For so long in history, in almost any mono religious tradition, men and women were not dating right? like you were fully expected to find love with whoever you end up with

I'm 100% convinced Apple RUINS any bluetooth connection to their devices if it isn't an apple product too

I am unfortunately an owner of a iphone 13 promax, and I made the switch from my apple airpods threes to a soundcore a20i

the apple airpods hurt my ears, had barely any volume, and lasted about 2 days of continuous use (8+ hours a day I think)

the soundcores? 3 days. loud, better fit, and honestly so so cute

the issue was always connecting with bluetooth, where both connected find and fast to my laptop, but only the airpods gave less trouble (in the first 1.5 years of use)

the most damning evidence I saw is, when I click on soundcore a20i in the control panel bluetooth, and then get frustrated and go to settings, it's not even showing the connection animation, and when I click it through settings it freaking works

even once when I return to the control panel, it sometimes still shows that damn spinner

Autistics can have low empathy, they can have high empathy, they can have learned empathy. The myth would be that all autistics only experience one end of the empathy spectrum.

In spreading around misinformation that autistics actually have high empathy, you are disregarding the autistics who do have low empathy. And vice versa.

from what I've heard (and from personal experience as an undiagnosed person), people seem to have the innate ability to find autistic/"different" people around them? and hostility usually forms towards autistic children sadly

Being an autistic paraprofessional is strange on two levels

On one, I see truly how much autism is a spectrum. My high support needs students resemble myself in so many ways. Our needs overlap and are opposite. The kids also love knowing I'm autistic. They love talking to an adult who understands and being able to see that an adult life is possible as an autistic person.

However the other side is seeing the other paraprofessionals turn. They're so sweet to me, understanding and ready to listen. Then suddenly they're snapping at these children like they're dogs. Most don't know I'm autistic as well and I see how much they see autism as a disorder that makes you subhuman.

I'm moving schools this week so I'm hoping it's better at my new placement. Just wanted to share what I've unfortunately noticed in the US school system.

Hey just a general PSA from someone officially diagnosed and documented:

Now is not the time to seek out an autism diagnosis.

RFK's plans have been made very clear and any diagnosis you do get will get you put on this "national disease registry" they're proposing.

Trust me when I say I completely understand the need for accommodations and a better understanding of yourself, but if you have gone this long without being diagnosed, you will be better off waiting.

Furthermore, listen to and advocate for folks who are diagnosed, especially folks with higher support needs. They'll be the first ones targeted for whatever bullshit "experimental treatments" the government tries to push.

I fucking hate that the general response to RFK Jr's eugenist take on autistic people is "autistic people do pay taxes, autistic people do work, autistic people do date!"

Some autistic people don't and that shouldn't make them less worthy of life. Some autistic people do need constant help and support and that shouldn't make them less worthy of life.

Once again we're falling in the right wing trap of :

They make a hateful, fascist statement

Instead of focusing on the fact that it is hateful and fascist we try to show them that they are factually wrong

We throw our own allies and the most vulnerable of us under the bus in the process

We legitimise an only slightly less hateful, fascist view as we go

Right now what we're getting to with that is that autistic people who can work and pay taxes are okay, and the others aren't. Fuck this shit.

Luigi Mangione has been locked up since December 2024, and he's been met with nothing but the violation of his rights every step of the way. Luigi's right to be treated humanely is constantly violated, as is his right to the presumption of innocence and a fair trial. Evidence is not being provided to his legal team, and he's being treated with prejudice by law enforcement.

Luigi is not a handsome face and a few jokes online. He is a real human being with real pain and real health issues. Luigi is a young man fighting for his life and the media is doing nothing but trying to sexualize him and make light of his situation.

Luigi has already lost so much to this, and although he remains resilient, it's important to remember that his circumstances can't possibly be good. It's also important to remember that if they can do it to Luigi, they can do it to more people, to your loved one, to you.
