This new story will be solely posted on my AO3 and here are the chapters collected.
Chap.: The Last Rays Of Sunshine
Status: ongoing.
Some more informations about this story:
Maki, a positively prideful ram-hybrid with his horns that adorned his head like a heavy and majestic crown, received an order to rescue a lamb woman from her attacked flock.
Hime, a soft-spoken and kind of vain lamb woman, was grateful for everything she once had, but her life started to fall apart, and hope seemed like a privilege solely held for pure, plain human beings.
A story between two beings of the same breed yet with characteristics that couldn't be more oxymoronic. With Maki having a strong sense of protecting and Hime wanting to be protected and cherished.

Disclaimer! I know that "lambs" are baby sheep and therefore immature and rams are mature male sheeps. This story is not about a "child" and "older male". Hime is twenty-five years old and a human being that got lamb ears and characteristics but she is not a child nor immature and none of my lamb characters get advantaged off by their overall beings. This story is about value, respect and being taken care of/cherished
To a better understanding about the hybrids:
They are normal human beings but mutated with different animalistic traits each being only got one physical manifestation but a whole pallette of emotional responses to their environment. For example a fox. A fox hybrid either got the tail or the ears but the character is deeply mixed with that of a human's.
Here a small visual (might change it some day)

The Jewel of the Sun
Chapter V: The Droplets on the Snow
Author's note: y'all, I'm sorry for showing Boromir in the worst light possible but pleaseeeeee, listen! I think it would be only logical for him to doubt Uirin, as I don't think that any man in Gondor would be used to the idea of women being powerful. To me, its only logical and I think its a good way to make a character arc, so trust me on this one and don't hate me. Luv you xoxo. Also, will start posting new chapters slower, cause I'll return to my studies soon, so I hope anyone will still be interested to read them after awhile <3 Chapter summary: The bringing of the Fellowship of the Ring: ten horsemen, brought together to traverse the dangers of the awaiting new journey. Uirin delves into her inner world along with all of the things troubling her, and sadly, Boromir further worsens her mood. PREVIEW:
Boromir opened his mouth, hardly containing his frustration. âHow dare you insult my intellect!ââ
âI am courageous to insult you, not for the possession of a foolish revenge, but for your will to oppose the notions of Gandalf and Lord Elrond,â she replied and lifted a brow. âMight I ask: who are you to oppose the excogitations of the wisest? I knew not of a lord that could carry such intellect!â
A month has passed, âtwas the end of December. Fall has been defeated by the grim winter. All fell to peace and quiet, the incredible stillness of the season. The pearly white snow has covered the surface of the earth wholly, engraving the decomposed leaves and the frozen kindred of the lean trees. The loaded clots of snow fell down once the branches were fettered by the mass. The trees glimmered by the reflecting light of the icicles that hung like diamond daggers, awaiting to stab an unsuspecting victim in the middle of a sunny day. The wind howled, disrupting the loneliness of the nature, sometimes hitting the icicles against each other and ringing whimsical tunes. However, the stench of death lingered in the air. The footprints in the snow were not only of rushing strangers trying to return to the warmth of their home but also the crimson imprints of heavy boots, crushing all that stood in their way. The droplets of blood dyed the trunks and even branches, painted the snow, and a starving predator would taste it in desperate hunger. The bloody tears dripped from the stinging weapons of the servants of darkness as they marched closer to Rivendell and to its allies, preparing to bring each to their knees. The stillness of winter made every being uneasy, as the gusts roared like the beasts that assailed each realm; the crunches of the snow brought awareness of whether the feet belonged to an assaulter or just a wanderer; the passing shadows within the horizon resembled the moving figures of darkness. Therefore, it became complicated to predict whether a stranger could cause danger or warn of the approaching foes.
Alas, the first scouts came back to Rivendell with tidings of former events in various regions of Middle-earth, along with reports of foes and their intents, their causing disruptions of peace in the lands, and of allies. Yet, they had not discovered anything particular about the Riders or the other servants; it seemed as if there was peace before the upcoming storm.
Solitude has come to pass, and every being rubbed their hands in anticipation and yet anxiety in the face of an unknown future.
Elrond invited a short list of guests to his fine office in order to discuss a matter that overrode other duties.
Uirin appeared to be one of the members, as Gandalf was the one to call upon her: âComest, my dear, to the vestry of Lord Elrond. It is time to receive a deal long awaited.â
A pull on the heavy knobs of Lord Elrondâs workplace and a tenuity in heart. Once Uirin stepped into the chamber, firstly Gandalfâs gaze greeted hers. The old man was leaning against the wall and observing each visitor with curiosity in his greyish eyes. Without anyoneâs notice, she quietly moved beside him. Once again, he turned to her and winked, not wishing to interrupt the dense emotions with useless words. Uirin followed his example and examined the room, in which she had spent so many hours.
Elrondâs office seemed relatively small from the width; however, this was only due to the amount of beautifully carved bookcases covering almost every single wall with a vast variety of scrolls, letters, journals, skilful paintings of beloved faces, and so much more. In between the bookcases were large embrasures with colourful glass stains that were similar to others in grand halls of Rivendell, and they brought the brightness of the snow to the room. Heavy dark violet velvet curtains guarded the stunning windows. The tall arched ceiling elongated the chamber. A blazing fireplace shone behind a neatly tidied desk that was decorated with pens of exotic feathers and almost golden sheets of paper. Everything was strictly organised and quite dull in front of such an influential persona; however, it had its own charm. Regardless of the Lordâs age, all seemed in its place, as if Uirinâs sleepless study hours were only yesterday.
The view dissatisfied her, so her gaze finally shifted onto the guests. She witnessed all of the hobbits, except for Bilbo, two of whom were unacquainted with her. One of them, Frodo, sat on a chair, probably brought from another room, while the others swarmed around him. There was a dwarf, once again unfamiliar to her past, yet she remembered him from the council. He also leaned to the wall, next to Gandalf, and crossed his arms in front of his chest, tapping his fingers impatiently against his bulky arms. An elf, whom she had occurrences with in the past. He stood by the bookcase beside Aragorn, who seemed drenched. Alas, two mortal men: Aragorn, who was an authority to her, resting by the window; however, to her surprise, beside him stood Boromir, who was oblivious to Uirinâs presence, as his back faced the wall.
Elrond was sitting in a comfortable and soft chair, deeply staring into Frodo's eyes as he spoke. âThe fateful hour hath come, Frodo; the bearer of the One Ring shall depart from the safe haven. I must beseech you for the final time: are you willing to embark upon this path and carry the One Ring to the fiery pits of Mordor? Hath not a keen contemplation swayed your decision?â
Frodoâs breath slightly hitched at the thought of the time of his departure finally arriving. He inhaled through his nostrils and nodded his head, while keeping a stern voice, though he shook slightly. âI will go if only Sam is allowed to keep me company,â Frodo answered, holding Sam's hand tightly.
âVerily, however, that is all I may offer you for the time being, for arduous it is to descry your journeyâs endlong! You shall encounter many adversaries, lurking in every path, and the essence of the Enemy could grow ever stronger with each step taken; even so, there are allies awaiting your arrival. We have dispatched missives anent you and your role in the fate of Middle-earth, although I cannot guarantee that they shall receive them betimes, for war hath taken some important passages.â Elrond rubbed his tense forehead, yet a comforting smile remained on his handsome face. âI have forged a company of assistance to aid you in traversing the perils. Initially I deemed it wise if the fellowship consisted of nine members, as there are nine Riders. Rash it would be to doubt mine counsel, for sorely Samwise shall accompany you, along with Gandalf, as it is the greatest task given to one and perchance his last quest. The remaining members would also represent the races of Middle-earth, and they would be of the elvesâLegolas; of the dwarvesâGimli son of GlĂłin; and of mankindâAragorn son of Arathorn, followed by Boromir, and, as Gandalf pleaded for a newly addition, I do consider that a healer and a sorcerer would come in handy; therefore, Uirin also shall join you. I believe you have been acquainted with her ere this meeting, have you not?"
Frodo turned around with genuine surprise plastered on his face. Hostility in his expression was almost gone, as the remedies he received from Uirinâs mastery did help him greatly, and so he was more or less sure that Uirin only sought to provide aid. He nodded to her. "I have; I am pleased to hear the news."
âI am grateful to hear of the ladyâs appearance in our fellowship. Safer I feel withal such tidings! A healer and an additional sorcerer would be greatly needed in our path,â said Aragorn, bowing his head to her.
Uirin only responded with a subtle smile on her face.
Yet Boromir remained silent throughout this whole time. He hastily turned his head to Uirin and threw a glare to her side, mixed with concern in the depths of his eyes. A stern expression, the one that doubted her before, appeared on his face once more. His lips almost visibly trembled as he fought the urge to open his mouth and debate whether âtwas an excellent idea to invite Uirin to such a dangerous task, yet he calmed his senses. âSo be it,â he spoke with his frown. He only afforded a sigh to himself.
Uirin withheld his outrageous stare with serenity, hiding the signs of irritation while facing the exhibited disrespect. Yet her chest burnt from a sense of anger. Even though she put on a facade of ignorance, the doubt Boromir expressed hurt her pride. Her brows slightly curved, as the memory of his apology now seemed pathetic since he did not hold his words for regretting his actions. He did not regret it, she believed, but rather wanted to gain sympathy and just shake off the feeling of being at someoneâs bad side. âFoolish man, a true noble heart,â Uirin thought to herself, while her mind raced with memories of many doubting her, based on different reasoning. She caught Gandalf watching her, patiently waiting to shift her focus unto him. He offered a comforting gaze, as if understanding her every thought and emotion; a smile in the form of a hug, to shake this discomfort out of her.
âBut I recall that Strider planned to leave for Minas Tirith along with Boromir, or have I been mistaken?â Frodo added, changing his attention to Aragorn; he was happier to hear about Aragornâs appearance in the company.
âAlas, I shall, for the Broken Sword must be reforged once more. Until that very hour passeth, we are bound to walk together for many miles; therefore, Boromir is joining us also, for he and I must return to fulfil the destiny of Gondor. He is a brave man, fearless,â said Aragorn with a smile, offering it to Boromir also.
âAnd so!â Elrond continued. âOne more needed to finish the portrait of our fellowship. Perchance I shall give this honour to someone of mine own kinââ
âBut aren't we allowed to join them?!â One of the hobbits shouted desperately. Gandalf whispered into Uirin's ear that his name was Pippin and that he was quite a headache of his. âWe want to follow Frodo!â
âWiser it would be for you to stay here, as âtis hard for you to comprehend the measure of peril awaiting the company and especially Frodo. Fear dreads me that you may stand in his path...â
âI am certain âtis not the case,â interrupted Gandalf Elrond. âNo one, not even I, comprehends the might that hath taken oâer Middle-earth and the kinds of perils that may dwell within it. If the hobbits would truly comprehend the awaiting peril, as we are referring to, they would only but enjoy their leisure in Rivendell; yet, their hearts would stop beating from the guilt of leaving their beloved friend behind. Therefore, I believe their courage and dedication to friendship are far more crucial to succour than strength or wisdom one might carry. Ponder upon it, my Lord.â
âWell then... I am afraid you hold truth in some part.â Elrond nodded his crowned head, but still doubt played in his voice. âYet, I am compelled to decline the offer. I do propose to dispatch the two hobbits to the Shire as messengers in order to forewarn its residents of the approaching peril, as I have received missives of strange things happening around those lands... Moreover, Peregrin Took is too youthful for such a journey; I cannot permit him and Merry to travel afar to Mordor.â
âThen, Lord Elrond, you'll have to tie me down; otherwise, we'll leave with everyone else, and you won't be able to stop us!â Pippin yelled while raising his fist to the heavens with another hobbitâMerryâon his side.
âPardon me, yet only one of you could join the company, notââ
âItâs either both of us or none of us!â Merry interrupted Elrondâs words, caught by Pippinâs enthusiasm. âBoth of us will follow the company, even if you wonât allow us to!â
Elrond desperately looked at Gandalf, and he only replied with a pleasant nod, making the lord sigh with fatigue.
âMy right to play part of important questions is taken by my own guests!â Elrond said, and stood up, raising his hands towards all of them as if he would be blessing the group for the upcoming fate. âVery well, you shall be the Fellowship of the Ring. Your departure is due to the approaching sennightâs end.â

