Elain and Azriel may not have a mating bond between them, but they’re still drawn to each other in an unexplainable way. I cannot wait to see the heated moments this connection leads them into. We will likely see them trying to resist their connection for a while, but ultimately, the pull is too strong to ignore.

Something that always makes me smile is the thought of how happy Azriel will be to have Elain to come home to. After a mission or just a long day at the "office," he arrives back at their house and grins from ear to ear, thrilled that after 500 years there's finally someone waiting *just* for him.

Can we just talk about the name "Shadowsinger" cause everyone calls Azriel Shadowsinger. It’s not a love language. It’s a job title. Its like saying “accountant."

So, let’s review some of the times this nickname shows up:

“Send the shadowsinger.” – Jurian

“Get them in and out again, shadowsinger.” – Rhysand

“I hope you can carry three, shadowsinger.” – Jurian again, Gwyn who?

“If any of you interfere, the shadowsinger dies.” – King of Hybern

“Thank you, Shadowsinger.” – Amren

“Is that a threat, Shadowsinger?” – Nesta

“With the shadowsinger’s knife.” – Gwyn

“See you tomorrow, Shadowsinger.” – Gwyn again

Like I’m sorry but at this point anyone could call him Shadowsinger and someone would try to claim it as chemistry. So yes, Gwyn called him Shadowsinger. So did everyone else. So will the baker, the mailman, and probably the next villain.

Anyways, I can’t wait to see what Elain calls him. Because to everyone else, he’s the Shadowsinger. The spymaster. But to her? He won’t be a title. He’ll just be Azriel.

Azriel and Elain Archeron, as Ares and Aphrodite

Well, finally, we have Elain and Azriel in their Greek myths AU? This is the third part to finally complete this trilogy of fanarts created in 2024.

I think the reason I chose them as Ares and Aphrodite is pretty obvious, haha.

And I had to add the dose of Elriel angst that I love so much (sorry).

Okay but seriously? The vibes are immaculate. They’ve got that soft sunshine x brooding shadows energy, and it just works. Like, aesthetically alone they’re stunning: her in floral, light and delicate, and him all shadows and silent intensity. It’s giving “light in the dark,” “the storm loves the flower,” all those Pinterest-core poetic things...

What makes them even more interesting is the emotional tension. They’re quiet around each other, but you can feel everything simmering under the surface. They’re not the loudest ship, but that’s kind of the appeal... they’re slow, soft, and full of yearning. It’s like their whole dynamic is made of silence and glances and unspoken promises.

Whether they end up together or not, the Elriel aesthetic and emotional potential is unmatched
