a hasty scoff, she rolled her eyes in amusement. “ don’t keep bragging, you already got your way. ” she chided, voice playful and a lopsided half smile on her face as she watched the other’s friend stand up and leave.
she nodded. “ we were! tell me, where the hell does an idea like that surface from? ” Valerie’s head shook with incredulity. “ there’s interesting ideas, and then there’s straight up FUNNY. ”
“I think it may be encouraged by a doting and indulging family.” Raf mocked, his amusement dancing in the light of his eyes. As much as Zee was his friend, he much resented the other for his abundance in naivete.
“They’ve yet to bring me my food, y’want to sit?” He jerked his chin over to the newly opened seat. “Seeing as how I am want of a friend.”

she let slip a hushed profanity before looking up to the owner of the voice. although Valerie would prefer to remain unnoticed, particularly after noticing the sun had begun to set. soon enough, she’d find herself among the more questionable characters of the city.
“ i think … ” a dramatic pause, her lips twisted down as she stopped in thought. “ it needs a little tweaking. something more CREATIVE. or at least, something less dangerous. ”
“See?”

“The lady agrees with me.” Raf said, tipping back in his chair with an arrogant grin on his face. A glare was shot from Raf’s friend, Zee, to the woman that had joined their little debate and with a final huff of frustration, Zee shoved back in his chair, and excused himself. Raf’s eyes widened. “I thought we were offering sound advice...no?” He looked over to the stranger for confirmation.

“You know...”

“I’m gonna go out on a limb and say, ‘that’s a terrible idea.’ What do you think?” He turned to the person beside him that he had caught eavesdropping, asking for a comment while simultaneously acknowledging them.

Being a contract killer on the side was one thing, having a brother who did the same was another. alba knew raf found clients in the strangest of places, and she was sure that this place brought in a fair few, but she wasn’t expecting it now. a furrow formed over her brow as she looked back at him. “What? The contract is here?”
“Naw, but I’m sure I could scout a few in a place like this. No?”

rachel had planned to treat herself to a night out at merle’s, but had unknowingly stumbled into club silk instead. it was a packed night, and so she had been sat with someone else because of lack of tables. oblivious to the all but naked workers around her, rachel was occupied with the menu when she spoke. “kinda a small menu, huh? i expected more, to be honest. and where’s the bar, anyway? isn’t bar in the name? you’d think there’d be a bar.”

“There is a bar,” Raf chuckled, nodding his chin over to it beyond the throng of people, it was difficult to make out but eventually a small enough space broke between people to display the full bar, its bartenders busy in a flurry of drink making. “Do you need me to get you a drink?” It was one of few nights off that he had, between keeping his contracts and his regular job he’d had few in between. “Or food? I know the bartenders.”

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” he breathed to himself, looking down at the grisly scene before him. “Can’t believe a human could do something like this. Then again, never underestimate the human mind.” He turned to the person standing next to him. “You know the victim? Not a cop. Just asking. Curiosity and all that.”

“Yeah, no, I didn’t, but it looks personal. Don’t you think?” Raf glanced at the man, his hands in his pockets, lax stance but grim faced. “You know...them?”

[TYLER POSEY, HE/HIM, 24 ] Another mouth to feed. [ RAFAEL "RAF" DOMINGUEZ ] has been in New Seattle for [ ALL HIS LIFE ]. The [ BOUNCER ] is said to be [ AMICABLE & FORGIVING ] but also [QUICK-TEMPERED & FICKLE ] so I'd watch your step around them. Rumor has it they're a [ CONTRACTOR] and [ IS NEUTRAL ]. They're said to be [ UNKNOWN ] so I guess they're in [ DANGEROUS ] Territory for now.
- Brother to Alba Dominguez
- Raf is loyal to his family and would choose their side above all to a fault.
- Born and raised in New Seattle, he knows the streets like he knows every one of his scars.
- His training took the form of street brawls and going out beyond the wall to fight the undead.
- He was always in one scrap or another, had a little network of people who would bet on his fights for entertainment and because he was so good at it, soon enough he was killing for pay all under the guise of his friendly exterior.
- Eventually, he got hired on at the brothel as a bouncer.

