This whole sequence of the coming of age ceremony made me think that Yan Lin's dad Yan Mu actually realised he was Xue Dingfei. otherwise the looks, the cryptic dialogue doesn't make sense. esp addressing Dingfei's mother right in front of him...also Xie Wei asking if Madam Yan (his mother) died peacefully and him listening to the explanation and bowing afterwards may have just solidified the whole thing for Yan Mu. I loved the way the whole thing was portrayed without the need for exposition fairy. a lot of silent comunnication, excellent cinematography... and Zhang Linghe's insane face card

Xie Wei at the Yan family shrine, bowing to his mother - is such a gorgeous gorgeous scene. Also, the way this drama is filmed is exquisite - that shot of the tear falling...

Honestly, I am loving Xie Wei x Yan Lin relationship so much; some guest comments that it almost comes across as XW is YL's older brother instead of a teacher and knowing they are cousins, it's glorious. I loved the whole coming of age sequence but this was my favorite: XW remaining utterly calm even as Xue psycho bursts in with troops and imperial edict and insisting on finishing the ceremony and bestowing the courtesy name on Yan Lin...

Love the name he gave but also the look on the face of the Duke Yan who knows this is his beloved nephew, back...

Xie Wei's maternal side is as good as his paternal is awful. The more we see of Xues, the more I loathe them and I am utterly sad that the drama will no way no how keep the novel's ending for Xue Daddy.
