Hiya! I'm an ravenclaw, and I have a girlfriend who I've yet to introduce into the wizarding world, because I feel like she's no muggle. But I also have the distinct feeling she might be in hufflepuff. How would I be able to tell?

hufflepuffs are hardworking, kind, welcoming, and fiercely protective. they might also prefer to be out of the spotlight (perhaps out of humbleness, or timidity) but once you get to know them, they will shine as brightly as the stars :)

at the beginning of last month, an old friend of mine was killed in a car accident. she was driving back home to seattle, after spending some of her time with the standing rock sioux tribe, protecting the water. 

i haven’t spoken to erin in many years. we were friends when i was a child in texas, and when i moved up north, we lost contact. my mother is still in touch with erin’s mother, which is how i found out.

i was devastated when i heard– erin is my age, she had been doing something noble and had died when returning home. it’s not fair, it’s not right. but it happened.

erin chose to do work with the international justice mission, and erin’s mother has set up a donation fund in her name. all the money raised will go to the ijm, to aid them in their mission.

i remember erin as a kind, sweet girl, and i am proud to have known her, even though we lost touch many years ago. if you have the financial means, consider donating a few dollars in erin’s name.

I am kinda confused about my house, I keep being sorted into ravenclaw. I am a bookworm and I am always sketching, art is my best subject, I have a little above average, I write fanfictions and I am not very organised what do you think :)

you sound like you’ve got the qualities of a ravenclaw, but it’s really about what you value, rather than what you embody. you’re welcome in our house, but we will support you elsewhere as well :)

If houses are what you value, not what you embody, then what would you say ravenclaws value? Pursuit of knowledge/art?

the Big Values that ravenclaws cherish are wisdom, knowledge, and learning. but there are other values too, like creatively using your intelligence, or enabling others to learn. we values the pursuit of learning, but also the application. we value the hard work that goes in to building your intellect, but also the lazy days you earn after spending so many hours in the library. we value the dreams we dream for a better tomorrow, while recognizing the importance of the tools we can use today to achieve that. we value the chance we have at a better world

firstly, ur blog's amazing! i wanted to ask you something, i've done so many house tests and EACH ONE said that i was ravenclaw, i love to be a ravenclaw student but i'm afraid that i'm not hardworking enough.. but i love reading books and learning

hard work has nothing to do with being a ravenclaw. yeah i mean we value it so far as does this hard work get you to where you want to be, but like.... you can love to read as a lazy past time, and you can learn at a slower, more chill pace. but as long as you love it, you’re a ravenclaw.

I procrastinate a lot due to different kind of stuff I get myself into every time so I can't do all at once, on time.iam creative,and daydream a lot & also overanalyze everything and I'm super curious.but my grades weren't particularly good :/

73.  Slytherin might be known as the party house but Ravenclaw actually throws the best ones. Most people in other houses just don't know about it because they are much better at keeping their parties hidden.

I saw a play with Daniel Radcliffe, and his character is canonically bisexual, unequivocally. no experiments, no drunken mistakes. just bi. and afterwards, he was so kind to the audience. he took his time signing autographs, taking photos, and offering to take selfies. when I finally got to the front of the line, I said to him that it was a huge deal to me to see a character who was openly bisexual, and he said something to the effect of, “I imagine it would be a big deal to see it where it’s not a big fucking deal”, and he promised to pass it on to the writer of the play. but it meant so much, that there was a bisexual character who wasn’t ashamed. didn’t try to hide their sexuality. who wasn’t confused. and I just broke down for a second and started crying. I think he was a little taken aback, but he hugged me, and let me cry into his shoulder. and it just meant. so. fucking. much. thank you Daniel. thank you, from a bisexual woman.

So I have always thought I was more ravenclaw because I value my intelligence and creativity and am a perfectionist but I wasn't sure if I was more gryiffendor/Hufflepuff because I will defend my friends no matter what and always give them advice

your house reflects what you value, not what you embody. remember how much hermione valued her high marks and intelligence? or how fiercely ron would defend his friends? or how cunning harry could be? yet they were all gryffindors, despite that they showed the qualities of different houses, because they valued the bravery and valor of gryffindor. so it’s reallyj ust about what you value, not what you display. you will always be welcome among ravenclaws, and if you decide your loyalties lie elsewhere, we will support you there as well.

I don't know which one to choose because at first I was sorted into Slytherin and Then Ravenclaw but I sorta always considered myself to be a Slytherin and I always valued their qualities, but after being sorted into Ravenclaw, I took other tests and they all say that I belong in Ravenclaw. What do you think caused my house to change?

you can display the qualities of one house and still value the qualities of a different house. i probably display the qualities of gryffindor because i’m hotheaded, i’ll defend something i care about very fiercely, and i admire the bravery that comes with standing up for yourself and others; but when it come down to it, i value the intelligence, creativity, and curiosity of ravenclaws. you can choose which house you want to claim if you have conflicting reports of where you belong, because obviously you show enough of both houses to get both results.

really what it comes down to is what do you personally value, at the end of the day?
