RWBY BeoWolf Grimm (Unfinished) 18″ Tall X 22″ Wide
I absolutely love the RWBY animated series and have been wanting to create a 3D Piece of the shows BeoWolf ever since I first saw it. I made the WereWolf that I entered into the California State Fair to work the design out so I could design this guy. This is made from 1/4″ Baltic Birch plywood and like all my other 3D pieces, there is no glue holding this together. This piece is already sanded and will start painting it.

POP Han Solo in Carbonite. I decided to seal my POP Han Solo in Carbonite, so I made a wood frame, cut off Han’s arms and re-glued them, then used a hot glue gun to tilt his head. I also used a rotary tool to give him a mouth and used puff paint to give him eyebrows and added drool coming out of his mouth. I added layers of glue over a month to let it dry. Painted him Hammered Silver.

POP Darth Maul with Spider Body 8″ Tall 12″ Leg Span.
With inspiration from Star Wars Clone Wars Animated Series (where Darth Maul was found alive and pretty much insane) I designed my own spider body for my POP Darth Maul figure. I cut the figure in half to make the piece more realistic.

Chewbacca’s At-St (2016) 18″ tall. I love POP Bobble heads and have have a large collection. A couple of years ago I decided to give some of them “upgrades”. I made this Imperial At-St Walker for my Chewbacca. I designed the At-St with exaggerated proportions. I entered in the 2015 California State Fair woodworking competition and placed 2nd in my division.

Optimus Prime (2017) 24″ Tall 350 pieces. This is my entry for the 2017 California State Fair woodworking competition. It is made from 1/4″ and 1/8″ Baltic Birch plywood and took 4 months to design and build. This is by far the most complicated piece I have designed because everybody knows what Optimus looks like. His design is a combination of several reference pictures.

Alien (2015) 28″ Tall 250 pieces. I like to design my own 3D models using 1/4″ Baltic Birch plywood. I made this Alien for the 2015 California State Fair woodworking competition and won 2nd place in my division. There is no glue holding this together, only 6 locking pieces. This guy took me a month to design and build. I used about a dozen reference photos...I liked the tail in one picture, the head in another, the month in another. So it is a combination of several pictures. I absolutely love how this turned out. It was my daughters idea to use hot glue for the drool around his mouth.

San Diego Co. FireFighter 14″ X 17″ 1989
This is one of my favorite firefighter illustrations. When I went to the San Diego Fire House to take the pictures for the art, the sun was starting to set and it was casting these shadows. I was worried about it at first, but when I started the illustration, the shadows made the art more dramatic.

Roseville Fire 14″ X !7″ Bristle Board 2001
I love designing black and white art. This is an illustration I did for the Roseville Fire Dept in Northern California. I have drawn a lot of Fire Apparatus. To get this pictures I used for the artwork, I got to ride in the basket so they could put me on the top of a 4 story building...a lot of fun.

Red Eyed Tree Frog 12″ X 16″ 2000
I love Red Eyed Tree Frogs because they are sooo colorful. This piece was inspired by a photo in a nature magazine and I thought it would look good in wood, I love the way it turned out. It won an award at the California State Fair Woodworking Competition in 2000.

Bello, sai pa che? Yo ne tahu, ma se bias el los para tu. Translation; Hello, who is that? I don’t know...but if I could touch them. Minions are sooo adorable, I just had to design a piece of them. What would you do if you noticed someone was watching you...in your world.

Scorpion 3D Model 12″ Tall X 16″ Length 2008
3D wood models have been a passion of mine since 2002. I started seriously designing my own 3D pieces in 2007. I studied dozens of pictures of scorpions to come up with this original design. I won and award at the 2008 California State Fair Woodworking Competition. Made of 1/4″ Baltic Birch plywood and using interlocking slotted wood pieces, there is no glue holding this piece together.

Vivi 12″ X 16″ 2015
Vivi from Mystery Skulls “Ghost”. My daughter was cryingat this part of the video because it was so heartbreaking...so I naturally had to do the scene that ripped her poor little heart out. Made from a 3/4″ pine board, cut out with a scroll saw and painted with acrylic paint.

Dr. Strange, Sorcerer Supreme 16″ X 22″ 2014
In his Sanctum Santorum, Dr. Strange uses his Cloak of Levitation, Eye of Agamoth and Book of Ashanti to fight evil. This is the biggest piece I have done so far. I really love the way it turned out, especially the cloak. This is an original piece, using reference material to make sure I got the detail right. I loved Dr. Strange comics when I was groing up and could’t wait until the next issue.

Rocket Raccoon 22″ X 12″ 2015
This piece was inspired by a Skottie Young “Rocket Raccoon” comic cover, I really love his style of art. I had to modify the original art, the moons are smaller (or is Rocket bigger?) and I had to change the coloring a bit, but I tried to stay true to the original art. I really enjoyed doing this piece, even so some of it was a bit tedious...there were over 300 pieces to cut out and some were very small. Just keeping track of everything was a chore. Made from a 3/4″ pine board and painted with acrylic paint.

Venom
13″ X 18″ 2015
The Venom symbiote is a sentient alien that bonds with humans to survive and in return it endows enhanced powers (and turns them psychotic). My girls were very excited when I told them I was going to do this piece. It was inspired by a Chris Oz Fulton drawing. I had to redraw the body to clarify all the muscles, change the face a bit and add all the gooey tendrils. As with all my other pieces, the image was drawn on a 3/4″ pine board, cut out with a scoll saw, shaed with a Dremel tool and painted with acrylic paint.
