♡divine arrows (into her soul)♡
Spring, at last, has arrived, with an easy breeze and the scent of flowers in the air. Such a scent had only increased tenfold since the new florists had opened up next to, right next to Three Of Pentacles . It was nice, Agatha had mumbled, to not be stuck to that gross, old building anymore. The name was displayed in sweeping green serif, The White Rose , along with the logo, a skull with entwined green and purple flowers.
The flower shop had been there for a few months now, yet its owner was never seen out of her floral haven. For whatever reason that eluded Agatha Harkness, she hadn’t met the florist. She didn’t know anything about this mysterious person. And she didn’t like not knowing things.
“She’s changed the display again,” remarked Jen, pulling on her apron.
“Who?” Agatha’s interest was piqued. Maybe a bit of gossip would be the thing to actually wake her up.
“Who do you think I mean?” Jen chuckled. “Your florist.”
“She’s not my florist.” Against her will, Agatha’s cheeks heated up and grew to be tinted with pink. “I’ve never even met her. Only Lilia has. When she first moved in. Whatever the business version of a house warming is.”
Jen burst into laughter. “Oh, Agatha. You’re hopeless. Crushing on someone you’ve never met?”
“It’s not a crush . I am...” Agatha’s voice trailed off, trying to find the words to defend herself. “Merely intrigued.”
“Intrigued,” Jen echoed. “Just intrigued ?”
Agatha sniffed, sweeping her dark hair out of her face, “Of course.”
Jen’s snarky barb was cut off by the ever familiar twinkling of the café door. Agatha turned around, heart soaring, leaping in her chest. After so long, this could be her chance to meet the elusive woman. And-

Why do all these characters have nicknames and why can i never clock them. I’ve spent the whole time in the yellowjackets fandom slowly figuring out everyone’s given names from their nicknames and it’s psyching me out. It took me so long to figure out that lottie’s given name was charlotte and every time i remember that van’s given name is vanessa i have a miniature heart attack. Mari’s full name is probably maria. Fuck. Gen’s full name is probably genevieve. Shit. Jackie might be short for jacqueline. Crying rn. The fifth season is gonna come out or smth and tell me misty’s real name is mysterious quigley and i’ll have no choice but to keel over and die

Alright. Saw a post about "Anything Goes" and it still hasn't left my mind. So my thoughts on comparing the Tony performances of "Anything Goes" by Sutton Foster and Patti LuPone.
youtube
So things I like about this one: Foster does some charming things with the vowels in spots, the dancing (especially the blocking) is very dynamic, and I think the arm thing is cute.
youtube
And here is the version with LuPone. The things I like with some comparisons: the music is much more dynamic in that it has layers with that statement opening, picks up for the first few verses and kicks up to high gear when it's dance time, with a nice pause at the end before a flourish out. The tapping feels more integrated as an instrument rather than just being with the music (and at times abit cleaner on rhythms to my ears), thought the dance itself seems less complex overall than the later version with Foster.
I think it really comes down to the technology and orchestration. In LuPone's version, the mic was on the floor, meaning LuPone had to project clearly to be heard, but also that the tapping would be picked up in a way that a lack of clarity in the feet would be very detrimental to the music in a way that the Foster version would not suffer. For me personally, I like the music and interplay of the LuPone version ( that mute trumpet with the line "me undressed tonight" is just fun) that the more static Foster version just doesn't have. Now, as a previous marching band member, I can appreciate the dancing in the Foster version a lot (and she hits those moves and has very clean poses). I really love the move where they go from straight to diagonal lines. But, the running thing in the LuPone version where the music changes to lead into the finale stiks with me more. I think it comes down to I appreciate the Foster version as a whole, but the choices made in the LuPone version sets up key moments that I come back to that are just fascinating.
Both are great and are well worth the watch. But the one who put together the music (which I assume then drove the choreograohy) was really cooking on the LuPone version.
