I'm just mad at myself because I keep looking up more and more bleach posts on here and spoiling myself. Then to avoid tumblr, I went to read some fics on ao3, and I read some more spoilers.
I need to stop

please please please give us your thoughts when you reach ch182
Chapter 182 (and 183) were such a light-hearted perfect ending for the soul society arc. (ichigo and orihime climbing up to byakuya's room Lmao)
This arc was crazy. It was just one thing after another, fights going on everywhere, and new characters being introduced with each having unique motivations and backstory.
That character that shone the most to me was Renji. I love this man and his dedication to get stronger for the sake of Rukia. Not just that, he's just really cool overall.
Urahara kind of fell from my eye after the reveal that he was hiding his dangerous invention in Rukia (how did that even happen) and was going to make her lose her soul reaper powers for that.
It gives a "sacrife one person to save the society" and I get it, it makes sense, but it's not sitting right with me.
Anyways, I have finished reading this arc somewhile ago and now I am picking the anime back up and watching the arrancar arc!
I'll be back when it's over to read the manga and share my thoughts
Thank you for the ask <3
#ask#soul society arc#Oh and hisagi and komamura bonding over Tosen's friend's grave#I love how Kubo does not miss giving depth to any side character

I now realize how serious Byakuya was when he asked Renji to whom did he swear to protect Rukia.
In that moment, Byakuya was ready to put Renji in consideration as much as he puts himself.
Byakuya swore to his parents he will never break the law. He is keeping up with his promise and going to the extreme that is killing Rukia and those who stand against her execution, because he swore to his parents.

But then came the shocking answer, Renji swore to himself, and despite that is still risking himself and fighting for Rukia.
Now to talk about Byakuya generally, I love him so much. Upholding the greater responsibility. Seeing himself as someone of position, he should uphold the rules, or else corruption will happen. When a big influential family breaks the rules, it's considered corruption, the people will hate the society and higher ups. He is setting hismself as an example that rules apply to all.
Byakuya was once a man who fell in love and got married. And he fought for this love. When Ichigo said "I fight the law," I was like, but already Byakuya did that once, he fought the law to marry Hisana.

I'm gonna assume Izuru wasn't lying here and that Aizen hypnotized him to see that central 46 where alive and for Toshiro and Rangiku to see the reality...
Because how else did Izuru keep following Gin's orders if he saw central 46 annihilated? He must've known that something fishy is going on and that Gin and Aizen are behind it. He wouldn't have continued with the plan if so... or would he?
If he was pretending not to know the crime and he did actually see the 46 killed, then was he too afraid and helpless infront of Gin and had no other choice but to follow his orders?
I mean, he was ready to kill Rangiku.
Just what did Gin have over him?
He has real loyalty for Gin. I wonder what their relation was like. I hope to see flashbacks or some more interactions of them in the future.

Ukitake seems fond of Aizen. Out of everybody he was the only one to call his name with that facial expression of... betrayal. He could not believe that Aizen did it.

And when Aizen and his group where carried by that light, 'negacion', Komamura calls out to Tosen who is his close friend to question him. And then it pans to Aizen and Ukitake.

Ukitake was reprimanding him. He genuinely cared about Aizen and held him in high regards.
This also shows what a caring loving person Ukitake is.

These two are the bestest besties in soul society. And I know they spill the hottest tea about the seireitei each time they meet

(also look how happy Yoruichi was to see her 🥹)
#Ch 177#bleach#yoruichi shihouin#kukaku shiba#And each time they meet up they talk shit about Urahara#Also remember how Yoruichi thought kukaku's house design with hands holding the banner was cool#What a supportive friend

Yeah I think I just don't like him
There is this thing about Gin Ichimaru where everytime he appears I have to remind myself that he is a captain.
What I mean, to me, he just doesn't look like a captain, doesn't have a captain's aura. And I just don't know why I get that feeling.
Maybe it is that scheming smile he sports 24/7 doesn't make me take him seriously?
Him being Aizen's lieutenant / second hand makes way more sense to me.

Yoruichi left Soi-fon for a man!!!

Just what is Urahara for Yoruichi? She deserted her position for him (? Maybe she hated her lifestyle before that and was already thinking of running away) and helped out Karakura gang all for Urahara to achieve his goal and protect himself. I wonder if Yoruichi has some personal interests from doing all that
Does Urahara understand what she did for him? Does he value the sacrifice she made for him? He better be.
On another note, Soi fon breaking down in tears and going "Why didn't you take me with you?" hits soooo hard. She did not want to be left alone.
It shows how she doesn't matter what path Yoruichi chose, she was going to stand by her side either way. That's why she felt so betrayed.
