I feel like peoples reaction to "video games make you violent" has created this mindset where you're crazy for thinking a video game can influence your mindset AT ALL which is so fucking annoying given the amount of political propaganda in video games

if you think this is a war between israel and hamas and not an attempt by the IDF to occupy gaza and permanently displace or kill every last palestinian living there, you must’ve either not seen the videos and photos coming out of gaza or you’re just spineless in the face of genocide

in the past day, an israeli woman named shani loukan was sexually assaulted and murdered. her naked body was then paraded around by hamas.
she was a mother to a young child. her own mother had to identify her body by watching the horrific video online.
i don't know enough to speak on this war, so i won't be, but remember this: when men wage war, it's women who pay the price. it's women who are sexually abused, degraded, and tortured.
there hasn't been a single war in history that has avoided this. revenge rape. comfort women. forced prostitution. every war, every side, every time.
no israeli woman deserves this treatment. no palestinian woman deserves this treatment. there are no women in this war who deserve this.
if you can't acknowledge that, your humanity is lost.

- …the seventh man that you shot, did you say to yourself: “I’m out of control, I’m killing people! I need help-”
- No, no. No I thought to myself: those men are out of control. I’m sick and tired of those men out there thinking they can control us and do whatever they damn well please with our bodies! And then that they can get away with it ‘cause it’s a male dominant society and “we’re gonna treat you the way we want to, abuse you and destroy you, it don’t matter to us ‘cause… we can get away with doing that.”

i’ve seen a LOT of people say that artemis hates terfs or whatever and i always have to laugh purely bc of this myth in particular, about daphne & the huntresses of artemis:
“Leukippos (Leucippus) fell in love with Daphne, but despaired of winning her to be his wife by an open courtship, as she avoided all the male sex. The following trick occurred to him by which to get her. Leukippos was growing his hair long for the river Alpheios (Alpheus). Brading his hair as though he were a maiden, and putting on woman’s clothes, he came to Daphne and said that he was a daughter of Oinomaos (Oenomaus), and would like to share her hunting. As he was thought to be a maiden, surpassed the other maidens in nobility of birth and skill in hunting, and was besides most assiduous in this attentions, he drew Daphne into a deep friendship. The poets who sing of Apollon’s love for Daphne make an addition to the tale; that Apollon became jealous of Leukippos because of his success in his love. Forthwith Daphne and the other maidens conceived a longing to swim in the Ladon, and stripped Leukippos in spite of his reluctance. Then, seeing that he was no maid, they killed him with their javelins and daggers.“  (Pausanias, Description of Greece 8. 20. 2 (trans. Jones) (Greek travelogue C2nd A.D.) (source)
they literally killed this man for pretending to be a woman in order to infiltrate their female-only space. but please, tell me again how artemis would totally accept males as her huntresses.

you need to be earnest. you need to tell people that you love them. you need to speak on how you’re feeling honestly. you need to be sentimental. you need to stop letting the fear of other people laughing at you have so much control over how you express yourself. you need to get over yourself. you need to be embarrassing but true.

it truly infuriates me that a good portion of womens clothing feels like… fake clothing. movie prop clothing. clothing that is not actually meant to be worn by human beings (but is still full priced). im thinking of those wafer fuckin thin cotton hoodie sweaters and those flimsy stretchy skin-tight “denim” jeans.

Lundy bancroft legit has dedicated his life to working directly with abusive men to interrupt their thinking and behavioral patterns, and making said patterns knowable and nameable by women. That is what male feminist ally behavior actually looks like. Obviously the every day person isn’t going to spend their entire life doing the kind of work he does, but on a micro level, recognizing and speaking about male pattern aggression/manipulation and disrupting those patterns in yourself and those around you is something you can actually be striving for.
That means not using your newfound gender awareness as a way to make women caretake your guilt, or coming up with clever ways to “overcome” that guilt, or using feminist rhetoric as a social capital or manipulation tool. It’s not that we’re not all very glad that you’ve learned how to cry – it would just be nice if you weren’t just doing all the same old stuff “once more, but with feeling.”
