I miss you! If you're in the mood for it, could you write something about Finn hurting his dominant hand or arm working on a car, and Reader has to help him do things like tie his shoes, button his pants, open jars, wash the opposing side of his body in the shower, etc. Wherever you wanna take it!

You wish you could say this was the first phone call you’d gotten from the hospital

But Finn doesn’t have the best track record with injuries

Usually they’re not too bad

A sprained ankle here, dislocated shoulder there

You’d gotten a little desensitized to it, to be honest

But that didn’t stop you from freaking out when you heard the words “hand” “hood” and “crushed”

You rushed to the hospital and found a rather stoned Finn with his right hand completely covered in bandages and metal splints

Thankfully, it’s not as bad as it looks

The doctor gives him some pain meds and you’re on your way home within the hour

You have to practically carry him inside, take off his shoes and his jeans before plopping him down in bed

At first, you blame his sudden dependency on you on the drugs

But you soon discover the fact that Finn is completely useless with just his left hand

And you discover that by watching him spend ten minutes trying to get his pants on the next morning

While you were standing there offering to help, by the way

But his stubborn ass wouldn’t admit he needed it

It was the button that finally broke him of his pride

After prying at that thing for three full minutes, he let out a dramatic sigh and asked you to do it for him

As it turned out, it wasn’t as embarrassing as Finn thought it would be

In fact, he kind of liked having you help him out

He even asked you to jump in the shower with him

You washed his hair, rubbed him down with the washcloth

Then you helped him with that other shower activity he usually used his right hand for

While his hand heeled, that was your life

Not that you minded it

Opening the milk for his coffee, helping him get dressed, cooking his recipes ‘with’ him, which usually entailed him organizing and reorganizing the ingredients while recounting story after story of how he used to cook these dishes with his mother and grandmother

They were all just reasons for you to spend more time with Finn

And Finn’s need to feel useful drove him to make that time as entertaining as possible

Finn was the kind of guy who fully invested himself in his projects

And now that he finally had to take a break, you had his undivided attention

It was a little like being on vacation, minus the whole crushed hand situation

When his hand did heal and he could finally get back to work, he makes sure to keep that quality time up

And it takes about a month for him to stop handing your jars to open on reflex
