I’ve seen a couple posts about how Danny’s acting as Aaron with John has been lifeless and now it’s up again with Robert back.

I think that’s the point. Aaron picked safe, reliable and boring John. Or so he thought. From what I can see John has slowly turned Aaron into complacent and agreeable to just keep the peace. He latched onto John for stability, emotionless stability. His spark, his sass and his confidence seem to have gone out the window. We talk about Roberts swagger but let’s not forget Aaron had some too. It was rough to Robert’s smooth, hence their fireworks.

Anyway I’m still catching up so I could be wrong in all this but John’s worried Robert is going to remind Aaron who he is, and in that, what he really wants. Because who Aaron is with John is who he thinks he needs to be to ensure he never gets hurt again.

This John Sugden sounds like a colossal asshole. Robert is a nightmare (complimentary). But at least he has redeeming qualities.

@saras-almanac reminded me that he also nominated himself for a Hero Award. Not sure if the people who weren't watching before are aware of that.

And then Aaron had a little mental health crisis over the anniversary of Gordon's death and so John couldn't go to his awards ceremony. He had to stay home and comfort Aaron because he's a Hero. And then Tracy and Vic bought him drinks in the pub to celebrate his heroics instead.

He's the worst.