Meditation in a lone chamber, where only the light of the beeswax candles kept company in studies throughout the darkness. The shuffling of yellowish dirty papers and the aggressive scribbling of a pen filled the emptiness of the room along with soft whispers of ancient words. A desk covered by a shadow of a woman, a veil leaning onto the surface. Wet cauldron, pipettes, scalpels, and mortar and pestle drying off on the windowsill. Greenish gauzes surrounding the desk. Bottles of freshly brewed remedies on the glazed dark wooden floor. A touch upon dried herbs, squeezed in-between the cold fingerpads. A wrongly written word scratched within the lines of symbols. Slightly furrowed brows, shielding the running pupils of squinted eyes. No thoughts behind a meaningful expression, only deep concentration and liveliness in the moment. A straight spine and hastily moving hands, grabbing one book, a scroll, then a journal, a pen and everything close to the grip. A lick on a fingertip and a turn of a curious sheet. The same heavy lilac plaid from before falling off the shoulders, as not even the deadliest tides could bother the meaningful solitude. Many hours had already passed, and the stoic figure resembled a statue, for it did not change its position, as if thirst and hunger were only imaginary.
âTwas the portrait of Uirin at the time of studying a beloved artâmedicine. Herbs and their usages, negative and positive properties; suturing techniques; methods of extracting foreign objects from a body in the most conservative way. Surgeries. Preventions. Reported cases of complicated stories, requiring quick intervention in the questions of life and death. Scrolls of meditations that teach how to concentrate the energy used for sorcery in cases of healing. Her mind was dizzy from all of the possibilities, and the endless resources of information made her heart ecstatic.
However, staying in the same spot for an unlimited amount of time was also unhealthy, and her body begged to take a breath of clean air.
Uirin stretched her arms above her head and wiggled her back, slowly getting up from the chair. Her entire being trembled from the sensation of finally moving after the long-lasting freeze. She almost forgot that the days are shorter in winter and only then noticed the night overcoming the horizon. A huff left her lips as the fatigue finally set within her and the realisation hit her of the period spent in her study. She strained herself once again, though she did promise to never repeat it, but terrible habits are hard to abandon. Then a tiny smile appeared on her face: it was a joy to be overwhelmed only by such a privilegeâno, by such pleasure.
The internal thoughts were suddenly disrupted by gentle scratches on the door, coming from the outside.
Uirin immediately realised who it was and rushed to open it. Her gaze fixed on the ground, and she offered a wide smile to the outsider. âMy, my! Gandalf, cometh!â
Uirin kneeled and picked up âGandalfâ. A soft purring machinery. Black abyss, as she liked to call it. Yes, a soft black cat rested in her arms, yawning lazily and rubbing its head into her chest. Yes, she named him âGandalfâ, yet the real Gandalf knew nothing of the dubious creature.
Years ago, Uirin noticed the same cat travelling for many miles, and once, he jumped onto the back of her horse and curled up into a ball. Gradually, it crawled into her embrace until they reached Rivendell. That fateful day, she jokingly called him âGandalfâ, and the cat gladly chirped in response. She laughed and laughed while gazing upon this cute beast and fed it, petted it with pure affection, kissing its tiny nose whilst playing with its bean-like paw pads. Both of them grew fond of each other and were simultaneously tied to one another. The souls of travellers, bearing the news and providing comfort to those who were suffering. Well, âtwas Uirinâs vision, as âGandalfâ comforted her on many occasionsâof course âtis a spiritual being!
Eventually, Uirin taught him to be her messenger; it was awfully difficult but worth in the long run.
Though Gandalf travelled a lot, he still had a pouch slightly touching the dirty ground; therefore, his belly was a bit greyish and stood out within its black shade.
Uirin sat down on the bed, which was quilted by warm grey fur, and laid Gandalf on the surface. The cat yawned once again and stretched on its back, exposing a belly before her. She could not contain herself and gently rubbed it. The cat purred and slowly blinked with its green eyes, wanting her to see it clearly. His tail lazily swung back and forth, making silent thumps on the mattress. Then her hand moved to his cheek and scratched it. He snuggled into her touch, flashing his tiny canines in pure delight and closing his eyes wholly. Already some strands of black fur had fallen out and covered the spot of laying.
Then Uirinâs hands finally reached Gandalfâs delicate neck and removed a loose collar with a small leather pouch attached to it. Once opened, there were miniature letters written in the smallest shrift. Uirin exhaled deeply as her eyes struggled to make out the words in the tiny pieces of paper, especially since some authors had no proper knowledge of grammar or general writing. There were messages from people all around Middle-earth, of different races, recollecting the successions of their healing progress, complications and so on. Most of them expressed gratitude and happiness for their barely visible scars, saved lives, healthy newborns and older children, and fresh strength to work and continue their tasks. Yet some dreaded her, as there were messages of folk portraying the ravaging armies of the Enemy, unknown beasts leaving their lairs. Her eyes followed the descriptions of trolls, orcs, goblins and many other beasts, including men. Elrond mentioned that his scouts did not report anything particular or dangerous, so this news grieved Uirin deeply.
A palm supported her face, cupping the mandible while squeezing it in thought.
Gandalf sensed her worry and got up slightly, only to flop on his side upon Uirinâs thighs and stare into her eyes. Oh, how much he wished to sleep, but instead he chose to comfort his matron. He meowed innocently and blinked even slower. Uirin brought her hands to him and caressed his face. Gandalf turned to her fingers and carefully licked with the rough tongue. then rubbing his face into them. It made Uirin wander away from the anxiety of the future, but it bore a strange wonder: was Gandalf cleaning himself with the help of her hand, was he begging for food, or was he comforting her?
âI must retrieve thee treats, my good fellow. Stayest, I shall return soon,â said Uirin and gently moved Gandalf to her side, laying him comfortably on the fur.
The chubby cat only meowed in response and snoozed off. To this day, it surprised her to see a creature falling asleep so effortlessly.
Wrapped in a warm fur cape, Uirin walked into the breezy night.
Alas, the sky was clear from the influence of the gloom, and the stars shone in the midnight blue heavens, blinking like the candles in the wilderness. The cheesy full moon smiled upon the face of the earth and rolled close to its surface, cherishing each pair of eyes gazing into its craters.
As feet carried her through silent halls, lonely terraces and dead gardens, her ears caught laughterâthe laughter of elven children. Curiosity piqued her interest, and she hid behind one of the many pillars.
The children ran around the frozen bush of roses, one chasing the other and making the dry petals of the blossoms fall onto the snow by the swirls of air. The name of the game being Tag. She watched them attentively, as she did not see many elven kindred and them being so carefree. Their locks of hair flew around gracefully along with the elegantly sewn attire, and their giggles and soft pants reminded one not of the ordinary human children but of holier existence. Yet they were just small replicas of their parents and were similar to those of humankind: all they wanted was to play and enjoy the moment, regardless of the surrounding dangers of the cruel world. Innocence and naivety burnt in their eyes, speaking of the wonders that the world could not imagine. Once they stopped, their cheeks glistened like red berries. Then they argued loudly as one finally caught the other, figuring whether it was fair or not.
Uirin exhaled softly while watching their arguments, then friendly hugs, and then the continuing chase, with some kind of pain stabbing her chest. She did not wish to admit it, for a part of her longed for something such as this. If only she could, she would have ripped this feeling away from her consciousness and thrown it in the scorching flames, yet she could not. The instinct of finding someone so dear to one, even as dear as to grow a healthy family, made her stomach ill from secret jealousy. The elves mated once and found their partners for the rest of their eternal lives. Humans did the same, even though not as successfully, for the mortal life had its own difficulties, which were only natural. Yet Uirin perceived herself as someone beyond the labels of the ordinary, juggling the simplicity of her mortality and the sacredness gifted to her. Therefore, she believed deeply: the earthly desires were to be limited and somewhat unattainable. Not a single man would wish for a wife like her, for she could not restrain herself at the comfort of a warm home and delicious foods, the faces of their children and the love offered to and by her husband. She also remembered that the youthfulness of a maiden left her face and slowly spoke of her age as she was but a mortal woman. Beauty, even in her younger days, was not one of her strengths, as she was never depicted as a graceful dame like those of nobility. The lack of compliments did not bother her, nor did the hurtful remarks of the elves about her appearance, for she knew that she was beautiful, even if nobody saw her beauty. Being perceived as beautiful was a pleasure taken away from her; she shook her headânay, âtis not so important; she was gifted her own âbeautyâ by the One and her parents, and for thatâshe was grateful. Grateful to be remembered by many for her mind, for her virtues and courage, for her altruism and devotion to goodness, for her extraordinary abilities and for her passion. A saint, matron of the suffering. Uirin frowned to herself: of course, âtis better to be regarded for the person that you are and not by the beauty, or rather the standards given by the influence of the elves or the royalty; she was more than thatâshe knew it. Nay, the life of love and a family was too restricting for her boundless soul. Uirin was built to be more than her desires, even as natural as those mentionedâperchance âtwas a challenge given by Eru IlĂşvatar to determine whether she was worthy of the title of a saint.
Yet, once Uirinâs gaze circled back to the elven kindred, the dreadful feeling crept in her chest once more. The laughter, their bubbly chatters, their tiny faces and calming smiles pained her greatly. She wished to turn away from that sight, yet she was glued to it, forced to longingly gaze upon it with a knowing of never experiencing it. Her life was more than thatâyes, far more.
Perhaps even a slight bit of romance experienced previously, even if it were tragic, would have cured her condition. Yet Uirin could only dwell upon that thought.
Then another figure, standing further away from the elflings, caught her attention.
Her brows twitched.
Lord Boromir.
Uirinâs instinct yelled at her to turn on a heel and bring Gandalf a meal after his long journey, but once againâcuriosity got the best of her. She examined him from afar, guarded by the pillar.
Boromirâs face was hard as a rock and rough as it ought to beâlacking expression, wrinkles forming between his dark brows as he followed every move made by the elven children. Lips squeezed shut. Cheeks dipped in, highlighting his cheekbones and a sharp jawline. It was hard to distinguish what he thought, as the grey tones clouded the depths of his eyes. A heavy fur coat rested on his broad shoulders. Crossed arms over the muscular chest. From his way of conveying emotions, she assumed that this imagery did not throb his heart. And she envied him for it at that very moment. Elves did not interest him, for they were distant from his kind. It truly seemed as if he came to fulfil his duty and leave this heavenly haven as soon as he could.
Suddenly, the parents of these elven children interrupted Uirinâs analysis. As Boromirâs gaze rose up to greet them, he finally witnessed her as well. Uirin deemed it inappropriate to turn away or run off, so she offered a polite smile and bowed her head lightly, just to display courtesy for the sake of respect. Yet, she paid no more attention to him, turning back to the family that had left the scene. Yet, the corners of her eyes noticed Boromir nearing in her direction. She braced herself for the inevitable converse and held her breath momentarily, for it would be rude to run away before him.
âGood eve, my lady,â Boromir spoke firstly, bowing his head to her as per usual.
âGood eve, indeed, my Lord. Alas, the clouds hath fled the heavens,â she replied politely, keeping eye contact with him and interlocking her fingers.
âAye. Are you well?â
âCertainly, and you, my Lord?â
âAll is well.â He nodded.
Forced silence. Uirin fell mute, wishing that the uncomfortable silence would force him to leave instantly. Yet, her plan was useless.
âNow, I beseech you, take my words with a grain of saltâŚâ he started.
âMine judgement ought to be rightful,â she almost whispered, as her guts warned her of where this conversation was heading.
Boromir cleared his throat and straightened his shoulders.
âI deny your presence in the fellowship.â
The sudden silence was broken by shrieks of ravens.
Since this was the second time Boromir questioned Uirinâs abilities, she reacted rather calmly, as if she was prepared for the attack with a sense of harmony within. Her expression was as empty as a shellâs, and she replied with confidence, not leaving her side, ââTis not mine decision to take part of the company, yet Gandalf hath asked me to aid him, and therefore I shall.â
âA dameâs place is not in the face of peril.â
âA mere dameâs, you sought to profess, yet I am no mere dame.â
âYour intellect does not comprehend the war and its damageâŚâ
âMine intellect speaketh my place is only in death and grave peril,â she replied, the sharpness of her words clicking on her tongue. âI wish not to discuss this matter any further. If all is said, farewell.â
Uirin was about to leave him as she did before at the ball, but Boromir grabbed her hand and pulled the attention onto him.
âMy lady, take my words not with offence, but with a keen mind. Puissant you areâI doubt not, yet the true peril you have not perceived, and thus, you shall leave us all ere we notice.â
âMy Lord,â replied Uirin, her voice still calm, âspeak not of the terrors I bore⌠Prithee, you have been to the council, and you have heard of the tidings I have proclaimed. It would be kind of you to hark back unto the memories and ponder what I have witnessed.â
âI wish not to cause offence! I truly bestow only the best upon you, yet I do believe it would be wise for you to step aside from this taskâŚâ
âLord Boromir, I shall repeat once more: I am not a mere dame,â interrupted Uirin, irritation slowly growing in her voice as she fought desperately. Yet, she did not pull her hand away from his tight grip, for the eagerness to win against her arrogant opponent blossomed slowly. âI have been taught of sorcery and of medicine, not for entertainment, but so I could use my might for the welfare of others. Prithee, do believeâŚâ
âAh, âtwas not the sight of the true war. âTwas only the glimpse of what shall await us all!â
âI thank you, but I am no fool. I know of what I have witnessed. Your fondness is much appreciated, yet I must leaveâŚâ
âNever in mine life have I witnessed a dame partaking in such a task, and never will I!âŚâ
Uirin grew bored of acting peacefully, and these words snapped her wholly.
âThen you shall. For the first time: you shall. And you shall bear this mystery withal your own intellect. And you shall comprehend it,â Uirin spoke, and her sharp mind felt pleasure while biting him.
Boromirâs eyes widened in response, and he halted. And then it seemed as if fumes were smoking out of his glare, and his brows almost pushed themselves into a singular line: a lord of Gondorâs honour has been disregarded! His hand squeezed hers almost painfully, yet the adrenaline coursing through her veins made it senseless. Their faces neared each other, yet their emotions contrasted: Boromir was slightly trembling from the unforeseen audacity of this woman, and Uirin stood as stoic and as cunning as a cursed blade.
I knew not of a lord that could carry such intellect!â
âRepeat those utterancesâŚâ Boromir almost spat in her face.
âNay, I shall not.â Uirin finally pulled her hand out of his grip with mighty force, and it took Boromir aback as a woman, who did not bear the same muscular mass as him, challenged his influence. âI shall not defend myself ere an ignorant man, and I shall not do so at this very moment. Be ignorant once, and I might forgive such stupidity, yet the second timeââ
âPardon your words, stupidity?!ââ Boromir stumbled one foot further away from her.
âAh, your hearing is splendid,â Uirin said in the calmest tone possible, as if her words meant nothing, but to Boromirâit was another cut in this duel of pride. Now they stood further away from each other and only threw daggers with their eyes. âHarken to me, for I shall not tolerate the disrespect, regardless of your high status.â
âAs a Gondorian, you should display decency to a lord of those lands!ââ
âI serve no lord, only people,â she interrupted. âNo lord shall eâer be higher than the One, and no lord shall eâer be greater than those whom possess lower income or status in society. For all that is gold does not glitter. Therefore, even the poorest beggar on Middle-earth shall be a lord for his kindness, for he resembles the grace of Eru IlĂşvatar, yet a lord withal ignorance shall neâer be a lord to me, for ignorance is not a trait the grand Creator possesses.â
Boromir became pale, as the wind howled along with Uirinâs words, seemingly responding to her emotions, even if she stood tall and proud. Then the corners of her lips lifted and the smile lines gave cunning cheerfulness to emotion.
âI plead: take mine words not withal offence, my Lord, for if it were true, it should not hurt your pride. Am I not correct?â
A final strike.
Boromir shook his head, feeling defeated by the sharpness of a tongue, and narrowed his outrageous gaze to the snowy ground.
âDo as you wish; all I wished for is to bring more insight.â
âI know your intents were not ill, yet I have chosen my own fate. I thank for the concern, yet now I must take my leave.â
And Uirin walked away, victorious in her justice, as she did before when they had first talked. Yet her heart bore Boromirâs doubt in her abilities, and it only fuelled mistrust in him. His action was filled with ignorance, and she knew that a hot-headed man like him did not deserve nearly as much of the attention that she had given him. She studied and ploughed hard day and night not to be doubted by a captain that has not mended the wounds of those who had seen death before their eyes.
Gandalf's munches on the pieces of fresh chicken, and the pets on his soft coat only made her delve into her inner self and wonder whether she will ever be seen for who she truly is and not what she was limited to be.

