Rana and Ahmed (@ranafam2) are educators from Khan Younis, with Rana as a statistics professor at the Islamic University of Gaza and Ahmed as the principal of his school: both institutions have now been destroyed.

Palestinians have survived occupation for well over a century now, and they will remain steadfast, but they need your support.

Even with the ceasefire, resources are still limited and expensive. The weekly allowance for basic provisions like baby formula and flour is about $1000. Rana is also anticipating additional costs for baby formula, clothes, and natal care as she's eight months pregnant and expecting soon.

Finally with the ceasefire, Rana is hoping to evacuate with her family altogether. The cost of evacuation per person ranges from $5000 to $7000. If Rana gives birth before she can evacuate, that puts the total anticipated cost at $49,000 (5 children, 2 adults).

Before the war Rana was a professor with a masters degree, and her husband established language training centers. Now they are forced to live in a test and are suffering from famine. Rana cannot find enough food to ease any of their hunger. Not only are they starving, deprived of food, but they haven't had a chance to eat vegetables or meat in months. Trivial as it may sound, that is a code to just how bad it is. It has reached a point that one of Rana's daughters has been hospitalized because of the lack of food. There is a good chance that she might be sent there again if she doesn't get the nutrition she needs.

I ask that you donate for multiple reasons. - Rana and her children need food urgently. Famine is an extremely real threat that has, and will, kill many in Palestine. I refuse to let it be anyone in Rana's family. - Rana's husband, Ahmed, is trying to raise the funds to rebuild what was lost because of the occupation. He wants to rebuild the language centers he had established before the war. Rebuilding the centers would help rebuild the lives they had. - Any other funds can help Rana's family be supported in other ways. Clothes, medicine, tents: all things that are in short supply. All things they might need badly in the future. Along with donating, please share. Her beautiful home, once a haven of joy, was destroyed, leaving her and her children in a torn and worn-out tent. They now face the unrelenting cold of winter with no warm clothes, no covers, and no reprieve. Her children shiver through each moment, vulnerable to illness from the freezing temperatures, and struggle to survive the harsh conditions.

Recently, the winter rain storms have flooded their fragile tent, soaking everything inside. Rana has spent entire nights desperately trying to stabilize it against the wind and rain, fearing it might collapse entirely. Despite her efforts, the tent cannot properly shield her family from the bitter cold or the relentless rain.

"Providing food and drink for my children right now is impossible. A bag of flour costs 1000 shekels ($272) and milk, for my little girl, is 100 shekels ($28). This is the least of what we need.

As for the tent, today my children froze from the cold because the tent is very, very, very worn out. And we drowned when it rained for a while. We couldn't sleep.

Please, if you know someone who can donate to me, I need it very, very much so that I can at least survive."

This is reality for Rana ( @ranafam2 ), a a 37-year-old mother of four from Gaza. With a master’s degree in statistics and a husband who dedicated his life to teaching English, their lives were upended by relentless war. Her husband's educational centers, which once provided hope and opportunity to their community, were destroyed. Their home was reduced to rubble, and now they live in a small, overcrowded tent, struggling to survive.

As a mother, Rana battles lung infections caused by cooking over open fires due to the unaffordable cost of cooking gas. Her children are deprived of education, living in constant fear of disease and epidemics that plague the overcrowded camps. With no access to basic necessities like clean water, food, or clothing, their lives hang by a thread.

Despite these hardships, Rana fights tirelessly to protect her children and give them a chance at life. She dreams of escaping the horrors of war, ensuring her children can grow up safe, healthy, and educated.

Rana's heartbreaking struggle continues to worsen as her youngest daughter, who is under two years old, battles a severe intestinal infection caused by polluted water and a lack of proper nutrition and vitamins. The little girl is critically ill, but the family has no access to medical care or essential medicines to treat her. The scarcity of basic supplies like diapers only adds to the despair, as the family remains trapped in a cycle of illness and poverty in the overcrowded tent camps.

Epidemics are spreading rapidly through the camp due to the unsanitary conditions, leaving Rana and her children more vulnerable than ever. Rana, as any good mother in her situation would, feels hopeless and frustrated as she watches her daughter's health deteriorate.

My husband works as a teacher and has a group of educational centers for teaching English in Gaza, Khan Yunis, and Rafah

At the beginning of the war, our educational center, Gaza branch, was destroyed and bulldozed.

It had been opened one month before the start of the war. The war on Gaza continued, and I am still residing in my home despite the danger and threat, but I left my home on 24/1/2024 because the Israeli army requested the evacuation of the city of Khan Yunis, and for fear for my children and my husband, I went to the city of Rafah, the safe place, as the army says, and I lived in a narrow and small place.

Iam and four children, my husband, and a group of displaced people suffered from many diseases and epidemics due to lack of food. And lack of water

Then the threats began to the city of Rafah, so I left for Hamad Town, a safe area, as the Israeli army said about it, and I stayed there with my relatives, and on February 25, the second educational center, Khan Yunis branch, was completely destroyed and blown up 😭😭

On 3 March , the army besieged Hamad Town, and Iam and my children, and my husband left under gunfire and the sound of shells✈️✈️ ✈️ And the fire belts🚀🚀 We left in the middle of the night on foot and continued walking for a whole day while tanks and soldiers surrounded us and we were displaced for the third time.

We returned to the city of Rafah again, but without any of the necessities of life , no clothes, no bedding, no luggage 🧥🧥

On 13 March , I received information that my house was completely destroyed. My home, my dreams, and my memories were destroyed 😭😭😭 I became homeless 😭😭😭

On 5 January , 2024, we left Rafah after the army threatened it, and we went out to Al-Mawasi and lived in a tent. Now I live in a small tent in a camp full of diseases🤧🤧 and epidemics🤮🤮

The last branch of the educational centers, the Rafah branch, was destroyed

Now I live in a tent

I fight for a living We no longer have a source of income other than aid and assistance, which are of no use

My children were deprived of education because of the war. They are now without schools
