spark . like, don't get it twisted; i still think the animation style looks like ass, &. i'm not happy that they're doubling down on maintaining that muted color palette that nobody liked in the anime. but...! that's not what matters right now!! we only care about her ( seeing reze live &. in color ).

HC . Things Reze would appreciate as gifts: coffee &. flowers. Doesn't even need to be an elaborate bouquet, either; a lone daisy can make her entire day.

HC . As sweet as the idea of Denji running away from it all with Reze is, their dynamic would have shifted drastically now that Reze's mask has stripped off &. her "true" self was exposed to him ( whatever that means given her character! ). She's a dream come true — a hazy, peaceful trance where you know, at one point, you have to wake up; the dream is not real, you know the dream is not real. But is Denji wrong for falling for her spell, that sweet siren song, both fake &. true? For wanting to fall for such a sweet trap?

In spite her initial "intentions", the fondness Reze has for Denji is real; it could even be read more as pity since she sees so much of her own trauma within him. She can't help but empathize with him. Perhaps she was the first person that actually did understand Denji. However, that dream — the illusion — has shattered. It was like they were meeting each for the first time at the beach, by the shore all weary &. vulnerable, once the battle was over. The feelings Reze harbors for him ruined her, defiled her in a way she's unfamiliar with, but she's not naive. They can't go back. They can never go back to how things were once before.

He waited for her, still; &. it's no wonder he didn't question why she didn't come back.

"What's in my bag — Reze edition;" &. it's a canvas tote bag packed with a chain wallet, chapstick, a docomo cellphone with a cat bell charm attached, a zippo lighter, a tiny black book &. pen, her CD player &. a copy of V/iva! La Woman by C/ibbo Matto, &. a horrifying cocktail of pain meds in unlabeled pill cases ( ibuprofen, acetaminophen, oxycodone, etc.; she's got em all! ). Don't ask her how she was able to acquire any of the controlled substances without a doctor's note, either.

She probably did steal the chapstick though.