Vamp!Maki and OC!Hime
Word count 559
TW! Blood!
"No going back..." He fans over her skin and simply can't hold back any longer, feeling so weak that he barely feels his own heartbeat anymore. If it means being alive brings Hime joy, then he will walk out of his way.
With a last deep breath on both sides, his fangs grew, and he prepared her skin by kissing and gently sucking. Hime tried her best to stay as still as possible and braced herself for the pain that followed immediately.
She squeaked out just a tiny bit, and she felt him wanting to pull his fangs out, but she assured him that she was fine. Just as the two holes reached her vein, he withdrew his teeth from her and started to extract the luscious liquid, and it was his first time getting that precious human blood he had heard so much about. Every pull of blood made him stronger and stronger, and the taste is extraordinary. Something like sour cherries mixed with something raw, metallic, and uniquely hers. He tried to get as close to her as he could but watched on, not pushing her into the water. Since he takes much from her, her blood runs down from her throat down her collarbone, tinting the blue dress purple.
As Hime slightly felt weaker and weaker, she clung onto him, and he realized that it was enough. At least for now.
"Thank you so much, sweet thing. You saved my very life. I owe you the universe, and still nothing in it can express my gratitude." He pulled away and looked at her, seeing her a little pale but also grateful that she could be this useful.
She saw him being healthy and strong again, even looking better than ever. His skin seemed to glow with a warmth she had never seen in anyone before, and his eyes shone like amber. Hime watched him wipe off his bloody lips, and he studied her all the way.
"Come here, I need to seal these two wounds of yours." His voice got a new edge, and she found it ravishing.
As he reached her throat once again, he stuck out his tongue to press it on one of the wounds and then slid his way to the other wound. He absolutely loved that while Hime found it just a little disgusting yet pleasurable, she could do nothing but giggle.
"How often do you need my blood?" Hime asked a little weakened, still smiling out of thankfulness. He held her close, leaning down to kiss her cheek, forehead, and left temple.
"Not much, maybe every three months or whenever you want to offer me." He gently told her, tucking one of her loose wet strands back.
"But you have to tell me, okay?!" She asked with a weary voice as if she'll break into tears and compete with the lake on who can flush out more water.
"I have to be honest that it will never be an easy choice, but I will do it for you, and anyways, you are not going to turn into a vampire as long as I don't influence you with the poison that I can give you over my fangs. It is in my control; don't worrâ"
"Thank you for staying alive." She whispers and cuts him off by leaning against his lips...

