“No vegans are claiming to be perfect, and no vegans are claiming that their very existence is not harmful to this planet (or at least any vegans that are, are deluded). All we’re doing is offering a PRACTICAL solution for a very serious issue that is currently happening: the largest act of systematic violence in history, and its resulting havoc on the planet, and indeed on other humans.
I don’t have a practical solution to your argument about squirrel habitat being destroyed for my home. I don’t have a practical solution to your argument that pieces of metal in the electronic devices I own were mined by slave children. And I don’t have a practical solution to your argument that I pollute the air by using modern transport.
But I DO have a practical solution for the lambs being slammed to death on concrete because they’re not fit to produce wool. I DO have a practical solution for the dairy cows whose existence revolves around having their reproductive system violated and their babies snatched from them and stabbed to death. I DO have a practical solution for the ongoing deforestation of the Amazon, the lungs of the earth, in order to grow cattle feed. And I DO have a practical solution for the male chicks who are being shredded alive or suffocated to death in the egg industry. I’ve told you about it a thousand times before, and it’s called VEGANISM.
So I will continue to promote this practical solution to these issues, while awaiting your practical solutions to the issues of squirrel habitat being destroyed to build homes; slave children mining parts in our electronic devices; and pollutants being pumped into the air from using modern transport.
And when you’ve got them, I will gladly jump on-board. Until then though, I think it’s about time that you jump on-board with the practical solution I’ve offered to the issues I’ve raised.”

The Hardest Part About Being Vegan
It’s not finding vegan restaurant options. It’s not self control around devilled eggs at Christmas. It’s not keeping up your health. It’s not getting in enough calories. It’s definitely not getting in your protein. It’s not finding non-leather shoes. It’s not finding cheap cruelty free makeup.
The hardest thing about being vegan is watching Earthlings with your mother, and not ten minutes after it’s over, watching her prepare chicken for dinner.
It’s hearing nonvegan friends talk about standard factory farm practices and realising that they aren’t ignorant, they just don’t care.
It’s hearing your brother say “they’re just animals” and ordering a lambskin coat online, not caring that it was made out of slaughtered children.
It’s hearing your grandmother laugh out loud while reading about dairy cows being raped so they can begin producing milk.
It’s seeing your pregnant sister eating pork chops, eating a pig’s body, and feeding the tiny helpless life inside her that dead animal body too.
It’s knowing about your fathers dangerously high blood pressure and watching him eat the milky, cheesy, scrambled eggs your mother prepared for him.
It’s hearing a dog-loving classmate say that it is ethically wrong to eat dog-meat, but perfectly okay to eat chickens, pigs, and cows, because she ties what is ethical to what she personally wants.
It’s realising that the world is not as compassionate as you. It isn’t actually as normal as you thought to care about the wellbeing of others. Your heart is abnormally large and the rest of the world is apathetic and cruel. The rest of the world doesn’t care who suffers for their tastebuds.
It’s seeing the selfishness, greediness, apathy, arrogance, evilness, and coldheartedness of humanity and living in it every single day.

assuming being gay is inherently about sexual deviance or hypersexuality is homophobic. what is wrong with this fucking website passing the idea that anyone discussing being gay must clarify whether or not sex is involved is progressive. weve really looped right back around to baseline homophobia

We’ve mostly harvested our corn from our #slashmulch #3sisters garden this season, and again, it has exceeded my expectations. This year, our corn harvest will likely be slightly reduced from last year, mostly because of deer and raccoons. But it seems the energy equation somehow balance out, as we appear likely to harvest significantly more squash, as well as some potatoes, a huge number of tomatoes, amaranth, arugula, mustards broccoli, and a bunch of “wild” herbs and vegetables. It’s still pretty amazing that these crops will grow so successfully without tilling or removing vegetation. #permaculture https://www.instagram.com/p/Bn1XEGoga6h/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=swv2sxcyed5m
