Sleeping on a dragon's hoard with greedy, dragonish thoughts in his heart, he had become a dragon himself

Why was the other speaking as if they were a walking historical romcom? She was unsure but felt it was rude to question the other's method of speaking - chalking it up to them just feeling more comfortable with that dialect. "Right, Lance," she said, wondering if there was more to the other's name just on how he seemed to pause between in his introduction. Again, though, she decided to keep quiet on her thoughts. "So, are you a wolf or...." she trailed off, "because I have never seen anything like that before"
The wolf-fae swallowed as reality cemented itself around his senses once more. His mouth was dry, but he didn't taste any lingering metallic flavorings that accompanied blood. He didn't taste anything, actually. That tracked - he wasn't certain how long it'd been since he'd eaten last that afternoon. "Sorry." He offered at the woman's clear confusion at his transformation.
"'Tis... a complicated matter." The knight expressed and glanced at the scenery around them; the fallen trunk that the woman had willed to collapse with the unseen power of her magic. The buzz of it was still hanging faintly in the air, though quickly dissipating. "My name is... Lance." He opted for the more modern vernacular of his name. The young woman seemed confused enough without adding Sir Lancelot to that mix just yet. "And thanks be to you, m'lady, for intervening. I used to be in near complete control of myself, but these past several months have been... difficult." He explained. "I lost myself momentarily."

"Exactly, like I think I give it enough resting time, why does it hate me so much?" she laughed softly. "Oh but coffee makes it way worse, and I can't focus on a book sadly" she pouted, "I think it's untreated add to be honest"
"That sounds terrible," Eliza pouted sympathetically. "Nothing worse than when your brain won't take a night off. Personally I'd recommend a good book and a cup of coffee but I know that doesn't work for everyone."

"A sword, really? You're a fucking cop and you're using a sword like you're some kind of medieval knight?" she scoffed as she pushed herself off the wall. "Also, if you were going to kill someone why do it in the most public fucking spot of this town?" she added. "I should say I expected more but that's saying I expected anything from you"
TRIAD would have to rethink their master plan to trap a being like him. Yeon yanked his sword free from the now-lifeless body of the Triad agent, who, oddly enough, looked more like an ice cream van worker than a threat. With a heavy sigh, Yeon glanced down at the body. "How could anyone possibly think to serve anyone without Mint Choc Chip?"
He turned his head to the onlooker. "This… is not uncivilized behaviour. It’s a tragedy." Yeon was not a lunatic though it might look that way but these Triad agents had tried to get clever, to outsmart the fox. And clearly, they'd missed their mark.

"Seriously, parents are just too rude," she said, having noticed more and more parents coming across as high and mighty just because little timmy was the best reader in 3rd grade or whatever stupid awards they were handing out nowadays. "You okay?"

The vampire had just caught a child from falling off the post they were climbing on and set them right up on their feet before she looked up to see their parent coming to snatch them away, giving her a sneer before rushing away. "Sorry, I'll let them fall on their face next time." she called out after them with a roll of her eyes. "Gotta protect the children from the scary lady who just saved you from a meltdown."

She knew she was playing with fire, and that this... whatever it was... could easily rip her into little pieces but the funny thing about almost dying once was that death itself didn't seem to scare her much anymore. Maybe it was her having a death wish or her just not caring anymore but either way she wasn't going to let it harm an innocent person. Though, to say she was surprised to see a very handsome gentleman form out of this beast was an understatement. "Huh," was all she said as she blinked a few times, "how did... why.... ok I have so many questions"
Another fit of rage and another blackout. Lancelot had once thought himself cured of such afflictions, having rarely experienced them in the century he spent within the Spring Court after reawakening from his slumber. Yet, after dealing with Triad and living the recent days keeping a constant eye over his shoulder, it would seem his control had weakened.
Lance's bestial form was hulking - far larger than that of any natural wolf, but there was something more to it. It was... wilder. Almost as if the form was trying to assume the concept of a wolf-like creature while remaining somewhat monstrous. Snarling as the tree fell in front of him, Lance whirled around and rose onto his hind legs - rising into a bipedal stance before clarity finally forced its way through the fog in his mind. He regarded the woman for a few moments and gradually his form began to change - shrinking and shifting back into itself until a man stood in the beast's place.
By saving grace of his fairy magics, Lancelot's clothing seemed to materialize itself from out of the beast's form; as if it had simply molded with him as he changed. "I didn't harm anyone, did I?" He questioned at length, letting out a heavy breath.

"Oh like the spinners?" she asked, "I haven't seen one of those in years, I really have to see if amazon has them," she nodded, wondering if people even still used them or if that was just a temporary fad. "Eh, it's not something worth annoying a stranger over"
"you should get one of those fidget things." toni chimed in, having overheard the other and simply unable to resist. "or i guess just talk about what's on your mind, that helps some people too."

Muttering a spell quietly, she watched as the other's drink burst in their hand. "Yeah, don't call me pet names," she warned, "or else that won't be the only thing that explodes," she said with an annoyed smile. "I'm still trying to adapt to this place, excuse me for trying to make friends in the process"
the bar wasn't incredibly crowded, a handful of his pack were playing a few rounds of pool and he had decided to hang back and simply keep an eye out while he sipped on the beer he'd ordered. the peace he'd been enjoying was interrupted, for what he had no idea and he had no desire to find out. "brain, and mouth, apparently. do what everyone else does, sweetheart, and ask the bartender for something to help." he huffed, his gaze barely leaving his pack to flicker in her direction, unamused by the whole thing.

"I have, yeah, and I end up with a headache and questioning my morals half the time afterwards," she quipped as she looked at the other with a grin. "Though I'm always down for seeing if I'm wrong"
"Have you tried drinking," Emery questioned, her gaze sliding over to the brunette before offering a shrug. "Usually helps me shut my brain up when it doesn't want to stop yapping."