His voice came out as if he were half choking and half breathing. Hime quickly looked at him, studying him as if something dangerous had happened to him.
"Yes?! Are you okay? What is it? You are not sounding normal." She slightly panicked, still drilling her eyes into his to search for anything odd.
He shakes his head at her neck, breathing out heavily. "I'm fine...nothing is lost or hurt on me, don't worry." His voice sounded older than ever, and his grip on her weakened.
"It is just...you know what I am, right?" He whispers against her skin, and with every breath he pushes out, it brings back her scent to his nose that snaps at his nose unmercifully.
"Of course, a vampire, but you told me that you'll be fine for the next fifty years. So why are you so weak right now? What do you want me to exactly know? You have to be clear if you need my help." Hime spoke out by holding him close to herself, feeling his heavy upper body leaning against hers, but due to the water, she could hold him up easily.
"The most common thing and most clichĂŠ thing that vampires need is blood, right? And not many vampires settle for animal blood, and it is not always out of pride that we don't want animal blood, but due to health and power; we also need human blood to survive. We are tied to this cursed destiny, but I feel as if I am running out of time much earlier than expected. But I refuse to take your blood; I would rather die a painful death than hurt you in the slightest." He had a hard time speaking these words, which took him a few minutes.
Hime felt utterly torn between guilt, shame, and a sudden feeling of lossâthat one feeling that eats your organs from inside. She gripped his upper arms and pushed him a little away from her, seeing him holding his head barely up with his remaining strength.
"Then you throw that protecting behavior over for just a moment and take what you need from me. And no need to refuse, I offer myself willingly." She determinedly said. Looking at him with a serious and stern expression.
"No, sweetheart...it'll hurt badly. I can't cause you this; please don't pressure me in this. I can't." His voice broke into a whine, cracking in front of her once again.
She gently pushed him back onto herself, making his lips barely meet her neck.
"Bite down..."

