Tuesday Sketch 200... Guitars.
Goofed it up.  This was supposed to go in the Tuesday Sketch blog - here - https://tuesday-sketch-2.tumblr.com/post/631726061089112064/here-i-was-thinking-id-posted-that-200th
Someone very important in the soundtrack of my life left us today.  Awesome musician and innovator.  His sound will continue rocking and amazing even in the great beyond.  The background in this week's first image should clue you as to who I refer to.  Thank you sir.  Rock in peace.

Here’s a “Paso Fino” hat (by special request - you know who you are).

Tuesday Sketch continues.  Starting with a bit of a warm up… hard to pick a hat, so I started doodling, as I looked at the variety.  I have an idea of a good one to sketch.  Would love to see comments or even sketches from you.

A couple of additions - Chinese cap ( I think it may be a tourist type recreation of a real one, but I defer to those in the know... I just thought it was worth sketching).

I really enjoyed watching Jim Lujan’s “Infinity Pool”. The characters always get me. Here’s the “conspiracy radio host” Jonah. I know the cast got together for a viewing the other day, and I couldn’t resist posting this random sketch. I guess you can call it a high-school notebook doodling style homage. I’ll probably bug Jim with some more “fan art”. In the meantime, you can catch “Infinity Pool” here - https://youtu.be/s_OgQ8GXcWo . don’t forget to check out Jim’s extensive works in his channel, of course.

Sword sketches, even photos if you have a sword. Like I said before, pencil, crayon, digital, be creative, be funny if you like. I’ll keep putting on some bumps during the week (along with a sketch or two), and it would be nice to have some company? :) - Click on the submit link: https://tuesday-sketch-2.tumblr.com/submit

Digital clean up. Looking to clean up notebook scans (plenty ruled paper to go while exercising-drawing). Found a few methods, some easy, others more involved. The winner dealt with RGB channel magic using image manipulation apps. You can barely see where the ruling left its mark, at the cost of loosing detail. This type of cleanup is best for simpler pieces. Of course, my fault for using school notebooks. Two more notebooks to burn, so I will try my best to clean it up before I post. No one likes messy images, though I suppose they have their “charm”, and nostalgic high school “feel”, right? What did you draw on your high school notebooks?

Exploring 3 point perspective. So for the last month, I’ve been re-discovering drawing, and taking my own path. When I searched for information on drawing perspective, everyone’s approach varies, as expected. Lately I find myself going back to videos from Circle Line Art School. (they seem to be very “straight to the point”). I will continue exploring, of course.

And Random Art mini-blog is open once more, after several years. I’m re-kindling the drawing spirit. Been drawing every day for more than 3 weeks (using notebooks, which are ruled, which will annoy anyone because they are a pain to clean up on scans), but there you go. This is from the day I decided to tackle some organic shapes, and their lighting.
Like I mentioned in my other mini blogs, my old art friends may or may not see this. If you are into this, and want to show me your efforts, let me know. I’ll make bigger noise later in my main blog site which is about experimenting.
Keep drawing and enjoy!

The week's doodle page. Doodles accumulate on stray paper. This may be a running post (or for however long the sketchpad lasts).
My favorites here are: the one-eyed guy with some eye-wear goggle thing, the sketchy glasses on the floating head. I think I've seen that cat in the back before too. Oh, and the assortment of rolling, clumped-together spheres on the bottom right... playing with perspective a bit (never mind the craters - no planning, just craters).

Just for fun, doodled a few mermaids looking at reference. This one popped up as the candidate, so I gave it a bit of a treatment. It may not be completely original, but I enjoyed the sit-down-and-draw moment thoroughly. My captive audience (at home) liked it.
Recent coloring took place, involving mostly my daughter's choice of markers. Nice eh?
