NOW WITH A DNS NAME!

This has been on my to-do list for a while. IP addresses as URLs are crappy. Especially when you haven’t paid for a static IP... SO! This has been fixed. Our new (and easily remembered) DNS name is: http://adareland.duckdns.org This should work also as a URL to log into the server with in minecraft. Hope this makes things easier for everyone! Note: the old IP address will continue to work fine unless my ISP changes my IP address. If you experience any difficulties accessing the adareland server(s), please let me know!

After the banking system overhaul - on to the next order of business... The server shop system has been lacking for some time now, being rather limited in capability and unable to be applied to player shops. So, as a stopgap measure... Have some vending machines! These handy little guys will vend whatever is available in its local inventory and CAN be owned by players! Meaning YOU can get paid by whoever uses YOUR vending machine! Vend whatever you like! Get paid! Make profits! Even when you’re NOT on the server! Features:  - Choose the owner  - Set a quantity to vend  - Choose marquee colors and message  - Vending machine will not vend/charge customers with an empty inventory  - Vending machine displays “out of order” when empty I still need to work on the new store model. Engineering a new system might take me a while. Inventory management is very difficult considering what I have to work with. But not to worry - sooner or later we’ll be able to set up much larger stores with literally everything imaginable, including item ID’s that are off-limits to the current system!

And now, with our first location conveniently installed in the server spawn area, I’d like to introduce you to the Bank of Adareland - version 2.3. You can now do all kinds of cool things you couldn’t do in version 1.0. As a matter of fact, version 1 was so lackluster, it didn’t even garner an official location on the server. But now we have a real banking platform worthy of the players of Adareland! Features:  - Login authentication via player detector  - Check writing / printing  - Check depositing  - Check history / void functionality  - Check database for security and record keeping  - Printable bank statement  - Automatic timeout to boot idle users after 60 seconds  - New security tweaks  - Market investment platform allows players to buy/sell shares I hope this new version will make the player experience more fun on Adareland! It’s been quite a while, and I’ve been super busy. But I’m super excited to bring something new to the citizens of Adareland: Version 2.x of our banking app! This is version 1.0, and as you can see, it severely lacks any kind of features whatsoever, and doesn’t even include an auto-logout function! This simply will not do at all for a server that emphasizes economy. So I totally re-designed the entire program, and built it from the ground up to offer new and exciting features (including an investment platform), better API management, and lots and lots of tweaks that are sure to bring satisfaction to everyone!

More shots of the Adareland coal plant. :) Still a work in progress! I know the interior is somewhat gloomy, but I really like the environment it creates. You can almost hear the clicking of solenoids and relays, and the overwhelming whirring, banging, and hissing of heavy industrial steam powered equipment. Got a real treat for all you steam lovers this week... This is Adareland’s very own fully-functional coal fired power station. I decided not to go all-out hyper futuristic on this one... I opted for a more traditional design... neoclassical in fact. The building superstructure is symmetrical, but the interior layout is not. It has all kinds of valves, levers, switches, and manual overrides. The boilers themselves CAN and WILL explode if not properly managed. The design incorporates 32 high-pressure boilers, and I’ve-lost-count-how-many converters that convert steam into EU/MJ... which form the mechanics of the four large generators in the generator hall. There is a small amount of computer control in the control room... just enough to clean up the initialization procedures. I want to add an ammeter and a few more statistics monitors, but that’ll come later. Just finished building a new uranium factory in Adareland. This was built as a testbed for my new autosale program, which seems to be running quite smoothly so far. I think in future versions I’d like to add a way to track average profit per hour... it might be a helpful statistic to players who manage large factories. Again, I will be making this autosale feature available to players for a certain (obviously high) amount of in-game cash, or for a small paypal donation to my server. :3 Then build a factory, put your feet up, and let the profits roll in!

How would you like to make money even when you’re not logged in? :D

I’ve now developed a program that will prove useful for players who build factories! This program will automatically pay the player who owns it for goods that the player generates. I’m going to do some stress-testing with this, and see how it goes. If all goes well, which it should, I will make this available to certain players who pay enough in-game money, or make a small donation to my server. :3 Neat, eh?

I just made a roulette machine! ...and it even works too! I think I’ll make a few more fun games to play... and I’m gonna build a casino hotel in Adareland. Because... why the hell not? :D

A new addition to the city on Adareland! A super-duper place to do all kinds of crazy crafting. Still a work in progress for the moment, as I’m too tired to finish it tonight. Dunno if players will use it, but it is certainly available, and specially tuned to crafting on an industrial scale. Players can bring their ME disks, and insert them at the kiosk near the front, and work with any materials included on those disks. All machines dump their products back into the ME array, where players can then craft with them, or add them to another machine. All machines feature hoppers too, for convenient and large loads! Just finished designing and building a test model for a bulk item sales kiosk. This device will empty out ALL of your cobblestone, gravel, and dirt from any ME storage disks that you insert. It will only empty those three items. You can then sell the items at the kiosk, and it will credit the amount to your bank account. Pretty nifty for you guys with bloated ME storage arrays filled with useless trash items, eh? This new kiosk will be available to adareland players starting today. C:
