Day 833 of the PhD

I have officially submitted my first abstract to a conference. I hope I get accepted, I’m so ready to share my research. Feel like I finally understanding what I’m doing. Such an odd thing to say since I’m submitting next year… but this PhD has evolved so much!

Now that the abstract is done… it’s time to go back to writing the exegesis and designing this thing!

as sundays are my days off - i'd like to reflect on may.

i never expected that as april came to a close i'd find the strength to genuinely return to my studies and hobbies with discipline for the first time in over a year.

with 100+ recorded study hours during the month of may, consistency and progress in my yoga practice, and a rediscovered passion for studying the law, i could not have asked for a better month.

oh, how april showers really do bring may flowers!

oh! how i have bloomed with a mind full of sunshine instead of dreary clouds!

i pray june brings you discipline even if it doesn't bring you motivation.

I don't think I ever posted this here, but I am finally done with graduation and the convocation. Wow, never thought the undergrad era would end, but here we are. Now it's a flurry of visa apps, shopping and packing and hopefully I get enough of my home before I am shipped off to Europe for two years.

made a lot of progress during the first weeks of may, but then things got busy these last two weeks and i've hardly been able to do anything related to my thesis. i'm finally getting back into it now -- hopefully i'll get much more done in june. wish me luck 🤞🏼🍀🧉

With all the analysis I've been doing for Romeo and Juliet and a Christmas Carol, I really hope I cook on the actual exam on Monday. English is like my worst subject.

I used to hate maths and like English but the tables have turned lol

Hi! About 5 more days left for my exams and I found out:

A) The first exam which was supposedly just a pass or fail thingy is actually graded and it was one big misunderstanding? Uhhhh not sure what to do now though

B) I have a mock this weekend that I really didn’t anticipate/make time for so uhhh not sure what to do now part 2

Lowkey getting to the point of being too fed up, pissed and overwhelmed I just wanna say fuck it and sleep all day but guess I have to push through 🙃

Honestly, y'all, I'm begging you. Take the time to think and learn for yourself. Even if it's just something casual like knitting or cooking. Exercise your brain. It's important.
