Ableism in Goblin Community

Someone joined with the Gadgetzan Gazette discord, and then messaged a few people. I received a message and it basically consisted of

“hey i’m new to warcraft rp want to be friends and rp?”

Which as a whole seems pretty innocuous, and then this message appeared in our discord.

This seems to me a lot like someone trying to exclude another person who may or may not be on the Autism spectrum and came across really sketchy and hurtful to me. Not to mention ableist and exclusive.

Jaedeine Starfeather

I wasn’t even going to submit this until I heard that she was known for this. Stumbled upon a character named Jaedine Starfeather spouting some dicey (homophobic) crap IC. I wouldn’t have thought anything of it (considering it was IC), until her name rung a bell. Turns out she’s also in some screens with one Falanthos Eruil'vyn using homophobic slurs. Personally, I don’t like logging onto wow, thinking I’m going to enjoy some rp, only too see people spouting homophobic crap in the Exchange. As someone who is affected by homophobia in real life, it puts me in a foul mood. Unfortunately for me, I only managed to get one screenshot. But before this particular screen she had been saying much more, including saying she “Hates seeing sodomites”. 

In this screen she can be seen saying “Fuck greenskins (meaning orcs or trolls) and fuck shirtless queers”

There will be no TL;DR, but do be aware that this contains talk about emotional/mental abuse and manipulation, brief mention of trans/homophobia and racism, and a lot of anger. It’s going to be posted here because I think it’s high time that those who were aware of the bare situation ought to know what really happened in my past relationship since my ex decided to run his mouth to anyone who would listen and made it more public than he wants to admit.(ie; he lied to me about how many people he told and it somehow became hot gossip with people who are utter STRANGERS to me).

It may have stopped since, fuck if I know. I still hear about the things he has thought fit to say of me, and I’m still angry, and I know when he does talk about it, he spins it in such a way that there is no questioning that he downplays the things he did to make himself look better. You’re welcome to drag me on WRA-secrets after this or something. Been there, dealt with his thirsty ass friend blaming me for it all falling apart and saying he’ll be better without me.
