If you ask Beatrice to pick one thing Ava does that makes her feel wholeheartedly loved, she would say it’s the way Ava wakes her up in the morning. It’s always with a cup of strong tea, a soft kiss to her cheek, and a softer still “good morning, honey, I’m going to make you some scrambled eggs.” It doesn’t happen often, seeing that she’s an early bird and Ava’s not, but when it does, Beatrice could swear she’s the luckiest girl in the world.