She was bored and absolutely hated boredom, finding it difficult to focus on next to anything without something to do. “My brain won’t stop working and honestly it’s kind of rude of it,” she joked, though it was entirely a joke to her.

Not only could she feel the energy growing dark but she could hear whatever that beastly noise was from the woods. So, deciding it'd be better for her to check it out, she made sure she had her gun on her before running into the woods. Seeing a wolf, though, she wondered if it was a wolf-wolf or a werewolf. Either way, though, she wasn't going to let someone get hurt. "Hey!" she yelled, using her magic to knock a tree in front of the creature, "enough already! You're going to hurt someone"

“Something about Greek mythology is just so interesting to me,” she hummed as she flipped through a book of the god’s. “Like how did people even manage to come up with such an elaborate way of thinking? I need to know answers”

She didn't know the language well but she knew that it was ominous - the aura radiating from it being one that made her want to steer far away from it. And why she was here was beyond her - maybe her wanting to try college again or just being nosy - either way she found herself concerned over what the other was doing with that book. "I would put that book back wherever you found it," she warned
there were things that felt FAMILIAR when it came to the new reality , yet everything was UNDENIABLY different . atticus had been TORN from the PAST , and thrust into a FUTURE ; obvious to say , he was NAVIGATING through UNCHARTED WATERS . a part of him had hoped this new reality would gift him caitlin and sam , ( his wife and son ) . however , even in this reality they were gone . determined to find a way to REUNITE with his family , he stumbled upon an ancient scroll written in a dead native tongue called aramaic , — a language he needed to translate in hopes of answering one question : HOW TO BRING BACK THE DEAD . despite his relentless search , atticus tried to adapt to his new surroundings . he had started working at new orlean college , teaching classes on the OCCULTS . " it's after office hours , " he said , placing a stack of ungraded papers into his dark brown leather bag . " whatever questions you have will have to wait until monday. " atticus added this WITHOUT looking up . assuming the person who was there was just another student .

She watched the crowd only grow, amazed at how one small spot could seemingly hold so many people. Though, seeing the person sit down next to her, she could tell just by their face that it had not been a good night for them. "Need a drink?" she asked, deciding to put herself out there - even if it possibly failed miserably

the heat from inside the club was as suffocating as it was encouraging, the same could be said for the thud of music that bounced off the walls and traveled the floors and straight into her veins. she had almost not come out tonight, and as she moved her way through the crowd, already a couple drinks in, she found herself questioning what had tipped the scale to this very moment. "hey, watch it." she bit as someone ran right into her, making no obvious attempt at avoiding her. all bark fell on deaf ears, the music was far too loud to them to have heard her anyway. the witch kept moving until she found sanctuary in the form of a open space at the bar, sliding in to order a cup of water, or maybe another drink-- maybe, knowing her tolerance, one more drink could turn this whole night around.

There was a hunter tailing her and she knew she could use magic to get out of the situation but that meant exposing what she was to the possibility of more hunters. So, turning into the first building she saw, she closed her eyes as the words 'we're closed' came out. "I'll pay you a hundred dollars if you let me stay here for half an hour. Please"

Avery had just just closed up the cafe and took a moment to breathe. With the towns colliding, she had been busier than ever. But she certainly wasn't complaining because that meant business was booming. But she was definitely considering the fact that she may have to hire a few employees for her own sanity. She couldn't run the counter, run the back end of the business, and do all of the baking and still have any sort of a social life. After heaving a sigh and pushing herself up from the sofa she found herself lounging in, she began to box up the extra pastries when the bell on the door rang as someone opened the door. "I'm sorry but we're actually closed."

[ GABRIELA ANDRADA | SHE/HER ] A new face takes refuge under Dark Skies. MAVI ALONSO, an 25 year old WITCH, is one of those from the PRESENT learning to navigate this changed world. People say behind their back that they’re DISTRUSTFUL but the truth is that they’re really AFFABLE. Their style can best be described as THE MOON APPEARING BRIEFLY OVER CALM WATERS, and we’ll see how that helps them fit in.
Born as the middle child, it didn’t take much to see that she was going to be a problem child. Middle child syndrome hit her and it hit her hard. She was kind and respectful but as she got older she found herself looking for trouble - anything to be seen or heard by her family, even if it meant disdainful looks
Around the time she hit puberty she had already done 2 stints in juvi where she had met a few people who later go on to be her best friends. And maybe it was her being such a problem child but by the time she was 18 and legally an adult her parents essentially kicked her out - forcing her to live her own life without their backing
Having found the determination to start anew, she still lacked in many ways but tried her hardest to embrace this new life, getting her GED and starting college classes. Hell, she even got a decent job working as a part time receptionist for a vet and also a server for a local cafe
Things seemed great by the time she was 23 - she had been dating a good man for some time, she was making a decent income, and she genuinely enjoyed life. The only thing missing was her family, but she found herself too scared to open herself up and get back in touch with them
Before she had a chance to actually try, though, she found her and her boyfriend being mugged. It seemed different though, he didn’t seem to want money or anything, but he had a look in his eyes with the intent to hurt or kill someone. Seeing him go for her boyfriend, she pushed him out of the way and took a knife to the side
Thinking it was the end, she resolved herself to moving on to the other side - hoping that life would be okay for those she had come to love. But, as soon as she closed her eyes she opened to find herself in the hospital - surrounded by those who she knew would be there for her.
Now, with this second chance, she’s finally mustered the courage to return and remake her connections and live a decent life. She wants to try and put herself out there, to actually settle down and get her life together.
