Keith might have been a god of war, but also of justice and protection, so he kept angering a lot of people and creatures alike, meddling into their plans anytime it was needed. One of those angered was Lotor, who, after getting banished out of the Sacred Gardens for his mischief, stole Lance’s arrow and cursed it, before piercing Keith with it, making him fall in love with his ally and rival both - no one else than Lance himself. Keith tried to break the curse, but he couldn’t take the arrow out - he only broke it, making a part of it get stuck under his ribs, sewed into his body. The curse made him feel better only in the other god’s presence, Lance’s company soothing his nerves. He also sometimes yearned strongly enough to keep feeling the arrow in his side as a sharp pain, edges digging deeper until the need was sated. He needed to get rid of the curse and so he started on to a journey, checking place after place - for gods, half-gods, witches and any other creature willing to take it out of him. Lance, a god of bonds and mischief, oceans and safe harbors, who knew how to take care of his own weapon and break the spell, started accompanying him on this quest, offering help, yet waiting for the other to truly ask for it and making fun of his prideful behavior in the meantime. Stubborn and not easily persuaded to change his mind, Keith kept refusing, even when it was harder and harder to resist Lance’s company and the need to look for comfort in him; even when Lance started worrying more, falling for him as well, the curse spreading on them both because of the prolonged contact.  They kept traveling - finding more trouble and adventure than solutions. Until finally, during a dangerous battle, Lance refused to sit still, and without being asked to do so, he took the curse out, so the god could fight with all his strength - but while he held the arrow in his hand, the magic dripping heavy but unattached to a soul - the love didn’t break.

December is Keith's idea, he voted for snowboarding, which makes Lance ascend, that he made Keith Kogane like winter enough to seek leisures in it. They travel in a group with a few other friends, but end up spending a lot of time together, because Keith gets the basics down first and then helps Lance to learn how to not plant on his face all the time. Lance refuses to do that in front of James and Acxa.

At the end of tiring, full of fun days, they whisper in the dark, wondering if Sushi will be a good name for the kitty, and how they can't wait to bring her home from the shelter.

I want to say that with trans folk now being at risk of the fucking death sentence in Florida....

The time for community is Now. The time to start planning and organizing how to get our rights back is NOW. bring it up at your local LGBT craft events or book club or support group or whatever. Tell your friends. Spread the word. And maybe see which ones will have the safety and resources you'll need should a Lavender Hunt happen in your area.

And on the scarier end of reality....

This is fucking terrifying. Lots of people are at risk. Personally, I'm terrified this rhetoric will spread much like Trumpism did. I'm scared for my gf and I'm fucking scared for myself because we know historically that it isn't just trans folk on HRT or drag performers that they go after.

And you have every right to do whatever you need to protect yourself.

I'm not going to shame folks who quit HRT, who take the rainbows out of their bio, the people who start saying partner instead of revealing a gender, or anyone else taking a few steps towards the safety that the closet provides. WE shouldn't.

I fucking love you. And we'll be okay as long as we're together, okay?
