Random headcanon as I attempt to reconcile the differences in how Dragon Ball Z portrays Gohan's Potential Unleashed state (or Ultimate, or Mystic, or whatever other name it's had) vs how it was portrayed in DB GT and DB Super. It doesn't quite gel with canon, but then again the actual canon doesn't always gel with itself.

The original manga and DBZ pretty much stated that Ultimate Gohan was incapable of becoming a Super Saiyan anymore, and that when he was mopping the floor with Super Buu, he was in his base form, (which IMO was SO COOL). Of course that doesn't line up with DB Super, which has Potential Unleashed as a form in itself that Gohan can forget how to use, often showing how out of shape he is when he can barely manage Super Saiyan, let alone go Ultimate.

But what if after having his potential unleashed, it meant that Gohan's base form is always capable of being as strong as his most powered-up Super Saiyan form, but that when he's out of practice it can be difficult to power up in base without slipping into Super Saiyan, with the emotional instability and ki drain inherent to that form?

Like it's easier to work himself into a frenzy and go Super Saiyan 2, but that's much less effective in battle than keeping a calm mind and powering up to full power while keeping himself under control.

That could also possibly explain his new Beast mode too, since Gohan isn't a training savant like Goku, he probably just defaults to the training methods Goku taught him during the Cell Saga. And during that saga, Goku's rationale was "If Super Saiyan becomes our new base, then what happens if we go Super Saiyan while ALREADY Super Saiyan? New form!" Beast could work like that. Gohan figuring out how to power up from his new baseline.

Hell, if it's based on mindset, then the Potential Unleashed "form" works a bit like Ultra Instinct, and where did Gohan get that power? A Kai. Given UI is (I think?) an Angel technique, it would track that Kais had a proto-version of it. And the fact that Beast has white hair similar to Angels and Kais? Food for thought.

Bulla is the daughter of one of the smartest and richest people in the world. And yet for some odd reason, she's never escorted to school with any kind of security. Usually, her father (aka Bulma's eye candy) picks her up from school with what everyone assumed to be some prototype invention suit that allows him to fly. However, there have been times she's all on her own.

On paper, she'd be the perfect bait for ransom money. And yet, almost no one bothers to try.

Once in a blue moon, Bulla gets shoved in a random limo all too easily. The assialants are too proud of their scheme to realize that Bulla's too calm and smirking in the backseat.

She easily offers up the phone number of her parents when the kidnappers ask. Despite Bulla being missing for several hours, her mother picks up the phone casually.

"We've got your daughter," one of the kidnappers say.

They swear they can hear her and her father snickering before she says "Okay."

"If you want her back, we want fifty million–"

Bulma, Vegeta, and Trunks erupt in laughter before they hang up. This pisses off the kidnappers to no end.

As they're busy redialing the number, they don't realize Bulla is right behind them, floating in midair and cracking her knuckles.

She arrives home moments later, laughing alongside her family.
