Mountains. They surrounds us, watching us from afar.

Turin is their city, you can spot them from every angle, but only if the weather doesn’t suck! Sometimes, they cheer you up from the window, while whispering “come to see us!”

Right before our Christmas holidays, our friends from RAI called us to create the promo for this year’s ski world championship event, hosted in Cortina, in the wonderful Dolomites. It’s an event that involves more than 500 millions of viewers from all over the world. This short animation is inspired by the vintage sport postcards aesthetic and it's a tribute to Sport, Nature and to the athletes.

First Home  from Studio Pigeon on Vimeo.

Long & Foster First Home service helps clients to find the right home by including all of their must-haves and deal-breakers. The animation was meant to encourage the clients in their thirties to participate in the program.

The video focuses on the young couple and the First Home guide who assists them through the process of buying a house. The guide helps the couple to avoid the dangers that are on the way and takes them on a surreal journey through time and space to present their dreamed home.

The animation was meant to evoke the classy and elegant feeling of the service with a pinch of suspense. That's why the style was inspired by the classic Noir films and spy craze of the 1960s. Our inspirations were also old American movie titles and poster designs from artists such as Saul Bass.

A mixed-media approach based on photos and videos helped in achieving the retro feeling.

This video is a free interpretation of an extract from the dystopian science-fiction novel « Nineteen Eighty-Four » by George Orwell, published on 1949.

In a totalitarian society ruled by domination, violence and based on ignorance, the main character, Winston, breaks Party’s rules. He is arrested and tortured by O’Brien, whose role is to re-educate those who have committed a crime against Big Brother.
