Wandering Amulet

I’ve had the honour to partake in the experience of being an amulet carrier. I have to say, I not only very much appreciate the concept, i love and enjoy the awareness it stimulates as a wearer. I also revel in the idea that it will be shared with someone else and they will have their own experience with it.

It is a reminder, a lovely one at that, to keep sharing in the power of the human and humane experience. An ode to the Wixárika people.

El viernes 14 de septiembre a las 18:00 hs inaugura en el MAP la exposición del concurso internacional de joyería que da lugar a la II Bienal Latinoamericana de Joyería Contemporánea.

La exposición mostrará obra de 123 artistas seleccionados de toda Latinoamérica, que trabajaron bajo el tema “Vecinos”.

As the Mexican border wall continues to be the crux of a heated debate, the topic is now the focus of two concurring exhibitions at the MAD | Museum of Arts and Design sign in New York City, which looks at immigration through the eyes of more than 50 artists.

Mexican designer Raquel Bessudo Jewelry Artist  “It can take months for them to cross the border and the artist’s piece is commemorative of that, it represents a way out to people.”

“The fact that people would put themselves in this danger tells you the type of danger they’re trying to escape,” she adds.
