HERE'S how a Gerson & Susie hug would go down even though Susie is very hesitant about PDA bc it's been haunting me for days.

At some point Gerson shows up in the story again and Susie is out of her mind with joy, so she launches herself at him only to freeze just a couple of steps away (she VERY clearly wants that hug but is too embarrassed to actually initiate or accept one).

Gerson looks at her and because he reads her like a book he's like "Well, what's the hol' up? Where's my hug?!"

and Susie's sputters like (miss me with that gay shit voice) "What? I... uh. Heh. You're kidding? Like I'm gonna go for a hug. You'll, uh, probably just use it to suplex me or something, anyway."

"Right, I see... Still a coward then, hmm?"

"What?!"

"Gah haha hah! Scared of a little tackle, are we? Think y' can't handle it? Can't even keep your feet on the GROUND?!"

until he riles her up enough that she tries to grab at him. He steps back. She tries again, he dodges.

"You know what? If you want a hug that badly, take THIS!!"

And she goes for a full sumo tackle. And Gerson tanks the hit. Heels planted, she probably slides him back an inch or two out of momentum, but he holds his ground...

...and holds her back. Just clinging to her, bone-crushingly tight, with her head tucked under his chin. He doesn't make another move. One second. Two. More. Until he feels her claws scratch the metal of his armor, and Susie's breathing goes a little funny.

And THEN he suplexes her.

let it be clear i am going to bat for this terrible horrible no good terrifying rotten icicle of a woman like no one has ever gone to bat for a fictional woman before. this is reparations for every single mid ass morally gray man who got woobified because he was sad once. woman you suck so bad. i can see the toxic grief eating at you from the inside, core to rind. i see the terror and obsession behind your ruthlessness. carol holiday i would kill for you and you would probably try to find some use for that which is great and precisely why i love you

There was this plaza... and they put this public piano in it. So I started playing it. Thinking, y'know, it might be fun. But... I guess... Maybe because I was... so bad... Or because I just looked like I shouldn't be playing... They told me I wasn't... allowed to play it. So I backed off. And then... They let somebody else play.... someone better. ... I don't know... I don't know why I expected I'd be able to play it.... Is what I thought... then. ...That night, when no one else was around...... I came back. And you know what I did? ... I smashed it. Yeah... I smashed the piano.... I... don't even really know if I broke it, but... I hit it as hard as I could. Hard enough to do some damage.... and I ran.

there's something so interesting to me about the wording in Susie's story... she wasn't allowed to "play" The piano was meant for anyone, but she wasn't allowed to play it. Because she would play it badly, because she didn't look like she should be playing... It makes me think of how Susie is not allowed the role of "MC" by the game. Because the MC should be a human, someone with the SOUL. But still, she forces Deltarune to admit her as it's protagonist, due to her efforts, and the person that she is.

It makes me think of Susie playing the "evil route" first try in Dragon Blazers by accident, because she didn't know what to do, because she was bad at the game... And she still doubts herself if she wouldn't do things the "bad" way if she played it again. Like she isn't sure if she's "good enough" yet.

It makes me think about how a Dragon is the enemy in a story, never the protagonist. Never the hero.
