Mussoorie views from lal tibba. It was a rather cloudy evening so we couldn't see the garhwal peaks clearly. They were barely visible from the telescope that day. Met the beautiful ganges at haridwar as she gurgled giggled and danced through the awesome ghats of haridwar. She is beautiful and calming at the same time. I have seldom got these mixed feelings of peace happiness and love all at the same time all this just by watching her giggle away. Her ice cold waters are surprisingly warm to the soul. This beauty is from the morning glory family.... It's name though is quite a mouthful.... Slender dwarf morning glory or botanic name evolvulus glomeratus. It's simply a beautiful blue little flower. Easy to grow.... Loves the sun. After all the pinks red and oranges a splash blue was a welcome change. Sometimes making a small little change makes the monotonousness a little more interesting...... White is the color of peace..... another bloom from the garden. I am more philosophical today than a gardener..... looking for answers to questions I am not able to frame. I witnessed another completion of the circle of life, and as usual, the futility of going through the whole circle and it's major milestones seems lost to me. We come, as we go. All we carry with us to the beyond are experiences and some profound interactions with the people we meet along in the journey..... Only to repeat this whole cycle all over again. Honestly..... It seems exhausting and so futile. Yet we again wake up in the morning, looking forward to yet another day. Another pink beauty which is going haywire is this lovely plant with white and pink tones. The baby pink is very subtle and lovely. No guesses who chose it..... My pretty pink loving daughter again. My garden already looks entirely pink 😃. The May queen has finally arrived. This year she was late by 15 days. Then they all started blooming at once.... Four of them together. Football ball lily...... biological name: scadoxus multiforus (such a mouthful).... is by far the queen of my garden. She usually makes an appearance on the first of May every year and blooms till the month end. Rest of the year is sleep time for her..... Only a queen can get away with this kind of a schedule. Grows via bulbs..... This has been passed down to me by my dad along with other lily bulbs. Very easy to grow needs nothing except some water at the right time of the year. Best plant for garden beginners. I honestly dunno anything that is this easy. Another beauty which is responding very well to the pruning are the roses. It is not a surprise because roses normally flower better if pruned regularly. For some reason I had put the pruning aside and was so intent on making my balcony a jungle that I had forgotten what it takes. My plants seem so relieved with this massive cleaning that I feel guilty to not have done it earlier. Inspite of all this I still have the beginnings of a jungle and also my beautiful flowers all blooming Life lesson: Facing issues head-on usually helps. I have this crazy looking mogra variety which is huge and smells awesome. In fact if I keep a couple of them in the room the fragrant stays all day and the fragrant is powerful enough that no one misses it. Strangely this year because of the summer heat most of the plants had almost given up. I had to ruthlessly prune most of the plants and tried simple tea leaves as a manure.... And voila they all got super fresh and started blooming. I think the key was the pruning. This mogra plant which has been with me for years now gave me max two to three flowers per season is full abloom. I have had more than ten flowers already and many more buds coming up. Who knew a simple pruning could be so effective. Life lesson: Sometimes cutting off unnecessary things from your life can make your life more beautiful and growing that much easy.
