the innate-ness of sexual orientation being compared to gender identity is infuriating.

"gender identity" can change. it can go away altogether. it can be chosen voluntarily. the only thing that makes someone a gender is them saying they're that gender. identity above all, even reality.

sexuality cannot change. it cannot be chosen. no matter what someone calls themself, their sexuality will always remain the same.

i've called myself a lot of things in my life - “straight with homosexual temptations,” a bi girl who would never touch a man, a bi man who only likes “men” with vaginas... but my “identity” was not reality. i was born, have always been, and will always be a lesbian, no matter what i call myself. whereas my “gender” is nothing but what i call myself.

it's insulting to compare the two.

I wonder why me, as a transman, acknowledging that I'm female, is seen as "internalized transphobia" or self-hatred... could it be that the people saying this view being female as a negative, the acknowledgement as an insult to oneself? "You're reducing yourself to your sex," as if the female sex isn't something beautiful and expansive. Makes you think

For me. I've always hated porn even though everyone tried to convince me it's normal.

tbh, if you're saying gay men only attracted to males and lesbians only attracted to females is terf bullshit, and because "terf" has been deemed as completely demonic evil to some of you, it gives you leeway to hide your blatant homophobia. as long as you call it transphobic or terfy, then it makes it all right!

in reality, any homosexual man or woman, and honestly random people you find on the streets, would know that you're homophobic. that you don't care about gay men or lesbians. and the reasoning to be less "terfy" and "transphobic" is to then allow the opposite sex into their dating pool, "how do you know you don't like it if you haven't tried it", berating people that they're transphobic and demonizing them into breaking down... you're pushing conversion therapy rhetoric, you're just a homophobe, plain as that.

trying to take gay and lesbian and twisting it around to almost have no meaning anymore makes you just as bad. females cannot be gay men and males cannot be lesbians. calling yourself a lesbian when you're fine being with males and a gay man when you're fine being with females -- it helps twist things around take away any meaning from the sexualities and helps *prove* homophobes points that you can be a lesbian and or gay man and be fine with the opposite sex!

honestly, sexuality is not some grand spectrum some of you like to say it is. it's pretty set in stone. sure, it can take some time for you to accept or even figure out your sexuality, but that alone doesn't make it a spectrum and isn't proof of it.

we're not attracted to identities or your "genders". sexuality is once again based on sex. (yes we all know you like to say that's boiling people down to their genitalia; but then again what is wrong with a lesbian saying they like vagina and a gay man saying they like d*ck? nothing really... it's just another attempt to make homosexuals feel bad and further your attempt to demonize them.) lesbians are attracted to females and gay men are attracted to males -- it's as simple as that!

we just want our sexualities to be respected, our boundaries to be respected, and for people to stop using our sexuality when it doesn't apply to you. we're tired of the homophobia. we know this is purely based around homophobia, for some reason, as there's no energy or even attempts to go after heterosexuals like this. there is a complete fixation on homosexuals. is it to make yourself feel better and reassure your "identity"? to try and prove homosexuals can be into you? fetishism? or do you just like calling yourself gay/lesbian to use the slurs?
