oh god, it’s been a minute.

i’m working on perry’s new blog now. i’m returning him to a sideblog and he’ll be attached to r again. i found i had much more muse for pear when he was a sideblog to r--the two of them are so interconnected. he’s going to be dash only. thank you to everyone who’s stuck around during my prolonged absence.

i promise i’m not abandoning perry. between school, work, practicum, finding a new place, getting ready to move, etc. i haven’t had a ton of time for ANY of my blogs, though i’ve been lurking mostly on darlene these days. i’m going to revamp perry’s blog during my break so i’m going to continue being a little quiet over here. i adore perry with every inch of my being and he’s not going anywhere. in the meantime, hit me up on disc.ord ( nolifecrisis#0488 ) or catch me on darlene ( @initcne ).

Perry honestly does enjoy working, because the jobs he has are very active. He works in greenhouses!! He works in mechanic shops!! He can do his writing virtually anywhere!! He gets to be creative with his work. He would rather die than work any sort of desk job. If he’s going to be subject to capitalistic bullshit, he’s going to do something where he can move around and work with his hands. Constantly keeping busy helps with his intrusive thoughts, too. Were he to sit around at a computer all day, his mind would wander far more, and his wandering mind can quickly go down slippery slopes.

God, Perry feels things so deeply. When he’s sad, he’s very sad. It doesn’t have to be the most drastic of situations that make him sad, either. It can be something so minute. It can be someone else’s sadness that triggers his own sadness. But Perry’s also very comfortable with his emotions. He can openly say he’s sad, and openly be sad. He’ll cry, he’ll tell you he’s upset, he can cry and be upset with others when they’re crying and upset. With that being said, when Perry is upset, he tends to isolate. He doesn’t go out of his way to reach out to people when he’s feeling down. If they reach out to him, he’ll open up.

an uncomfortably quiet gas station

             The old gas station up the street is often quiet, especially late at night. After all, there aren’t a lot of people who live on this mountain. Even the colder months, there’s still usually the sound of insects and leaves rustling as the duo approaches the gas station. But tonight, it’s silent. Perry can’t hear any crickets chirping or hear any plants brushing against each other. They were smoking before they ventured out for snacks, and Perry attributes the paranoia to the high.

Perry and Harry are closely acquainted with the middle-aged man who manages the gas station and the small roster of employees who work there, including the night shift worker. The guy manning the cashier isn’t someone the two of them have met before. Perry asks, “Where’s the dude who usually works this shift??” The man narrows his gaze at Perry and doesn’t respond. So Perry shuffles away, sticking close behind Harry as she scours the shelves for chips and candy.

He couldn’t put his finger on the unsettling vibe in the store when he walked in but as Perry opens one of the fridges to retrieve a soda, he realizes it’s the lack of music that’s setting him off. Usually, they have some old country music station playing, and while Perry can’t say he particularly enjoys country music, he would love to hear those nasally, twangy voices right now. When he looks over his shoulder, the cashier is staring directly at Perry.

He clenches his bottle of coke and comes up behind Harry again, tugging on her arm with his free hand. “Hurry up. We gotta go.”
