INSIGHT CARE INTRODUCTORY VIDEO, 2018-2020. For a pilot program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center focused on proactively monitoring and managing patient symptoms when they are at home, I developed some prototype educational materials, including an animated introduction to the program. I co-developed the script, made concept art, storyboards (included below the stills of the video here), and animatic and all assets (adapting from earlier illustrations by Joe Wheeler), recorded and mixed audio, and did all animation for multiple iterations of the video.

WOOD TRANSLATIONS, 2018. Starting with a small whittled object, I reinterpreted the form to a 6 foot-tall charcoal drawing, then to a scaled up 3-D paper “dressform” of the original whittle, then to a polyethylene-and-zip-tie adaptation of the dressform, and then to a wood and polyethylene sculpture that allowed me to play with multiple tools and processes in the wood shop.

ECONOMIC DEMOCRACY AND PLATFORM COOPS (Fine cut animation), 2018. I designed and animated, with Joel Frenzer, a series of animated segments to complement interview footage for a video by Divided Films about economic democracy and platform coops. The video was never completed, so while we produced a fine cut of the animated footage, we didn’t refine it or time it precisely to a final cut of the live action footage or audio.

SYMPTOMATIC PATIENT CURRENT STATE SERVICE MAP, 2017. In anticipation of designing a new service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center that responded to patient communications about symptoms, I built a current state map of symptom triage through extensive workshopping with many stakeholders. The purpose was to build shared understanding of the existing process so we could collectively design the new process. In the course of building the map, it became clearer that there were previously unidentified stages of the process that could be mirrored in the new process.
