Regarding your post about YouTube using ai. In your post you kept writing a.i. as a.L., which confused me when I was listening to it with my screen reader.

Thanks for letting me know, it was a tweet I quoted so I updated the text on mine to read properly. My only guess is that the original poster wrote it that way to avoid either the twitter algorithm or muted terms

One of the core problems with YouTube though that it's had for a LONG time is that they're actively hostile towards their userbase. Make videos harder to monetize, make videos easier to get demonetized for saying certain "adult" words (like suicide, rape, or pedophilia, making legitimate videos discussing these topics into a clown show because they have to censor the words or god forbid say "grape" and "unalive"), make it easy for false companies to instigate copyright takedowns of things they don't own, censoring (just refusing to post/show) comments that mention certain topics like 'feminism' or other 'hot topics' even if it's a serious and legitimate discussion, don't allow people to block channels or users, demonetizing and unlisting videos posting LGBTQIA+ topics [https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-features/lgbtq-youtube-lawsuit-censorship-877919/], forcefully change how media is categorized (Someone's video was changed to 'for kids' simply when it has 'mickey mouse' in it and youtube would not let them change it back), and of course most recently the AI AGE VERIFICATION, and now auto dubbing and AI "upscaling"! I can't imagine that all of these changes they keep making that NO one can opt out of that use even more resources are somehow more efficient or improve quality of life. Don't forget YouTube is owned by Google. Google has had employees leave because their warnings about AI/tech were ignored [https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2023/may/02/geoffrey-hinton-godfather-of-ai-quits-google-warns-dangers-of-machine-learning]. I have zero faith that YouTube is doing this as an 'oopsie my bad' when their track record has been garbage for about 10 years.

Fuck yeah! Mastercard fucked themselves over by reaching out to their associates (namely Riot Games) to try to censor the backlash they're getting and now SI ESports press is reporting on them.

That is what I call activism building on itself-The calls scared them into making a dumbass move and now they've only put more of a spotlight on their shitty behavior, which only puts more pressure on them.

This is very true. Not to mention that as a teenager myself and many other teens were interacting perfectly well with lots of media intended for a 'mature' or "adult" audience, meanwhile the grown ass men and women pushing these regulations can't handle gay people holding hands or discussions of racism let alone a sex scene on a TV show.

I really think we should stop saying "kid-friendly" and start saying "ad-friendly". We shouldn't indulge these companies and their excuses anymore. I also think that continuing to pretend that this is about "protecting the children" pushes a lot of the blame onto kids and teens, who don't have the political power to push through any of this censorship legislature. Corporations and governments are to blame.

A Brief Expose on 'Collective Shout'

I shared all of this on my BSky but realized I should post it here too because it's extremely important.

Articles about Collective Shout's actions:

I dug through Collective Shout and found an Anti-trans Gender Critical Radfem core, along with LITERALLY every single censorship argument being used in anti-fan spaces VERBATIM🍵

I'm tired of people ignoring this or acting like it's not important. Many of us have been pointing this out since 2015. That's been TEN YEARS.

This is how the leader of the organization Collective Shout talks. We've been saying anti-fan dialogues have roots in anti-porn gender critical/radfem groups and here's another one to prove it. They use the same wording, framing and arguments as hate groups

THIS is how one of their grown ass team members, an adult Christian Nationalist woman talks about these serious issues. She types like a 16 year old anti on tiktok

This all took me less than two hours to find and put together. Always dig! One of the fastest ways is by documenting who the leaders of these groups follow on social media! 'Collective Shout's twitter account was locked, but the founder's and staff's weren't.

Also as is always common with these groups, they also targeted anime & manga with focused claims that it enables "paedophilic culture" and is a "gateway" to child abuse One of the examples they used? Sword Art Online.

No matter who I've ever seen from these organizations driving claims that Anime & Manga are pedophilic and Japan is morally bankrupt unironically believe any trans child is a victim of child abuse

These scenes are designed to make us very uncomfortable. I point out the above not just based on how other people feel about Cuties BUT WHAT SHE HERSELF SAYS "The girls are shown twerking and grinding, fingers in mouths, the camera zooming into the crotch , hands in fake stimulation" she believes these young girls have been used but 'TO A NOBLE END'?

You do not get to call Japan a culture of pedophilia for drawn fiction but when faced with a film that uses real child actors while ALSO agreeing those kids were sexualized in a deeply problematic way, but say its a 'gray area' BECAUSE IT'S FOR "THE GREATER GOOD"? CALL COMING FROM INSIDE!

This was another staff member who changed their tune to conform to the organization
