Hi :) I’ve finally finished Caraval :D I’m going to start Bonjour Tristesse by Françoise Sagan in French now. It’s been a really long time since I’ve read anything in French, and I feel as if I’m missing out on a whole world of undiscovered literature. Do you have any French favourites, be it a classic, contemporary or fantasy novel? In what languages do you usually read?

Hi :) I finished this on Friday and wow!!! I absolutely loved her writing!! The story was really captivating and I felt really immersed in Harriet’s (the main character’s) world. I’d give it a strong 4,5/5 :D In other news, I’m continuing Caraval, which I started a month ago (I know, I know) and it’s starting to pick up the pace :) I’m not sure if I’ll have a lot of time to read in the upcoming weeks because I’ve got to start studying for some exams and finalise my uni application, so we’ll see :)

Hi :) I read this a week ago and I’m still not sure of my feelings for this book. I didn’t like 3/4 of this book. It was kind of meh and I didn’t really like one of the main characters for most of the book. But towards the end it gradually got better, so at the end I rated it with a 3/5. I was kind of hoping for something better so I’m slightly disappointed :( What have you been reading?

Hi :) A bit of a different set up for this book :) I finished this on Friday and wow!! I loved the writing and the story is so interesting! I picked it up for a read-a-long on instagram (I’m @radio-reads on there if you didn’t know :)) and I’m so glad I did! It was quite easy to read even though it was written in the 1800s and the length of the novel is just perfect. It doesn’t drag on as some of the older novels tend to do :) i’d rate it with 4,5 stars out of 5 :D Have you read it?

Hi :) These past few weeks I have been exhausted because of school but thankfully I’m now on holiday for the next week :D I’m going to London and I’m so excited! I finished this some time ago. I’m not sure whether I a 100% liked it. I mean, it was great getting to read about Simon and Baz once again, but I felt extremely melancholic when I read some parts. It’s probably because I don’t like sad romance stories that don’t have the perfect ending :) Not that this doesn’t have one :) Overall I’d rate it with a 3,5-4 stars out of five. In other reading news, this week has been utter chaos. At one point I was juggling 4 books: Frankenstein, which I’m reading (and that I finished two days ago) for a read-a-long, The Hating Game, which I started reading to sort of get me reading a bit more as I was in a sort of reading slump the week before ever since I finished Wayward Son, Caraval, which I started after finishing Wayward Son, and Dievų Miškas, it’s a book that I have to read for school (a lithuanian classic about the life of a lithuanian scholar while he was in a concentration camp). I managed to reduce the number books that I was reading at the same time by finishing The Hating Game and Frankenstein :) And I’ve also decided to pick up The Little Friend during the holidays and put off Caraval for next week when I’m back at school :) Okay, this is extremely long :) What are you currently reading? Any new favourites?

Hi :) I’ve been just a tad inactive, haven’t I? :D I’ve been busy with school work, but I’ve got a free moment now so here we go :D I finished this in 3 days, it was just that captivating :D I’ve always tended to read Leigh Bardugo’s novel extremely fast and I was ill so extra reading time ;D I really liked this book! It was interesting, the characters were quite likeable and the Grishaverse world is just so intriguing :D I’d rate it 4,5 stars out of 5 and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series :D At the moment I’ve just started Caraval but I’m still in a bit of a reading hangover if you can call it that from Wayward Son so I’m not sure when I’ll finish it :) What have you been reading this weekend?

Hi :) I finished this this monday just in time for the month’s end :D This book was just as good as any concerning Terry Pratchett and his Discworld series :D It made me laugh and marvel at his pun mastery. Overall, it may not be my favourite book from the Discworld series but it was just as interesting as all of the other books that I read :) I’d rate it 3.5 out of 5 :) I’m now reading two books at the same time ;D The first one is Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein for a read-a-long and the second one is The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee :) What’s the last book that you read?

Hi :) I wanted to try out doing a recap of this month’s reading even though i still haven’t finished my last book from this month’s tbr list :) So I read a total of 7 books (counting the one I’m currently reading) and a play for school. Here’s what I read: - A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Orlando by Virginia Woolf ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Sourcery by Terry Pratchett Next month I’m planning on borrowing books from a friend and the library and I’m participating in a Frankenstein read-a-long so I don’t know if I’ll get the opportunity to do a recap :) Have you read any of these books? What was your favourite book that you read this month?

Hi :) I’ve just finished this book :) I really liked it :D I loved Virginia Woolf’s way of writing (her choice of words is just beautiful) and the story didn’t feel like it dragged on even though it spanned multiple centuries. Was a bit confused at times on what was happening in the story but luckily the narrator or biographer cleared things up afterwards :) Overall, I’d rate it 4 stars out of 5 :D What was the last book you read?

“My cousin Helen, who is in her 90s now, was in the Warsaw ghetto during World War II. She and a bunch of the girls in the ghetto had to do sewing each day. And if you were found with a book, it was an automatic death penalty. She had gotten hold of a copy of ‘Gone With the Wind’, and she would take three or four hours out of her sleeping time each night to read. And then, during the hour or so when they were sewing the next day, she would tell them all the story. These girls were risking certain death for a story. And when she told me that story herself, it actually made what I do feel more important. Because giving people stories is not a luxury. It’s actually one of the things that you live and die for.” –Neil Gaiman

Hi :) I finished this one earlier this week and it was great! It started a bit slowly so I unconsciously took a small break from it to read a play for school, but when I picked it up again, the pace picked up and it was great :D I absolutely loved the author’s writing which I could feel through the translation and especially loved the chapter with the guy who built a haunted mansion full of characters and figures from banned literature (it reminded me of Fahrenheit 451 :D). Overall, I really liked the book and I’d rate it 4 stars out of 5 :)
