Time for my birdwatchers HS AU headcannon that one of the projects for the photography club was to take 10 pictures of somthing that interests you, so Kitt asked Raven if he could photograph him.

And when everyone turns in their portfolio Henry and Kitt lock eyes bc Henry did the exact same thing with pictures of Everett. And Ernst is just standing there, the only one who didn't take pictures of men.

Then and there, it was undeniable to Jude - Raven has lost someone. Coincidentally or not, the sound of a hyena is heard in the undergrowth, and the air is suddenly weighing with an uncomfortable sadness. "I... I have lost a lot - a great deal, as you say. Therefore I do not belong in the hands of God, either. Not anymore. Is that all that you are here for? To - to remind me of that?"

HIIIIIIIII THOMAS!!!!!!!!!!! a lot of bad things have been happening around the island but you seem so happy! i was wondering if i could make you a bracelet or something. i’m getting more worried about frankie and jude by the day. they seem to be getting along less and less and im worried that they might lash out at one another! oh, im rambling again. sorry!

"'Happy' is a bit of a stretch... I am well aware of the bad things," Raven hums. But he pauses, turning his attention back to Wilbur. His eyes are tired, but he smiles. "There is not much we can do to prevent them from fighting, but what we can do is be there for them when the storm comes. Worrying won't do a thing, though! Trust me on that one...."

He thinks for a moment. "A bracelet would be nice, though. Thank you, my friend!"

" oh, thank you, Wilbur! " Raven smiles, and chuckles a bit sheepishly. " I believe that was me - you scurried off before I could catch a name. but ... It is good to finally meet you! " He looks about the island, as if studying the foliage quietly... Or, perhaps, gazing upon a hyena in the woods.

Raven jumps when Michael gets close, but manages to relax. He seems more on edge than usual. " oh! Thank you, my friend... This is lovely. I shall keep it, " he murmurs with a soft smile.

[A buzzing sound can be unanimously heard behind him. He cannot see where it came from, but it grew louder and louder as seconds grew longer. A faint form of what it seems to be a.. humanoid figure.. No, not a human. Flies. Multiple flies. A figure made out of these. It looked back at him, and for the first time, he felt dread coming to his spine. What is it? The beast? Maybe.]

DOCTOR.

[It laughed. It laughed at him before dispersing away. The buzzing now became a stark reminder, a constant warning. It never left him alone.]

" wh - what-? " For once, since arriving on this island - at least, to anyone seeing this interaction - Raven shows a newfound fear. He watches as the figure of flies dissipate, but the buzzing seems to stay, loud and fresh in his ears. He falls to his knees, shaking, trying to hit his head with a hand. GET. OUT. He needed to get out. Nothing makes sense.

"I uh don't think I introduced myself, I'm Becke- I mean Kitt! I mean- you can call me Beckett, I'm just not- it's not usually used nicely."

Raven seems to brighten, and his smile is soft. " That is an interesting way to look at it! I think it does not take much to interpret music - it can be whatever you make it out to be. But understanding the notes and things, that is a whole other story. " He nods, thoughtfully.

After a moment, he looks Kitt over curiously.

" But... It is good to meet you! Kitt is a lovely name and one I don't mind using for you. "

*a rock falls from the trees at your feet. someone must be there. it’s a gift. should you take it? leave it? what should you do? would the woods be angry if you denied their gift?*

Raven stares upon nature's gift, his eyes flicking around as if to deter where it had come from. He bends down, and picks it up, turning the stone over in his hand.

Then, he gazes at the trees again, and furrows his brow.

" Roger? I know you have been throwing rocks around, lately. Is that you ?"
