I just can’t take any of the teenagers’ evil monologues seriously. All this talk about defeating enemies and taking victory and striking first and yada yada yada. You’re like twelve. Why don’t you drink a Capri Sun and maybe then you’ll calm down.

do you ever post/reblog something think "that one moot is really gonna like this!" and then get a notification five minutes later of that one moot rebloging your post?

sometimes that little notification from ao3 telling you that one fic has been updated can really turn your day around
gives ya something to look forward to
I feel like this is an unpopular opinion, but more people should read incomplete/unfinished/in-progress fanfics.
I've noticed this huge trend where creators on tiktok and tumblr who will be explaining how to use Archive Of Our Own to new users and they always say "and make sure to scroll down and click completed only" or how people will go out of their way to mention they only read completed fics 'because they were traumatized when they forgot to check the dates and didn't realize this fic hadn't been updated since 2012'.
The thing is - I think by not engaging with and/or actively avoiding writer's WIPs readers are potentially adding to the aggregate of abandoned works. Now this obviously isn't the case for all abandoned fics, anything from major life events, to loss of interest, to getting busy can be a reason for a fic getting abandoned - but at least on some level I just know that writers are quitting while they're ahead when they aren't garnering any response or feedback because reading WIPs has become unpopular. If you're worried about reading something that hasn't been updated since 2012 then you can use the date updated function to sort out old fics.
Anyways, support your favorite fanfic writers by engaging with their WIPs.

It took me decades to realize I never understood God’s grace, only his mercy. To me, grace was God looking at me - in all of my sin, my apathy, my shame - and saying, “I forgive you. I’ll waive the punishment. You may live your life.” That’s mercy though, not grace.
If mercy is underserved forgiveness, grace is undeserved abundance, favor. Grace goes one step farther, saying, “I will do more than forgive. I will enliven you with vibrance and purpose and kindness and joy; I will cherish and uplift and protect and multiply.”
Grace is excessive. It’s unnecessary. It’s underserved favor. God doesn’t just forgive the villain; he adopts him and entrusts him with the kingdom.

Found a perfect curly lock of hair in between the pages of a century-old book and now I don't know how to function because someone loved someone else enough to preserve even the tiniest piece of them, and now I am in possession of a stranger's memory, probably years and years after they passed away. Who were they? Were they a lover, or a brother, or a child? It's quite fine hair, I wonder if maybe it was a little kid's? Was it preserved because of death, or just as a memento, or maybe a goodbye present?