Vamp!Maki and OC!Hime
Word count: 886
They stepped out from the kitchen door and into his backyard. She let him lead the way towards the hidden lake she saw a few times during winter. She is curious about how it looks now in summer and full beauty. The way was certainly not something a normal human being would find that easily since a lot of trees, bushes, and middle-sized huge stones covered the way so that it looked like a sort of maze. For Maki, it was child's play to find that place over and over again.
"Are you excited, sweetheart?" Maki broke the comfortable silence. Holding her hand tighter.
"Of course, I am. I never swam before since I never traveled somewhere or just felt uncomfortable visiting an open bathhouse. But now being only with you at the lake, I feel just fine and surely over the moon." Hime giggles at the end and happily continues walking beside him.
As they passed the trees, carefully stepped over the tiny bushes, and gently squeezed themselves between two big stones that seemed like an old building, they finally arrived at the lake, and it looked straight out of a dream. The lake was clear, the stones in it visible, such as the moon throwing stars into it, making it look like a pool of pure silver with pearls. The plants around the lake grew idly these past months, giving a slight tropical air to everything, such as the active fireflies that swirled happily around. Hime could hear a cicada vibrating somewhere near her, and she needed a moment to take that view in.
"In winter it looked so dead and dull, but now I feel as if I have entered a whole new world." She told him in awe, letting go of his hand to approach the lake.
She could almost see her reflection so clearly with the stones underneath; she reached out a hand and touched the water.
"It is lukewarm because the stones got warmed up by the sun during the daytime. And it is so clean, just so different from the local lakes in parks."
Maki approached her and took the basket to lay the towels on the grass along the thick candles. He burned every one on and placed them around to create a bit more of an illuminated space.
"Can we go in now? I can't wait!" She happily squeaked out and looked at him with those kitten eyes of hers. How could he say no? Even though he wanted to unwind on the towels first.
However, as they got into the water, Hime needed to get used to the tingling feeling on her feet and calves from the water, and she couldn't come out of her giggling state. Maki also joined her in the water, standing in front of her while grinning down on her. Since she was a human child, she knew better how to have fun in nature than Maki.
The first splash of water hit him quite unexpectedly, and he held his arm over his face.
"Hey...that was unfair," he laughed out.
And just as she closed her eyes while laughing at him, a huge splash hit her, and she gasped, not expecting this amount of water.
"You already ruined my dress; time for revenge." Hime playfully hissed out and walked towards him, but she stepped onto a stone that made her foot move, and so she stumbled towards Maki. He tried to catch her in time, but instead they both fell into the water, with Hime being on top.
As she came down from the little shock, she quickly untangled from him to splash water in this vulnerable moment.
As it was his turn to splash water, Hime fell backwards and sat in the water, her arms covering her face. Little screams of joy escaped her, and Maki giggled along. As Hime had her arms over her face, she did not see what he was doing and noticed that it was still for a moment, so she dared to take a look.
She was greeted by a very close Maki that also got into the water with his knees and palms, slowly approaching her. Hime crawled a little backwards from him, her smile wavering a little as he still came closer, studying her new wet look.
"You look so different when you are wet with water...so different from your usual cute yet elegant look. You look more free and...exhilarating. It's satisfying, to be honest." He breathes out, his voice lower than usual and his gaze more intense...
After a while they decided to go deeper into the water but just enough that their shoulders would peek out, and they did a little and slow circling dance, holding each other. Their gazes were fixated on both of their eyes, and Hime felt as if the water had already filled out her lungs and stomach, making it almost impossible to breathe. Maki whispered sweet nothings into her ear and against her neck...and suddenly his lust for blood rose in his chest, clenching around his throat badly...he did not know if he could bring it over himself to bite down on her precious skin and cause her pain, but he started to seriously question it...because once he got her blood, he would need it frequently...
"Hime...?"

Redamancy Chap.9
Vamp!Maki and OC!Hime
Word count: 520
As summer came around, it was time to choose a swimming suit for both of them. Since the shopping shops are only open during the daytime, Maki needed to cover his skin up as much as he could to protect himself from the burning summer sun. It was the only thing that brought him to his knees. So Hime changed into her summer dress and was overall ready to go while Maki searched for a top that would also cover his neck. He chooses a button-up shirt with a turtleneck underneath to cover his neck area, along with leather gloves. For more protection, he grabs an umbrella for the sun.
They make their way towards the forest, passing the gate and entering the place with the tall trees and soft soil ground. In the forest he did not need to use the umbrella since the leaves did an excellent job of protecting him from the harsh sun. Hime breathed in the summer air of the freshly grown leaves of the trees, feeling light and overjoyed that she'll get her very first swimming dress.
As they stepped into the village, they walked down the shopping mile. Hime took his empty left hand and interlaced their fingers together. With his right hand he holds his umbrella. They looked at every display to see which shop sells swimming fashion, but they not only went there for those clothes but also to see new things and perhaps buy something else if they liked it.
After a while they found a shop that had swimming dresses on display, and they stood in front of it. It was a blue sailor dress with puffed arms with loose swimming trousers underneath. Beside it was a swimming suit for men. It was cut on the upper arms and upper thighs...for him it showed too much skin, and it would be too dangerous for him to go out in such clothing, so they went in to ask for something that would cover more of his skin.
At the shop Maki got disappointed for not finding something more covering for himself, so he made a deal with Hime. The deal is to only go swimming in the early evening to midnight, and it gave Hime a new thrill of excitement since she had never gone swimming before and clearly never at night. But why is she even surprised? After all, she is married to a creature of the darkness.
At home they sorted through the things they bought, including the two swimming suits. And they decided to not wait any longer and to go swimming once the sun set.
As the sun set, they made themselves ready, getting into their new suits. Hime wore the swimming dress in blue and with sailor characteristics. In his eyes she simply looked like sugar. Meanwhile, he had the male version of it on, also in blue and sailor-like. Hime packed a few things in a basket, such as towels, some snacks, and a few thick candles to place them around for more light. But to their fortune, it'll be a full moon tonight.

