Four was walking around camp, negotiating for everyone's blankets, and Wind tried not to assume anything as he stared. There were so many people in their group, they had enough bedding to make an awesome blanket fort- but Wind had never guessed that Four would be the one to make it.

Wind knew that Four was a lot older than he looked. It was hard to pretend that they were they same age, with Four usually wanting to sit and read a book instead of doing something fun with Wind. They were friends, in the weird way that Wind was friends with Legend- not enough for Wind to feel like a little brother, but it wasn't the same as Tetra or Komali.

Sure enough, Four came to him last, a few corners trailing on the dirt as he hauled the pile of blankets over.

"Do you want mine too?" Wind asked, digging in his bag for it.

"Mm, yeah. Actually, can you help me?" Four said, almost sounding a little shy.

"Yeah! Are we making a blanket fort?" Wind jumped to his feet, holding his single blanket.

Four nodded and led him to a rock with a low overhang, and they draped a couple blankets over it as curtains before bringing the rest inside.

"This is a great idea, Four," Wind said happily as they flopped onto their blanket nest.

Four hummed, one hand sneaking up to his mouth without him noticing. He nibbled on his finger for a moment before snatching it away, going to fidget with his earring instead. His eyes faded from purple to red, matching the blush on his ears.

Wind pretended not to notice and burrowed under the blankets. He held out a hand and pulled Four down to join him. He expected Four to sprawl out like when they shared a bed, both of them fighting for as much space as possible, but the smaller teen curled up against him instead. Four felt even tinier than normal- he felt younger, even more than Aryll, and Wind let himself go back to his old habits.

Four had forgotten to take his headband off, so Wind gently did it for him. He ran his fingers through Four's hair, repeating it when he heard quiet, happy coos. Wind hugged Four tight as their breathing slowed, both of them falling asleep in their blanket fort.

eremin will always be my otp but aruani is cute too! i love idea with kids, whether it's the characters being kids or having kids. ALSO I LOVE LEVI BEING LIKE A MOM/DAD TO ARMIN ITS SO PRECIOUS

i made an aruani son design but i am also in love with the idea of girl parents aruani so here’s what i imagine their daughter might look like

some headcanons:

- She is the friendliest little girl you will ever meet. She’s such a social butterfly it’s insane — even friendlier than Armin. She’ll say hello to almost every single stranger she sees. It worries Armin and Annie a bit because she’s so trusting of others.

- She loves sports but she has no innate athleticism at all. They introduced her to baseball once just for a bit of fun and when pitching the ball she just threw it straight onto the ground. Everyone just kinda stared blankly at Armin as if to say “These are your genes at work.”

- She’s clumsy (also Armin’s fault).

- Got the short genes from both parents so she stands at a whopping five feet and two inches when fully grown.

- She tries to braid Armin’s hair but gets annoyed at how short it is. She’s seen photos of Armin when he was younger and asks him a least seven times a month if he can grow his hair out again.

- She has more of Armin’s features but everyone forgets that because her eyes are just so strikingly Annie.

- Her hair is slightly wavy. Both Annie and Armin have almost completely straight hair so there’s some curiosity as to where that came from. Armin thinks it could have been from his mother but he doesn’t remember her all that well.

- She has Annie’s sweet tooth. She enjoys baking, but between her and her mom nothing they bake lasts in the house very long.

- She genuinely thought Levi was her other grandfather for the first six years of her life and was confused on why Armin didn’t call Levi “Dad” like Annie does with her father.
