This abandonment can be a lot to hold sometimes. We deserve better.
Alt text:
[watercolor illustration of a woman looking out a window] It is more important to them to continue to be maskless than to ever see me again. It is more important to them to be "back to normal" than to keep me safe, than to keep themselves safe.
Their love was always paper thin. I was always disposable to them. Whether I knew it or not.
[watercolor illustration of a woman in a n95 mask] But I know that every member of my community deserves safety and connection. So I know I deserve it too.

Somewhere, deep down, I have a burning hope for better. When I close my eyes, I can see something better.
ID: photo of an Eastern Kingbird singing with a paper speech bubble overlaid beside its beak reading Never forget that it's not normal for everyone to be this sick. And don't let anyone make you believe there's nothing we can do about it.
Normalizing masking can change everything.

Alt: If you can prevent a death, the end of a life, why wouldn't you?
If wearing a mask can save a life, why won't you?

Bird: American Goldfinch
Alt: When you abandon vulnerable people, you abandon a safer future for yourself and everyone you love.
Invest in your future, care for those around you.
Wear a mask.
