a fun thing about buddie is that i think if eddie came out to buck, it would (to buck) just solidify that eddie is not and has never been an option for him. eddie likes men, and eddie told him that this changes nothing when he came out. so it can't change anything. it won't.

meanwhile, to eddie, coming out to buck would essentially be a love confession. because if he wants men, of course he wants buck. that goes without saying (it does not).

Thinking about murderbot being a rental unit and how that interacts with its trauma

Bc like. The most important bots it meets are all from vastly different situations and backgrounds than it. ART has been valued and loved by humans its whole life - its dad is literally the captain and its sister is one of its crew! And they clearly cherish, love, and value ART. Miki is a less sophisticated bot, but also so clearly loved and cherished. They ordered it to protect itself! And it had the capability to reject that order! That says a lot about the love, trust, and mutual respect they had for one another.

Even Three, another secunit, seems pretty different from murderbot. It was made by the company it’s working for and the vibe I got was that it and the other two secunits were sort of permanently assigned to that ship?

Which, look. Humans imprint on anything and build familiarity. The more time we spend with something the more sentimental we might get about it. If Three was on that ship for a long time, I wouldn’t be shocked if at least some of the humans on board were pretty chill or even affectionate towards it (in a condescending and dehumanizing way probably, but still). And even so, the length of time spent around the same secunits clearly allowed Three to establish bonds with its fellow secunits if nothing else!

But being a rental unit means murderbot went from group to group. The other secunits it worked with were always Temporary Company (will never see them again after this contract likely) and also Active Threats to murderbot bc they’re the most likely to notice murderbot is rogue and be forced to report it. Even the humans were Temporary, so even if there were Nice Humans they’d be swapped out with Bad Humans soon enough.

Like. No wonder it insists it doesn’t have friends. If you don’t have Feelings about people then those feelings can’t be hurt when you’re inevitably torn away and never allowed to see them again (or have your very memories of them torn out of you and erased)

(Feelings about media are okay because the media can go with you, right?)

It’s funny to point at Three when murderbot makes sweeping generalization about secunits bc it’s an unreliable narrator but also. Just having feelings about how specifically being a rental unit effects murderbot and its relationships to others

like honestly. for real. if i was on my 49th hour of knowing i was bisexual. and on my first ever date with someone of the same sex. and that person publicly called me out for being in the closet and gave me shit about it in front of my best friend. and then (despite knowing ahead of time that i was just now figuring myself out, and also knowing that i had a super weird relationship with that friend, and also knowing that i was really nervous but excited to try things out) left me on the curb in front of a restaurant. after calling an uber and waiting until the car was literally pulling up outside to say oh - no actually this car is just for me; you can find your own way home. and then didn’t call me at all until my best friend who was panicking about his own relationship and who i had just come out to for the first time told me to call the guy so i called him and invited him to coffee to beg him to give me another chance. despite the fact that i never even did anything wrong in the first place. and i have a known history for sublimating my own identity in relationships that are wrong for me because of my anxious attachment trauma. and then i spend six months dating this person only to later find out that he dated my first love for years and strung her along to the point of being engaged. and then essentially left her at the altar when her mom was dying. and then called her crazy for dating me. and then dumped me. and then hooked up with me on a rebound and then said he was glad my best friend moved away because the competition was finally gone. like for real if I found out that people were rooting for me to end up with this guy……….. i would burn my own house down in real life.

I kind of wonder if Eddie actually talked to Buck about moving out or if Buck just assumed and started apartment hunting.

I’m going to assume Eddie will pull a full Uno reverse and spend the summer shooting down all the apartments Buck looks at and giving him bad references to any landlords who call him. And telling Buck he doesn’t need to move out until he finds the right place.

The ep can start out with the audience being like why we meant to care abt this random apartment and random people as the big emergency

Thinking about Buck in his coma dream.

How he had to complete his task to return. That task being how important he is to his family especially to Bobby. Because being there, pushing Bobby to get back up during his breakdown was so pivotal in Bobby being alive instead of dead like in the coma dream.

Buck is unmoored now. He questions what his spot is now. Where does he fit? He’s not in a coma anymore and yet Bobby is still dead. Did the task mean anything at all if this is how it ends? Buck needs to process it all. And I think we need to see it happen.

no but actually you're telling me that buck, the clinger. the one who falls apart when the 118 falls apart. that guy, says he's transferring. says the 118 is just a number. and none of the other people sitting in the room dragged him away for an intervention???

- the girl squad back together ( Athena Karen Maddie and Eddie)

- Ravi Begins (not so much of his childhood but what led him into becoming a firefighter. Also get Peter Krause a feature there)

- Buddie becoming canon come on already we are SO TIRED SISTER

- Chimney still grieving (or exploring his grief)

- Eddiestache and Tia Pepa. If you can include some of him yelling at his parents, better

- I'd love to see Carla again, I know Cocoa Brown said some stupid shit but make her apologise

- Chimney having imposter syndrome about becoming a Captain

- Buck looking for new places all the time but never actually moving out cause he doesn't want to until they actually sit down and talk about it (or have a heated argument in the kitchen where one of them yells BECAUSE I LOVE YOU and they kiss or whatever or Eddie gets in his face with the pointing finger and for a moment time just stops and they both look at each other and realise something and they don't kiss THEN but they definitely understand)

- Peter Krause showing up. I don't care if it's a Shannon Kim type of storyline I need more!!!!!

- Maddie and Eddie interacting more, Eddie actually being close to a baby for the first time since Chris (and maybe exploring what he felt when he learned Chris had CP)

- Uncle Buck caring for Jee while Maddie and Chim go out

- Please leave Maddie alone next season she need to be happy and thriving DON'T GIVE HER PPD AGAIN

Sad that Buck didn’t get a good resolution at the end. He is now homeless, no full understanding or apology (Eddie), and we saw no real acceptance of Bobby’s passing, or even of him wanting to transfer or not still.
