Concept: Vox never confessed his feelings to Alastor cause he knew him too well, and he knew that it would ruin everything they have, so he decided to make a mechanism that he will self-censor for words like he loves Alastor, to make sure Al will never hear those feelings coming from him, to avoid losing Al.

(I know it's a bit dumb that he only censors the voice, but others can still read the lips to figure out what he was saying, I guess I'm really good at creating plot holes.)