Redamancy Chap.8
Vamp!Maki and OC!Hime
Word count: 651
The week almost came to an end, and they made a deal. Whenever Hime has the desire to see him in his bat form, he is going to turn into one just for her to have her fun with him while taking care of or gently playing around with him. And instead Hime reads the spell over herself whenever he wants to spend time with her child form to fill that void in his heart that was caused by not having an inheritance, just like most of the other vampires his age already have.
So both fulfill their wishes to care for each other deeply in this way.
On the last evening before Hime would turn back to her adult form, they cuddled before sleep, and Hime made him read a story. Hime listened, and her breathing was even, indicating that she'll fall asleep sooner or later. But before she went to bed, she put on her usual nightgown to not wake up in torn clothes when she had grown back.
During the night Maki watched her sleep, and some time later, during the first rays of sunshine, Hime slowly grew back to her adult form, filling out the nightgown. She got a little restless during the transformation, but as soon as it was over, she fell back asleep for some hours...
Their days went by as normal as usual; since it is winter, they won't go out much except for a walk in the garden or forest or once a month into the village. They also have picked up a few new habits, as Hime was in a smaller form and Maki was in his bat form. These extraordinary forms helped them to get more and more at ease with each other and to trust that they would be cared for. For example, they have picked up the habit of making Maki brush Hime's hair every morning or watch her with more observations while Hime learned in his bat form to read his microexpressions better to understand his needs and wants way better than before. This vulnerability broke both of them, in a good way.
Before summer came for the promised swim in the hidden lake, they had experienced many other things, such as a few fights that always ended with him just hugging or kissing her to shut her up. With Hime accidentally hurting herself on her working table or while dusting off the shelves on the walls. That made him care for her for a few days or even a week, depending on the injury. Some evenings they ended their days with a slow dance in the living space with the gramophone gently playing in the background.
And yes, some days were boring too, and both had no idea what else to do besides walking his backyard, cleaning the mansion, or talking about the many things Maki saw coming and going, so they just spent those days mostly on their own in silence until something new came up or it was time to prepare lunch or dinner.
Sometimes, out of boredom, they tried new things out on each other, such as dressing up in newfoundclothes, trying out hairstyles, or even some make-up. Mostly their days in winter got over with board games, talks, and caring for each other.
As spring came around the corner, both decided to care for the garden to have it ravishing in summer. Clad in clothes that were okay to get dirty, they made their way into the garden, starting to dig out old and dead plants, rearranging some decor, and planting new seeds. This all took weeks to be done, and Hime and Maki are satisfied with how everything looked, only hoping that everything will grow as good as they want it to.
And after the spring slowly turned into warmer days, it was time for Hime to decide on a swimming suit.

Vamp!Maki and OC!Hime
Word count: 655
They started with finding any clothes that would fit her, and Maki rummaged a few old closets for any children's attire that was left from the previous vampire families. After a while he found some dresses in darker shades such as black, navy, and violet, along with some undergarments, socks, and shoes. She was absolutely not fond of her new situation and just agreed to every fabric he offered; after all, she has no other choice than taking them instead of enduring her time in this state with oversized clothes.
She refused to get help from him to change into these clothes even though he begged her to. She knew that she looked cute as anything else, but there was still her pride as an adult. Maybe she would let him help her later when she got used to the feeling, more or less.
The day went on with pushing chairs to higher surfaces, but Hime got tired of it, so she let him lift her on the kitchen counter to chat with him while he cooked dinner for both of them. After a while she started to gently swing her legs as she got lost in thought, and Maki laughed about it, which made Hime stop it immediately with an embarrassed blush.
As they ate dinner, Hime struggled to reach for her fork, and sighed.
"Maki, I cannot reach my fork, nor can I comfortably eat. Can I eat in my bed or on a couch?" Hime asked with a hopeless voice. Making Maki look up from his meal.
"Well, you could, but I would miss you on the table. I have a better idea."
Maki stood up and took her plate and cutlery beside his while Hime observed him with confusion. Then he pulled her chair back and lifted her up in his arms, too. With her, he sat down on his chair and placed Hime on his thigh, making her reach the table and the things on it far better.
"Better? Here, your fork."
He hands her the fork over, and Hime starts to poke her food, and somehow she enjoys being this small.
The days went by with Maki helping Hime a lot around the mansion and even carefully watching her not to accidentally hurt herself in her sudden smaller self. Since a few days were left but Hime got used to being small, she took advantage of the situation and made him come to bed much, much earlier only to cuddle a lot and get a story read before she would fall asleep. Her tiny body was barely able to wrap around his while cuddling, but she still enjoyed it, and so did he.
During the daytime Hime couldn't work on her table like this; the work utensils were too big and heavy in her hand. Not to mention the safety risks that come with it, especially for 'children.' So, to entertain her in any way, he had her sitting on his lap or thigh whenever he worked on some studies, books, or writing letters. Sometimes Hime was out of energy much faster than usual due to her smaller body, and she fell asleep, head resting on his chest or shoulder, finding it utterly adorable.
He thought for a while about how it would have been when he had a child, especially a daughter. Since he is living out his last tiny remnants of his long vampire life, he would not get a child with Hime because it will become a vampire, and their child is going to have a very short span of time with its parents. For a human being, fifty years of spending time with parents is most common, but for a vampire, it's just as if ten years passedâin other words, Maki is too 'old' to have a heritage. So he just enjoys his time with Hime as much as he can in his remaining life.

Vamp!Maki and OC!Hime
Word count: 483
Once in front of the mirror, Hime squeaked and called out to him. Of course Maki heard her, but he took his time to arrive since he knows her calls and can extract from her voice if it is urgent or something she desperately wants to know or just tell him. In the meantime, Hime steps closer to the mirror and touches her face. Her eyes seemed bigger, her nose smaller, and the pout on her lips rounder. After a little while she knew what happened to her...she is the small Hime she was twenty years ago, meaning five. Seeing herself like that made her feel mixed things. But as she dwelled in her thoughts, Maki arrived and pushed the door open, still wearing his glasses out of...well, just because he can.
"Hime?! What happened? Why do you look like that?" He asked with a high-pitched voice out of mild shock.
Maki approached her and crouched down on one knee beside her, holding her at her right shoulder to see what happened to her.
"Did you...did you just read a spell upon yourself? From where did you get that book?"
"I-I got bored and rummaged the higher shelves for something new. A big book caught my attention, so I started to look through it. One special spell got into my eye, and I read it out loud only to test it on my tongue..." She justified herself in an undeveloped voice. Maki had the lingering feeling that he was talking to a child.
Which he technically is right now.
"Now, alright. It happened, and let's see how we can bring you back to be my wife."
Maki lets go of her to pick up the book on that one specific spell. Reading over the pages to find the recipe to turn her back into an adult. But the more he reads, the more he realizes that there is no recipe for it but a timeframe.
"And? When will I be big again?" Hime said and walked up to him, tugging at his trousers on his leg.
"Well, there is no specific drink nor food to turn you back, but a timeframe...and it is a span of one week." Maki pressed out and pinched his nose bridge. But the idea of having a smaller version of Hime slowly creeps up in his mind as something that could be cute and fun, he had to admit.
"One week?! I can't stay like this for so long! Please, you have to do something; after all, you are the magical creature here!" Hime panicked and gestured around.
"Sweety, you heard me. It is one week, and then you'll turn back into your normal self again. You have to endure this now. But how about we make the best out of it?" He couldn't hide his excitement any longer, and Hime crossed her arms along with a pout.

Redamancy Chap.5
Vamp!Maki and OC!Hime
Word count: 596
Some days passed, and they got more and more used to the fact that they are a married couple, an extraordinary one on top. During the daytime Maki sat in his study to read some of his newer books, and Hime did some ravishing things on her silversmith table. They would meet in the afternoon and chat about the things they have learned and done over some tea and baked goodies. After that, they would go to the kitchen to prepare a dinner, especially for Hime since she is a human being and needs nourishment. Sometimes he would take her on walks to places she had never seen before but had read about in some books about England. Maki also showed her a hidden lake that was currently frozen but outstanding in summer, and he promised her that he would go for a swim with her, and Hime already pictured getting a sailor swimsuit with those short skirts that were just an inch above her knees. What also happened, but was rare, is that they would visit the village to hang around in a coffee shop or visit the monthly market to let Hime see the attractions and buy her a warm drink.
However, Hime was currently working on some silver rings that she made out of old cutlery since they had beautiful flowers on them. But eventually she got tired and sort of bored of this and wanted to see something else, so she got up and tidied up her table. Once hands are washed, she leaves the room and walks towards the nearby library room.
There she climbs on a ladder to study the books that were high up. With a huff, she reached the highest shelf and made sure she wouldn't fall off as she then reached out to a very old-looking book with thick leather. The book was big but surprisingly light. With her newfound treasure, she climbs down the ladder and sits down on the wooden floor, opening a random page. It seemed like a spellbook with old magic that was once used, along with drawings of herbs, roots, and flowers and some recipes. Hime had a slight frown as she barely read over the lines; they weren't in English but still readable. On a particular page she stood still, and a line caught her attention; she simply had to read that out loud.
Hime got a slight shiver after she spoke out the spell and looked around to see if something happened but to her alleviation nothing happened, and she breathed out in relief. But just as soon as she wanted to close the book to put it back, her hand got smaller, and Hime gasped.
Then her arm shrank in too, which made her dress too big and loose. Hime fell back on her backside, being scared of what was happening to her. Her other hand and arm also shrank along with her feet, calves, and thighs. Her upper body started to shrink so much that the dress looked like a sack on her, and the hips that filled out the dress also shrunk.
She was both in awe and fear, wanting to call out to Maki but still too paralyzed by what was happening to her, and the last thing that shrunk was her head, and that was the most uncommon feeling she had. Her hair suddenly touched the floor. She tried to get up and look into the nearby mirror but stumbled over her dress, so she gathered it in her arms and tossed her shoes away.

