Another year coming to an end! But sadly this will be my last submission. I honestly have to say that this project really was an eye opener for me and showed me a lot of improvement drawing wise.
Honestly I'm a bit disappointed in myself because I know that I could've genuinely done better if I had managed my time more, but I've learnt so much through creating animation. I'm seeing so much improvement in my art and figure studies. Hopefully when I'm more skilled, I can come back to this and re-animate it.
Uploading this because I forgot to earlier. This is a character pose sheet I did for Medusa a few months back to get a better understanding of her outift.
So I thankfully remembered to record one process while animating. I was in such a panic that I didn't save up each step but thankfully for this I have.
So I finally got to drawing the snake for the second scene. I don't think I'll have enough time to animate it hence why I've drawn it with it's mouth open just in case. But I am really proud of myself for drawing this out nicely. I worked on the texturing and shading for a few days but it was definitely worth it.
Animated the final part for this shot. Basically she walks out of the scene and goes towards the priestess. I'm quite happy with this walk. Earlier it took me so long to figure out the movements and how to draw them but I'm slowly understanding it now.
So I'm done working on this animation, but something I wanted to mention here was, I wanted to show a bit of an interaction with the snakes and Medusa during a difficult time. Hence why in the video, she stops and looks at her snake, the reason for this is because I want to showcase her relationship with them.
So once the artwork was complete, I went ahead and started animating Medusa walking into the scene. This was pretty nice when I was done coloring it in, because the sketch looked off a bit but once I finished cleaning it up, it seemed to work a lot better.
So for the next shot, I was working on some statues of people that were in the congregation and this is the final look. I will be animating Medusa walking between these statues.
So up until this point, I have most of my shots for the second scene down, I do in fact have a couple more to work on and clean up. For the next shot, I still have to create my background and then animate Medusa in there. Once I'm done with this, I can move to the final shot and then clean everything up before submissions!
This was quite difficult to animate honestly, the moment she turns and walks into the hall was probably something I really struggled with. But I think overall, I got the movement down and I continued to color and clean the frames in.
I really like her expressions in this shot. I kept my style simple so that I could animate this in time, and it really matches her. Here I was working on her being quiet and trying to calm herself down.
Once I was done working on the animation of Medusa behind the wall, I went into animating her from the front view. This one was a lot easier than the previous one. I have reference for this as well, therefore it became a lot easier to do the rough animations and clean it up.