“Thank you.” she mused with a large smile, walking through the door to the club and talking a little louder over the music. “Meh, just that one regular again— but I may just cut that one and uh– get my hands dirty.” it had been a while since she had been really desperate for a contract and they had been few and far between. she knew her brother always had someone on the go, therefore asking him a favor was just a small thing she was willing to do in order to break her desert eagle out once more.
Raf’s mouth curled up at the corner and he gave a slight nod. “Yeah, I’ll send ‘im over.” He knew his sister, knew the itch under his skin was twin to hers.
Some of the patrons acknowledged him and Raf returned the facor, giving a nod here and there, throwing in a wink or two. Popularity wouldn’t be the exact thing he was after, but it made it easier to operate. He turned his attention back to Alba. “You just signal when you’re ready.”

“Yes, we’re not going to talk about that.” Elena said with another swig. She tried to sound as threatening as possible but she had never been good at pulling that off unless she had to. “Of course not. Nobody’s perfect.”
“I’m gonna have to stop you there. I’m perfect.”
Raf waggled his brows and offered up a broad grin. “Okay, we won’t talk about it. What would you like to talk about instead?”

Sylvie ignored his playful mimicking of the infected after death. She knew it was useless to try and convince him otherwise since they had had this conversation many times before. Instead, she chose to focus on getting her field journal back from the annoying pest. “Maybe because it’s my work journal and everything in there is literally confidential. You don’t want to get me fired, do you? Then you’d have to let me stay at your place because it would be your fault,” she told him.
Raf couldn’t make much sense of-- or, rather, find interest in-- the plant names or scribbles of the girl so he handed it back. “Guess not. Y’can come over whenever, you know? Don’t let your employment stop you.”

“Thanks, I wish that were true.” Elena said taking another long swig as she could feel the alcohol start to take effect. “It’s not that there’s no one I like, it’s more that people tend to keep away from the woman who’s last husband was murder under mysterious circumstances. Everyone saw him as perfect so they automatically blamed me.” She sighed and drank again, already having said more than she was planning on saying.
“Whaaaa- really? Murder?”
“Was he perfect?” Raf leaned forward, intrigued.

What Elena really wanted was for her future children to have a better life than her, but that wasn’t something she’d bring up to someone who was practically a stranger. She had become so good at faking the perfect life. “Yeah well, someone around here has to be. I would also kinda need someone to have kids with.”
“That won’t be hard for ya whenever you get around to it.” Raf took another swig of her bottle and handed it back to her. He felt pretty good with alcohol in his system. “No one ya like around here?”

She crossed her arms over her chest, letting out a huffing sigh. “I’m not worried about someone who is ‘infected’. They’re normal people just like the rest of us. Just trying to live their lives.” Sylvie knew that a lot of people didn’t hold the same ideals as her, but it never really bothered her. She didn’t think that they were vicious killers while still alive, though.
“Now if you would please, my notebook?” She asked, hand extended as she waited for him to hand it back. If she knew Raf, which she did, he would still try and read her notes, and the project was supposed to be kept a secret and not spread for everyone to read.
“Yeah, until they die or accidentally fall off a ladder and bam! Got a undead menace roaming the streets.” His teeth clicked together as he mimed biting, then he held the book aloft and opened it. “How come y’don’t want me seein’ this?”

Riley couldn’t help but smile slightly. “Just by talking. You’re already annoying me.” She replied, before lifting her head from her plate to look at him.
“Huh.”
“What would you have me do instead?”

“such a jerk.” she muttered as he waggled his brows at her, a small smile over her own features. “well, if you’re at the club, i figured you could send a contract my way— because I’m your favorite sister and all. And because i’m bored shitless tonight.” She gave a frustrated sigh before looking up at him again. “or I could just bother you regardless until you give me a contract to get me to shut the fuck up? Choice is yours.”
“You’re my only sister.” He gave a huff of a laugh,” yeah, yeah, I’ll send a fresh one your way.”
“You got a long shift tonight?” Raf asked and when they came upon the backdoor to the club, he pulled it open for his sister. Loud music spilled into the alleyway, but he was used to it.

“Sure I want children some day, but not until we live in a world where I could let them go outside without being worried for their safety. Until that happens, my students will have to be enough.”
“That’s...really responsible of ya.”