Redamancy Chap.4
Vamp!Maki Shinichi and OC!Hime
Word count: 705
As it was full enough, she turned off the faucet. Turning towards him, and as she reached Maki, she gently scratched his head to indicate that the sink was full now. He loosened his leather wings and looked up to her. Hime gently lifted him up into her hands and carried him over, humming a tune. With one hand she holds him, making him lie on his stomach, and Maki instinctively holds onto her hand as she lowers him into the water.
Those were all new sensations for him in his bat form. All he knew was rain, wind, and wooden bricks when he landed on a tree. However, this is something entirely new, and he had to admit it, even though it struck at his pride.
Another tiny squeak escaped him as she fully lowered him into the water. He hates himself for it.
Hime happily washed him and cooed at him more than he felt comfortable with, but for God's sake, Maki let Hime do whatever she wanted. She took a little washcloth and scrubbed his back, neck, head, and even his tiny feet and hands. After a while she carefully turned him over to wash his belly and wings.
"I cannot believe that I have married a bat. I even love you more than before. You need to promise me that you will show yourself more often in this form, okay? I need it for my well-being," Hime announced cheerly, continuing the washing.
Maki's nose twitched in response, and he fully submitted to her mercy.
A little while later she got him out of the sink, placing him on a clean and dry towel. Wrapping him in it, she dries him off, gently patting and rubbing his shiny black and dark brown fur dry. As he was partly dry, she opens the towel and takes a brush from the counter; with timid fingers, she brushes his fur into its regular shape. And as a little treatment, she takes some of her body oil she uses after a bath to make her dry skin plump again. She lets a few drops onto her fingertips, making her way to work on his fur. First on his head, then down his back, and Maki could not help but close his eyes and let out an occasional squeak. Hime took her time to work in the oil, gently massaging his tiny back. With that she whispered that she is going to turn him over once again on his back. He became sluggish in her hands, not caring anymore for anything.
Left were his wings, and for that she took another balm. Rubbing it onto the leather to make it even smoother and shinier. A tiny bit got his ears too.
Completely done with the pampering, she needed to see him wrapped up in a towel again, and with that, she folded him in, lifting the wrapped-up bat in her hands.
"Can you stay like this the entire night? I want to cuddle with you in sleep!" Hime joyfully beamed, kissing his tiny head. Maki nodded with his nose, moving his head up and down.
Once in the bedroom, Hime places him onto the bed, telling him to wait for her until she makes herself ready for bed. Of course he would wait; he basically became butter in her hands.
She came back from the attached bathroom, fully clad in her sleepwear. The only light in the room was a half-burned candle, dancing over the furniture. Hime takes Maki out of the towel and gets with him under the blankets, placing him on her chest that was covered in a frilly nightgown.
Hime talks to him for a while and cuddles his tiny bat endlessly; she is so delighted to have him in this form beside her. Endless nuzzlings made his fur disheveled, and to their both surprise, Maki let out a yawn, showing his tiny teeth and pink tongue. But vampires normally do not need sleep. How does this happen? As Hime thought, she saw him lay his head back on her chest, happily falling asleep. Hime is going to talk to him tomorrow about this miracle, and soon enough her eyes also started to droop...

Redamancy Chap.3
Vamp!Maki Shinichi and OC!Hime
Word count: 744
Maki got flustered and fidgeted a little in his seat, not knowing what his wife had in mind with his bat form since he had never gotten patted as a bat before... Is that a good idea?
"W-What do you mean by that, sweety?" His voice was a little gruff and suppressed, his hand covering his mouth as he placed his elbow on his knee, bending over a little, eyeing Hime.
"What I mean is that I want to take care of you in your bat form; that includes," she starts to count on her fingers. "Patting you, cuddling you, nuzzling you, taking care of your fur, feeding you, and even bathing and then drying you off." Hime grins over all ears.
Maki could not help but deeply blush and stumble over his words: "What? No...I mean, yes, you can, but...I don't know if I can let myself be THIS vulnerable...please don't do this to me, sweet thing."
Hime patted his shoulder, leaning closer and then laying her head on him, looking up into his eyes.
"Aww, come on. I won't tell anyone. Pretty please...yes? I always wanted to have a pet that I could take care of, and now I have one right in front of me, and you want me to refuse?"
"No, of course not...it is just...not even my mom took care of me like that in my bat form, and I only used my animal form to make things quicker or easier, for survival, you know?"
She slides her hand from his shoulder, down his arm, and then, taking his hand in hers, gives it a squeeze.
"Then now would be the perfect time, no? Anyways, if you feel very uncomfortable, you can turn back anytime; I won't be mad, but I will be proud of you for at least trying."
She resignedly voices out, and it makes him feel a little safer around her.
He nods and gently detangles from her, standing up. Hime watches him in awe as he turns from one second to the other into a bat. He flies around the room a little, and Hime also stands up, watching him fly in circles above her head. With a swift move of his, he flies just an inch apart from her, causing her hair to fly up a little...how powerful his leather wings were. Then he lowers himself in front of her, being at eye height with her. He flaps his wings to stay in the air, making her hair around her face also flap a little from the gentle breeze he causes.
She instinctively opens her hands, wanting him to lie or at least land on her palms. And as if he waited for it, he lands on soft hands, feeling them as cushions. He trembles a little, but Hime secures him in her gentle grip. Slowly she brings him up to her cheek...nuzzling him. Making him let out an unexpected squeak, and Hime giggled, her cheeks warming up, and he could feel it; he also started to gently nuzzle her face back. After a moment she holds him away from herself, and Maki already misses her warmth, but she has so much love in her eyes towards his bat form that she cannot resist the urge to kiss him all over, and each kiss makes him squeak.
Hime takes him out of the study, with him lying flat on his stomach in her palms, facing towards the direction she takes him.
"Going to bath you now," Hime happily presses out as she nuzzles his neck and gives a quick kiss on the back of his furry head. Maki felt incredibly shy and embarrassed, but whatever his beloved Hime wanted.
In the bathroom Hime lights a few candles since the sun has already set. And settles him down on a pile of freshly washed towels, patting his head a little and caressing his back as she then turned away from him, walking towards the sink. She plugs the drain and opens the faucet, letting in the lukewarm water...for hot water she needed to boil it in a pot, but for that she could not wait. As the sink filled, she put in some soap...and looked over to him, seeing that he was looking at her the entire time. As Maki got caught staring, he wrapped himself in his wings, letting out a squeak. Hime playfully rolled her eyes at him, turning back to the sink.

