the crows are so young. they're so young. they make fun of wylan for playing the flute and being a bad criminal. they love waffles. they mock kaz's bad haircut. matthias mentally addresses kaz only with insults for nearly the whole two books. they have all been jealous of each other showing other people attention at some point -- jesper is jealous of anyone kaz gives attention to. matthias is jealous of anyone nina gives attention to. kaz is jealous of how comfortable the others are with each other. wylan is jealous of kuwei flirting with jesper -- they're all insecure at some point. nina gets mad at them for eating her cookies. they're all horny and fantasize about their crushes while actively running for their lives. they all want to kill the woman they kidnapped because she's whiny. they tease inej for sounding philosophical. they have secret hand signals. jesper and nina make sex jokes all the time and love to make others blush. they spite each other. they threatened to tattletale on each other to each other. they compete over who has the biggest bounty on his head. inej uses "being a matthias" as an insult. kaz and jesper have a physical scrap and have to be pulled apart by an Adult. i adore them so much

still can't believe that Jesper, who frequently forgets things he did and said, was able to remember every freckle, every eyelash, every slight curve of Wylan's face, and the exact color of his eyes, so vividly enough that he could recount it to another person even though he had only known that face for a few days, and been apart from it for about two weeks. One of the most beautifully romantic things in the entire Grishaverse and to be frank we have yet to give it its flowers

Okay. You guys don't understand I Need Jack Wolfe's gender. They're a fucking fae prince so they can steal someone else's with a good old fashioned "May I have your pronouns?" But I want whatever the fuck he has going on and I want it NOW.

I think more media should narratively punish parents for not listening to their kids and specifically I think it should punish them in cruel and terrifying ways. I want real life parents to go through life with a healthy fear that if they ignore their children's boundaries a witch might cook and eat them

I am WAY too obsessed with Jack Wolfe's immaculate tenor voice. I swear that man was born of a siren. 10/10 would follow that voice into the depths of the ocean again. Lure me to the bottom of the sea and eat my soul. I consent!

Jesper’s relationship with his dad is so underrated. We see so many characters with unforgivable, harmful parents like Wylan’s. We see characters with good but absent parents like Inej’s and Kaz’s. 

Jesper’s dad is different. He’s good and present and harmful. When Colm says he didn’t raise Jesper to be a gambler and a criminal, the response is,

“I love you, Da. I love you with all my lying, thieving, worthless heart, but yes, you did.”

And we actually get to see a good parent get told they made mistakes. We actually get to see him try to make up for those mistakes. The reason Colm Fahey is such a good parental character isn’t because he’s perfect, it’s because he fails and he recognizes it and keeps trying. That trait is so important in parents but so rarely represented.
