I’m going to say it.

I don’t think How to Train Your Dragon 3 was good.

Not when you compare it to literally either of the other movies. Certainly not as a conclusion.

I mean, the first movie was about a boy who manages to understand a hostile dragon species and bring peace to two warring factions, which is a parallel for his relationship with his father. The second film was about how sometimes, peace has to be fought for, and Hiccup’s whole identity was in contrast with that—because while his mother ran from conflict and his father leapt at it too eagerly, he had always been the one to stop the fighting. Then he has to learn that the things we love are worth protecting. 

And after he learns that humans and dragons can learn to understand each other and coexist—after he learns that it isn’t enough to run and hide or fight out of fear, but instead you must protect the things you care about��

After those two natural, powerful progressions are clearly worked for in the first two movies—

How to Train Your Dragon 3 comes along and says “‘No actually, sometimes all it takes is one madman whom you defeated with no loss of life to convince you that the things you care about should just crawl into a very pretty hiding hole, because you don’t feel like spending the rest of your life fighting for them.”

As much as I love the revolutionary army joining the race for the one piece, I don't think they've signed up for the race much less in the running.

The Kamabakka kingdom, where all the main people are located right now is in paradise a whole half-world away from Laughtale.

They are still holding the siege on Mary Geoise plus all the other operations around the world.

No Ponyglyphs. Most emperors have at least 2 poneglyph rubbings,if not someone to translate it. NOt only does the army not have any, but they don't have any interest in poneglyphs. Any research into them would have started 2 years ago when Robin joined them.

Their forces are spread too thin and their strongest people are too far away to be of any use. The only way I can see them having any chance of 'winning'(cause we all know they won't) is if they know something about 'the man marked by flames'.

Across the width of the Grand Line and deep in the Dungeon, I can only feel honored to see such beauty.

It makes a lot of sense now why the fishmen are so discriminated against. (besides basic racism) Currently, the only place fishmen are considered safe place is fishman island, but if they weren't hunted down it's easy to imagine they would be the freest race on the planet and would spread out visiting all islands on the world.

In this exploration, they would most likely come across the ruins of the ancient kingdom. (Depth isn't an issue fishman island is 10,000 meters below the sea level, the scent kingdom is only 600 meters below) They would then bring relics to the surface as a point of trade thereby exposing part of the Void century cover up.

The only other ships we've seen that can freely explore underwater without the Sabody bubbles are: Laws' submarine, an ice breaker ship from Whitebeards' fleet, and the monkey salvage bros from Jaya. How odd those are all pirate vessals.

Gear 5 evolution

I love how Oda shows that Gear 5 is getting more powerful. Not through how much destruction it causes, but that Luffy is now using other kinds of slapstick.

When fighting Kaido Luffy was using body/environment squish and strech (I have no idea what any of the terms I'm trying to use are). Growing in size, bouncing off the ground, turning Kaido into a balloon and jump rope, most of that fight had rubbery qualities to its gags, even the eye stretches can be categorized as stretching, as none truly fell out. (Ussop is able to do a similar thing with the wasabi grape, but that's a whole nother post and another reason for his godhood.)

Against the Gorosei though, he's turned them into paper (which is distinctly NOT rubber,) had all his scars blown off, and created a baseball bat and helmet with paint seeming out of nowhere!

Oda is making it so that Luffy can do anything to anyone so long as it'll get a laugh from us, and while I'm not qualified to do an analysis on that subtle 4th wall breaking. I for one can't until he does the ultimate attack and shoves Pies into all their faces!

I know nothing about coding, but would it have been possible for Vegapunk to slip the 'Bonney Protocol' past Saturn by putting it in the command structure under a different name?

Whenever someone gives the Pasifistas or Kuma orders they use those names, but Bonney called out for her 'daddy' to help her. Could that be the difference?

Like there were two separate files programmed into the Pasifistas, relating to the command structure but Saturn only looked at the one labeled 'command structure' and not '#1 dad'.

A pretty much self indulgent Husk Overlord AU where he gambled against Val, Husk wins and in exchange, he keeps his casino and Angel's contract is transferred to Husk ;) Oh yeah and they get RINGS!!!
