3d modelling (update)
it's been a while since i made a post because i haven't had much time to think about the things i like, due to an unfortunate bout of employment (due to no money)
consequently i haven't done any work on my beloved model in a while, beyond mirroring the legs and restructuring some of the scene folders
i want to make some changes, and i'll have time in the near future when i stop being employed and go back to classes to make those changes
this second finger needs to be elongated to more closely resemble the remaining finger of a bird's wing, but due to what i did to the object it will need to be fully remodeled (very sad news for fans of the horrible nail)
i'm thinking about making a whole new mask and leaving this cute low-poly one alone because it's become so dear to me even though it's only barely the right shape
i'm still questioning whether i should remodel the claws, because i like the way they've turned out but i'm not sure about the way they're put together, and like the finger no amount of rotating or stretching the object will make it take the shape i want it to, so it's a remodel on that as well, likely just to change the length and way it rests but ending up with a roughly similar toe
i'm thoroughly in love with the look of these feathers and the shoulder musculature
i have no idea how rigging works, so one day i'll have to figure out what good this skeleton does me, but it's not this day
and that's how things have been going in my brain while i'm not doing any actual work here
it's all rather a mess i must admit, but work is so draining that i spend most of my weekends sleeping and spending time with people i like to try to get some joy out of being alive

3d Modelling my OC Sovereign
beginning to sculpt the legs and feet of the model, the bones no longer precisely align with the human skeleton but that's not really that relevant since i'll have to edit the armature anyway when i'm done and it was only there already for drafting purposes
i'm pretty satisfied with how the leg came out and it really wasn't that difficult
the toes on the other hand are quite frustrating to sculpt and this one ended up with a large collection of very scrunched up polygons at the base of the talon no matter how i eased it out
i'm not at all familiar with any of the specialized sculpting tools so i'm doing this all with the Draw tool and its simple modifiers to achieve the Push and Smoothing that i need , but it's worked for me thus far and i'm afraid to try to learn something new in the middle of a project because there's something wrong with my brain

I remain trapped in horny gaol
The corn flakes are running out and all the water is flattened mineral water
I may not survive this persecution of my adherence to beauty but I must continue to sculpt my beloved even if the machines don't want people to know how best to kiss a tummy

wifeposting as usual
trying to sculpt the arm and claws into something acceptable to my brain as it rots into a pile of goo inside my head bowl
i made several adjustments to the shoulder joint as well to try to start blending those edges together where they'll eventually be joined
the claws were quite difficult to sculpt but i'm reasonably happy, for tonight, with the progress i've made
they need to look more like fingers, but i genuinely have no idea what i'm doing and they were made from single cubes
perhaps they should be made of one cube per joint and one for the claw itself, but that's a problem for future me to be worried about
#3d art#blender#oc#art#this is the part of the process that i'm most afraid of even though the entire arm is going to be covered in several layers of feathers#because that's how wings work

It's not even lewd, the robots are just mad that a colorless, featureless, unfinished 3d model sculpted in blender is nude
I've got a headache
#psych I won't do better the tummy is going to be there in the next post too#vent#when i say I'm looking respectfully I mean it#it's her fault for having a kissable tummy#3d art#blender#oc

Update on 3d modelling my OC Sovereign (my beloved)
h u g e bird lady whom i love, sculpting from multiple cubes that have been hit with the [Subdivision Surface] modifier until they're spherical
for some reason, i have difficulty trying to sculpt a whole body at once, even with the remesh tool giving me more polygons to work with, so my tendency is to just merge sculpting cubes together and try to blend them at the seams
it still fits roughly onto the skeleton i stretched out for my proportioning, which is good because i have to free-scale the pieces until they fit together properly and if i get to leave them roughly in the same proportions i sculpted them in, they look better in the end
fishnet body suit for fun

Continuing to 3d model my OC Sovereign
1st off, huge bird lady

2ndly, i have decided that i want to model the wings in several sections, matching the bones and major tendon of a real bird's wing

i have the bicep and forearm roughly modeled, and placeholder sculpting cubes for the claws and tendon, which isn't really going to so much be the tendon as it is the skin and musculature of the top of the wing, where it stands off from the bones
i have absolutely no idea what i'm doing or if this will even matter once everything is covered completely in feathers, but having made another 3d model of a creature i call a birdlin (bird gremlin), i had several issues when trying to 3d print a wing with no core anchor, just a lattice of feathers
fucker's wings are as empty as its head, those feathers are only stuck to each other
although the primary goal of this model of Sovereign isn't specifically to 3d print a figurine, it's something that i'll probably want to do so i might as well not make it hard on myself
#blender#art#3d art#oc#still not a furry i just like birds and dream about being a bird sometimes and envy their ability to resist this smothering globe's weight#in a very normal way#like how in UC Gundam only people born in space can be Newtypes

3d modelling my OC Sovereign
tried some simple sculpting, i forgot how tedious it can get when you focus on small details but i'm happy with how this turned out back-set shoulders because her arms are wings, the neck still seems a little thicker than i want but i've left the head completely unsculpted so maybe it's just connecting to the skull in a weird way
i'm also not 100% happy with the shape of the breasts but i haven't done blender sculpting in a long time and this is much larger and more anatomical than anything i've done before
next step is going to be the hips and lower abdomen
i'm much happier with this workflow than i was trying to use limited geometry

#blender#3d art#art#oc#someday a lawyer is going to hit me in the face with a document but instead of a summons it just says “stop saying you're not a furry”