Redamancy Chap.2
Vamp!Maki Shinichi and OC!Hime
Word count: 548
"I see...and what do you want me to ask?" He whispers over his cup, gazing deep into her eyes as he takes another sip.
"You certainly remember when you personally delivered my invitation to Uirin? You did that as a bat...please, I am desperate to know more about it. I have never seen something like that before!" All of a sudden Hime got excited to see that form of him again, the words at the end of the sentence coming out like a waterfall.
Maki chuckled at this and knew that she would come up with this sooner or later. Being in the picture, she found him utterly cute...but he had to admit that it nagged a little on his ego...since his bat form is also highly vulnerable. But it is his wife that asks for it and his love of his life that he waited for so long. For her, he can bury his ego.
"Yes, I do remember it; how could I not? But what is with that? What do you want to know?" Maki says with an unwavering smile, also being grateful for her interest in him.
"Just...wow...that you can turn into a bat. Literally shifting your human body into an animal's. My mind cannot cope with that, and I need an explanation along with a demonstration." Hime confidently demanded, batting her eyelashes.
He sighs and searches for the right words.
"Well, alright. You have me where you want me to. As you know, we vampires are eighty percent human and twenty percent animal, a bat. Since I am also an animal, somewhere in my genes. I can choose from a human body to a bat body since both exist at the same time. I just need to manifest it at the time I want it to happen. I feel myself as if I am already that bat, and then it just happens...and how the transformation feels...well, as if someone pressures you through a tight pipe and then quickly pulls you out underneath."
He chuckles as he sees Hime's jaw drop and reaches out to close it gently with his fingertip. Making her gulp in response.
"That is literally insane...if I were to tell that to someone, they would think that I am working on a story or something. Are you feeling cool with it?"
She simply had to ask this childish question, and he heartily laughed about it.
"Hmm...never thought about feeling cool with it. I just have to admit that my bat form is not as powerful as my human body. So, to be honest, I feel incredibly self-conscious and vulnerable when I turn into my bat form. Because I get so tiny and squeak around."
"But that is so cute!" Hime happily shouts out. "Please, I won't laugh at you, so please turn into your bat form. I want to pat you so immensely that it would hurt me if you denied me this request."
"Alright, because it is you. And just remember, no making fun of me or toying around, got it?" Maki asked a little hesitantly, but he could trust her; he just knew it.
"I promise I will not laugh about it. But there are a few things I would like to do with you in your bat form."

Redamancy Chap.1 Pt.3
Vamp!Maki Shinichi and OC!Hime
Word count: 529.
A few weeks passed after their wedding, and they could not be happier. Hime is still getting surprised by his abilities as a vampire, and she tries to adjust to her new environment with him. Maki also decided to act more like a human being with a solid sleep schedule that he adjusted to Hime's sleep routine, not letting her fall asleep alone and not letting her wake up as a loner. Maki also got more considerate about her weaknesses as a human being, such as her emotional growth into this new life. Whenever Hime wanted to clear something or talk about anything that was bothering, concerning, or confusing her, he had an open ear and happily indulged in conversations with her over some tea.
Hime did not forget about his ability to turn into a domesticated fruit bat, and she wants to talk about it with him.
On a particular day with lots of snow and gray skies, she got a little bored, so Hime decided that it was enough for today to work as the silversmith she is. Before she gets up from her desk, she looks around, being thankful that Maki accepted the itch in her hands to work on something and he got her everything she needed for this kind of job.
On her way towards his study, she hums a little tune that she listened to from the gramophone at breakfast. Of course Maki could hear her approaching, so he stood up and went to his door; just a few inches left, and he opened the door to a surprised Hime that held her fist up, ready to knock. But that was no reason anymore.
"Wow. You still surprise me, dear." Hime breathes out along with a giggle and steps in as Maki steps away to make her room.
"Good evening, sweetheart. How was your handiwork? Could you produce some new things?" He gently asked as he poured her a cup of tea and placed it on the coffee table that was in front of the couch in his semi-lighted study room.
Hime saw the many books he was currently reading...or more like studying. But she spoke up to his question. "Oh, that...yes, thank you. I did some rings, an arm bracelet, and another one of my beloved daggers. It was a lot of bending over the table, but they turned out well...might sell them anytime sooner or later when we visit the market. My hands and my back hurt a little; that is why I need a break."
Sips her tea and lets out an exhausted breath she was holding in, not realizing she was holding it for a little while. Maki sat beside her, also taking a cup of tea. His free hand landed on her dress-covered thigh, giving her a pat.
"You did good. I am proud of you for wanting to keep this work up. Do I get a chance to see them anytime? Or are they top secret?"
"Of course you can see them. But not now; I need a break and also something to ask you." Hime said with a slightly annoyed voice that was laced with playfulness.

Matrimony Chap.16
wedding of Vamp!Maki and OC!Hime
Word count: 499
The party went on, and the vampires started feeling more comfortable around the human beings. The two old friends of Hime danced with the two vampire boys from the four-headed family, and Jin danced with Uirin since Kiyota got overall too touchy with her and Maki scolded him for it. Kiyota had the only free female guest that was free, the young vampire girl, and with her he got more serious and actually danced with her. After a while Harold's two sons also started to get more touchy with Hime's two friends, even leaning their lips on their necks, making the girls giggle, but Harold struck in and pulled on their ears. As the party came to an end, Hime wanted to have a last dance with Uirin.
"We haven't talked properly, have we?" Hime trailed a little, being overwhelmed by joy to sway around with her. Grinning into her face.
"We have not, dear, and I am happy that you invited me. Say, how did you meet him? I cannot remember him when I last lived in the village. Had you, perhaps?"
Uirin asked gently as she looked straight into Hime's soul, making her feel seen and understood.
"It was something extraordinary...let's say that I got lost in the forest, you crossed to reach this area, and he found me there. We talked a lot, and somehow over time I fell in love with him..." Hime giggled, and she whispered those words out.
Uirin chuckled along, holding Hime's hand and waist, leading her in a rhythmic dance.
"But Uirin, from all the time of not seeing you. You have matured so much, in a good way, of course. You look much wiser and even more soothing for the eyes. Have you also found a new group of friends? Are you happy in Wales?"
Uirin grinned for a while as she listened to her dear friend.
"Thank you, honey. Yes, I have found my people there, and everyone is just as snug as I expected. The seaside is everything I have ever dreamed of because there I can concentrate on my gift as best as I can, and it feels liberating. Nature helps me to understand myself even better than before. And for what I do there for living, I work there as sort of something like an "alternative practitioner," which I love so much since the people there are happy with the way I use the nature on them."
Hime listened with an unwavering smile and squeezed her hand in empathy and shared happiness that Uirin found her lightheartedness...
After a while the clock hit three a.m., and the human guests started to get sleepy as well. Everyone puts on their coats, and Maki leads them back to the mansion. Hime walks beside Uirin, holding her hand, and they both lean on each other since they got heavy sleeply.
Once in the mansion, everyone got their own guest rooms. And now Hime and Uirin needed to part ways.

Matrimony Chap.17
Wedding of Vamp!Maki and OC!Hime
Word count: 501
"Good night, Uirin. We see us in the morning at breakfast."
With that, they untangled their hands, and Hime followed Maki back from the guestroom section of the mansion.
Hime got extremely sleepy, but she insisted on helping him clean up the greenhouse. But he refused and instead led her towards their best bedroom, wanting her to use this room from now on.
"You can make yourself ready for bed; I'll quickly clean up the greenhouse. Just collecting the plates and cutlery. Don't worry about the furniture; I will carry it back when our guests have left. And don't wait for me; you can sleep."
With that he closed the door and left her alone in the room, giving her time to get out of the dress and makeup.
After she had removed her dress and make-up, she decided on a quick bath to get rid of the sweat she produced out of excitement, movement, and nervousness. She almost fell asleep in the tub when she did not hear him enter the bedroom. Since the bathroom was attached to the bedroom, she could hear him being in there, and she rubbed her eyes. Quickly washing herself up and drying off. With wobbly legs she approaches the small clock that was on a counter and sees how late it has become. Never in her life had she stayed awake this long, and she put on a fresh set of underwear with trembling hands. With her last remaining power, she grabs a robe and puts it on. Reentering the bedroom where he also has changed from his suit into casual bedwear. She just greeted him with words that a human being would not be able to hear, and with that she slumped into bed, falling asleep...
The next morning it was the first time that she woke up in his arms in a shared bed, and it indeed felt as if she needed to get used to this. Since he did not need sleep in general, he still decided to go for a few hours of sleep just to match her human behavior a little more to make her comfortable.
Later on, as everyone sat in the dining room, they all had breakfast and all chatted about yesterday with a few topics from their own private lives. Some human guests were still a little sleepy but happy nonetheless.
The next day was the day to say goodbye to their guests, and Hime had a hard time detangling from her parents and especially Uirin. They hugged for a long time but needed to let go sometime later or sooner. Maki arranged carriages for the human guests that would bring them right on time to the train stations to let them catch their train back home, but the other two friends of Hime decided to go by walk back into the village...
Now for Maki and especially Hime has begun a path full of events that were far from what a normal human being experienced...
