reading AOS McKirk fic and the non-canon Starfleet Academy books is just constantly reminding me of that one time someone really broke me.
“Oh Doc I've been there. ”I said to myself the 100108619946520 time, reading another one of Leonard McCoy's fear of intimacy and depression moments.
Breaking up with someone you wanted to spend the rest of your life with is hard enough, a child too? Your own little daughter. Can't imagine the feeling…
I don't like alcohol but McCoy drinking is understandable. AOS Bones kind of needs it.
I'm still surprised he's already so trusting towards Jim the first week. It probably really was “love at first sight”. He truly adores Jim for no reason.
Attraction of fate? Hard to tell.
His social circle is also obscure af, I'm guessing he really is picky with who he hangs out with. And surprisingly, of all people, he chose to have Jim in his life.
He definitely thinks Jim Kirk is attractive. In all sorts of ways.

all my relationships with alcoholics sucked.
so I can safely say that McCoy is definitely not a alcoholic, he's a sexy drinker and a good friend.
he's also sweet and reliable.
professional describes him…most time, I think. Extremely capable would fit better. (honestly? Jim and Bones use their ranks for so much fun, it was so beyond me to learn they weren't as professional as I have originally thought)
Bones' emotional side can get in the way sometimes, but also helpful, especially to Jim, I guess he makes Jim feel a sense of human.

Later part of Season 3 of Star Trek TOS was so nah, but I had the great motivation of seeing Bones cold and getting kissed by Natira, who's a lot like Jim Kirk to finish the season. (“For The World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky”, “All Our Yesterdays”)
The other thing was that Season 3 brought me more McKirk moments. Like when Jim had to decide if he should allow Bones to risk his own life to save Spock's, and later encouraging Bones not to panic and do the procedure. He was so relived to see Bones safe.
Bones kissing Dr. Miranda Jones' hand after Jim held it. (“Is There In Truth No Beauty?”)
(same episode with Hollow World) Bones caught xenopolycythemia and Jim just doesn't react much.
Now, I always like it when one is dying in my ship, I know Bones wouldn't be coping so well, he'd express it in someway, he's been pretty outwards with his feelings, especially about Jim.
Jim on the other hand, never tell anyone a thing, except talking to Bones. And now that the only person he talks to is going to leave him behind…he must have mixed feelings, but doesn't want Bones to worry about them.
I also loved “The Empath”. The vibe of it is something…I just love dancers.
I think it really went downhill from “Elaan of Troyius”. Kind of hated that episode for making Kirk a third party in a engagement ngl.
