Drabble prompt: A Little Sleepy

A Little Sleepy: Your muse falling asleep on my muse.

              It was late already, yet both of them were still awake. Watching the most horrible television show they had ever watched. Sting seemed to like it, though, and somehow he got Rogue far enough to watch it with him. It was just like every other show, dramatic, predictable, but somehow interesting. They had already watched an entire season in less than two days.

             Frosch and Lector had watched the first episodes with them, but did not understand what was so interesting about it, so they left to play and get some free fish. When they returned to their dragonslayers, they were stunned to see the two of them locked to the television instead of training and improving their magic.

             The exceed had already fallen asleep, and even Rogues eyes started to ache. The only sound in the dark room came from the television, the only light came from the box as well. Rogue felt Sting's breath on his arm, his weight against his shoulder. It had been like that for quite a while now, but Rogue didn't pay any attention to it. Sting probably used him as a support for his tired body, and Rogue didn't mind.

             When the new episodes started, and all the characters were introduced once again, Rogue finally took his eyes off the screen, opening his mouth to ask how the hell the white dragonslayer could keep himself from moving so long. The words didn't come out when he saw that Sting was already in a deep sleep. How long ago did he fall asleep? Rogue couldn't tell, but he knew Sting would be mad if he found out Rogue kept watching without him. It was Sting who wanted to watch this so badly after all. One of his rare little smiles appeared on his face as Rogue searched with his free hand for the remote control that got lost somewhere in the mess they had made.

             A little sight left Rogue's throat as he leaned back his head, closing his eyes. His lids immediately started to grow heavier, and tiredness took him over, slipping away in an endless dream about the cheesy headcharacters of the show.

       "Heh, you are? That old man from the market gave me some free fish for you, he knows you like that."

       [Rogue petted her head, taking the bag filled with fish out of his pocket.]

The little exceed perked up at her partners voice and ran up to him as fast as she could with her little legs, “Rogue! Fro is so happy to see you."

        "Yes, that was me. And if I am correct, you have fought in the Naval Battle."

"Rogue was the one that fought Gajeel-kun, didn’t he?"

         His statement seemed to get her more talkative, something Rogue didn't mind. He was more of a listener. He was somehow interested in her magic. Instead of fighting herself, she had other people, spirits fight for her. He never paid enough attention when Yukino told him about it, and he regretted that now.

              "I did indeed. It's an interesting kind of magic, having others fight for you. Yukino told me about it several times, but regrettably I never payed much attention. Please tell me more about it."

Lucy slightly gave Rogue a nod at his statement. “That’s right. I have the same magic as Yukino’s — celestial spirit magic." she started. “You’ve seen it at the games, right? The time when I fought Flare and at the Naval Battle?" For some reason, Lucy was slowly, starting being talkative.

But, she’s just stopping herself from talking a lot because she thinks that, she might annoy Rogue if she talks too much — maybe?

         "Hm. We need to sort out some thing in Sabertooth first, but after that, maybe I will pay Fairy Tail a visit indeed."

        "Hm. I never heard about the second master, only the first and third were known to me. What made you quit?"

"You can say that."

       The market place, hu. They liked being there, trying to get free food. Rogue never really minded, but now that he thought about it, it was the perfect place to get lost.

           "Do you know if Frosch was with him? I told her to go find him because she was bored, but I didn't have time to play."

     Stupid. He shouldn't have told her that, he just should've made some time for her. She was his friend, after all.

Even though Rogue’s expression didn’t change Sting could tell that the shadow dragon slayer was worried about his little exceed friend. Come to think of it where had he seen Lector for the last time before they separated? After he recalled where he had seen Lector before he left he looked away a bit while sweat dropping. 

” The market place, he was pestering the owner of the fish stand for a free mackerel ” 

A sigh escaped his lips after he said that. As much as he cared for the exceed he couldn’t help but to wish for Lector to tune his love for fish down a bit. But what could he expect? Lector is a cat after all and cats love fish.
