her “i’m pretending to be over the top emotional to be funny” acting, like it’s just the same and if i didn’t know the story so well i would have been so confused about the tone of the scene lol i just don’t think she’s a very good actor

also just not a fan of her singing voice for glinda. i never felt like she stepped into her own version of glinda and i never felt chemistry between her and mk (and i’ve seen several different performances of hers across the whole run). i’ve seen mk have more chemistry with an understudy so like.. lol

but yes i think you’ll really like allie!! she’s pretty original in her comedy which is hard to do at this point in wicked’s run but she’s managed to find some spots to do a fresh take on the jokes. her voice is also incredible and has a more serious tone without being incorrect for the role. she’s like if you blended mckenzie kurtz with krc, which to me is like the god tier glinda combo
