“Okay,” she would say, almost without thinking, at his question. That soft smile stretching a little further into her cheeks with her embarrassment at that fact, gaze lowered from those familiar pages—finding the floor before looking over to him, “I’ve been okay,” she told him then, an easy lie—could he see it? “How have you been Rephaim?” she asked, closing the book gently as she moved towards him and that front counter, “Busy day?”
“Just okay? That doesn’t sound very good.” Rephaim spoke a bit before leaning forward on his elbows looking at her. It wasn’t very often that someone of her caliber, gossip traveled quickly in the shifter community. She was pretty famous for what he father did. “I’ve been pretty great actually, things are looking up.” His thoughts quickly going to Carsyn. He looked at the book. “Nope pretty slow happy to have someone in here.”

She moved almost silently through the stacks of books, smile pressed still into the corners of her lips as she listened to how her footsteps became lost in the soft music which played overhead. Slowing her already slow pace as her eyes scanned the titles—took note of the authors—as her lips parted and she murmured to a string of lyrics her subconscious clearly knew. Minnie had always loved this place, that book shop more of her church than any house of belief she’d ever been in . More of a home in those past few months than any four walls and roof. Eventually she had come to a stop, lips still moving in those mumbled words as she picked up a copy of Wuthering Heights.
Rephaim smiled softly his eyes still on his book, but he wasn’t reading it anymore. More Just paying attention to where she was moving about in the shop. He had a recent section as well as several others. “How are you doing Minnie?” He finally asked.

He caught the face was making and tilted her chin up to give her a kiss, “Stop reading into that too much.” He knew she liked to over think things, that had a simple answer. He couldn’t date anyone else because they simply weren’t her. That was it. “You have but never in my room.” He smirked giving her a squeeze, he never thought she would ever be either. The hand around her gently drawing patterns into her skin.

“Wow…I can think of a place or two,” she smirked. “Oh yeah? How did you know I was going to say yes?”
“Oh really, I guess you’ll have to show me later.” He teased before giving her a wink. “I like to think I know you pretty well.”

The soft bell above her head called her gaze upwards as he would speak, that soft grin remaining upon her lips though no words would follow, instead she simply smiled further at his words—gave him a nod he most likely wouldn’t see before moving into the store. Eyes searching, shoulders relaxing at that comforting scent of books.
He did notice the nod from across the room. One advantage to being a bird of prey. He had excellent eyes sight even when he wasn’t paying attention. He even saw that she relaxed in the books store. If he was being honest that was why he planned on buying the shop in the first place.

Dutifully she followed, stopping as he had as her eyes followed his movements, that smile of hers growing as the books would be handed down to her. “Thank you,” she said looking to his face, “I like to have information from all sides,” she told him, before adding, “I’m a nurse.” Beth listened, brow creased ever so slightly at the way he chuckled at her question, but once the realization had dawned on her she felt that familiar warmth of a soft flush finding her cheeks. “Well I’m an idiot,” she teased, shaking her head, that was something she should have known—she had grown up there too.
He smiled a bit nodding his head at her thanks. Rephaim was still technically a youngster and he never really had to go to the hospital. Keeping to himself or people he knew, most times he wasn’t even the face of the book shop. “That is very smart. I think its foolish not to have as much information as possible.” He nodded at her comment. “Good to know,” He shook ed his head still smiling at her, “No you aren’t I’m pretty reclusive.” He didn’t know everyone in town like other people.

“Right. Okay. Four clans. So which one are you in? And… how do I know who the others are–who I can trust?”
“Pacatus. Most of us that grew up in the community know because it’s talked about a lot. You can trust anyone who isn’t trying to get you to do something you don’t agree on.” He shrugged, “Usually its whomever you agree with that you trust.”

Rephaim couldn’t have been more happy then he was at the moment. His arm wrapped around her shoulder and then other behind his head. He couldn’t help but think that she fit perfectly with him, it was the most comfortable he had ever been before. “Its a bit of both and I’m not afraid to admit it.” He spoke not caring that it was sad. “You are, and it is very glorious. Not the bachelor pad you’d thought it’d be.”

“Admiring your handiwork?” She teased as she flashed him a grin. “Hey, you’re the one who said you were taking me out. I don’t have to plan a thing.”
“Yes, and looking for where I can leave another one next time.” He chuckled nodding, “I am and I have the plan already set up. A little suspense isn’t a bad thing.”

He closed his eyes enjoying the feel of her lips against his warm skin. He was tired but not tired enough to stay there. Instead he got up picking her up in his arms, and moved towards the bedroom. He didn’t speak until he had both of them under the blankets hugging her against his chest. “No. I’ve never found another woman as beautiful as you. I always compared them to you.” Kissing her lips again he smiled. “Plus I’ve never had anyone over here to fuck, I went to their place.”

“Nope.”
“Perfect.” He smiled hooking his arm around her back moving her hair a bit. His eyes focusing on the hickey he had left. His fingers gingerly touched it before shaking his head. “What should I do? Take you out of lake Ontario perhaps?”

Rephaim moaned against her lips as she deepened it. He responded in gripping her tighter leaving marks with his fingers. Holding her tighter, sweat dripping off his body the room was warm and the fire wasn’t helping anything. He lost it when she tightened around him the buck did him in and he pulled out releasing himself on the floor next to them. “Damn you are beautiful.” His eyes were still black he didn’t even notice. He was too busy looking at her laying against the carpet.

“A date? Damn, I can’t remember the last time I went on one of those.”
“Is that a no?” He teased a sly smile covering his face as he let his eyes scan her body.

“I could take you on a proper date.” Rephaim smirked leaning against the door. Arms across his chest. Empowering and no longer hiding how much he wanted her.
Please tell me there’s something great going tonight because I don’t work, I’m bored, and if you say there isn’t anything going on I’m going to have to do something drastic like…eat ice cream out of the tub and marathon Angel…or go to the gym.

At her tugging he gave her what she wanted. Moving faster and faster, her nails digging into his skin made him groaned nipping at her neck, he may leave marks but he couldn’t stop himself. He groaned out deeply when she moaned his name. He would never forget that, he’d never let himself forget that sound. That breathless sound of his name on her lips. Something he had always wanted. “Carsyn...” He moaned before kissing her again.

Smiling into the kiss he gave her what she wanted. After his previous action he slid right in. He moaned against her mouth gripping her hip tightly before he started a fluid action. He was tender at first but then his animal side took over. one hand gripping her hair and the other holding onto her hip to keep her in place as he rocked back at fourth in a quick fashion. “Say my name.”
